KCA 2013 Yearly Review – Christmas and New Year post

It has been a good year for KCA and it has continued to grow into a solid force. It is the support of the regular followers that underpins this site and I would like to say thank you for that support and your continued support.

KCA has published many posts that are in the public interest which you will not read elsewhere and that alone justifies this sites existence and continuance.

Statistics

I won’t bore you too much with the stats but some of the basic ones are. KCA is now 3-years-old with the first post in January 2011.

2011: Page views:  104,889     Email followers 300

2012: Page views: 700,092     Email followers 1902

2013: Page views: 883,343      Email Followers 2454

Pageviews and email followers have both grown over 25%. As the site grows so will its power to drive change.

Given I currently work on this site part-time and post once or twice a week the figures are quite impressive when that is considered. It also does not show how much reach this site has which is extensive at times with some posts going viral.

There were many original posts over the last year. Everything from how did Kevin Rudd and his wife really make their $200 million to why have the police not been called to investigate the missing WA senate votes. The biggest post for the 12 months (traffic wise) was the one in March naming Rolf Harris when the MSM wouldn’t which was liked over 7000 times on Facebook. The 7000 likes is massive even for a MSM site let alone a blog. A few weeks later the MSM did name Harris.

Funding

The mainstream media are contracting with fewer journalists and that makes it even more important for a site like this not only to survive but to grow.

It is the people who have donated or bought a t-shirt or book that have enabled this site to survive. Without your support I probably would have closed the site. For the first 20 months from January 2011 until August 2012 the site was fully funded by myself with a small amount of revenue from book and t-shirt sales. At the end of August 2012 I added a donation button which has helped cover the costs of running this site. While the site is far from profitable the donations have also allowed me to take some time off work at various times to focus on the site. So to all the people who have supported this site financially, thank you.

The ultimate goal is to raise enough funds to work on the site full-time. If and when that happens I have no doubt that this site can go to a whole new level of driving change at the political level.

Looking forward

There are many news stories that are just starting and others will pop up during the course of next year. Some of the court matters will be of great interest to see what happens in cases like Craig Thomson, Peter Slipper and the AWU matter. I will try and get to court to report directly at least a few times during the course of next year. Overall I think there will be plenty to report on and investigate for this site next year.

Thank you to the supporters

This site is many things. It is a media site as I post stories. It is an activist site as it is here to drive change in relation to judicial and political corruption. It is also a grassroots movement because without your support the site would go nowhere and achieve nothing.

Ultimately it is the supporters that will decide if this site is a success and can achieve results long-term. In saying that it has already achieved results in its 3 short years. Overall I think it has been a good year for this site although there is always room for improvement and there are some things that could have been done better.

I am currently planning and preparing for next year. If you would like to help it would be greatly appreciated if you would make a donation. Just click on the donation button below to donate via PayPal or go to the donation page for other options. (Click here for the donation page)

As with the first two years I will be back posting at the end of January so a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you for your support

  1. Happy Christmas and all good wishes for 2014, Shane. The work you do is very much appreciated, and I’m sure we all look forward to seeing more light shed on those who would have us believe that they work in the best interests of us all, while involving themselves in deceit and immoral activities! “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing….” Edmund Burke!

  2. Keep telling it as it is Shane, we need people like you.to keep the politicians honest, if that is at all possible!

  3. Merry Xmas Shane. Wore my Kanga Court T-shirt during a recent hospital stint. Drew a few inquisitive looks, but mostly people find it too confronting. Love it!!

  4. Merry Christmas Shane and thanks for all your great work. I will send a few bucks via the site when my UK pension arrives on Tuesday. Best Wishes….Barrie Macmillan

  5. Shane, Unlike the majority of blog sites (and a number of MSM) and so called expert tweeters where there is no investigation or fact checking done which then distorts the truth and usually always in favour of the left, I have to applaud you for the work you do. I may not always agree with everything you post but have to admit you are unbiased in your reporting of bad choices, injustice, fraud and corruption of those in positions of influence in our great country so am happy to refer friends, family and anyone else who will listen to KCA. Many in the MSM could take a leaf out of your book instead of foisting their own personal ideological agendas on us or being mouthpieces for their political allegiances.
Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy Christmas and New Year and I look forward to reading your posts and follow ups in 2014. Wishing a Happy Christmas to all other KCA readers and posters too.

  6. Shane,

I like to add my thanks, I have been with you since the beginning and I think you are doing a wonderful job. I do not believe that the MSM produces capable journalists anymore. They do not do the investigative work, the are only writing what they are
    told by the left.
My money does not come in untill later in the month, so I will put a little something in your account as soon as I can.
I wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New year. Let us hope that with the various invstigations and court-cases we get some of the real Australia back.
    .

  7. Have a Very Happy Christmas, Shane, and keep up your Top Work.
Read your book “Love letters from the bar table”. Should be read by every Australian.

  8. Shane, thank you for all you do. I find your reporting inspiring and you wet my appetite to go and find out more (if that’s possible). I am very much from the left but that doesn’t mean I support political hooliganism nor the judiciary if biased. I am very keen to know the truth of things. Obviously those who see things as being left all the time don’t read the so called journalists editorials in Qld. Seems the scales are always tipped one way or the other which is a shame as just the truth would do. I feel confident repeating what you write and that is important to me.
So Merry Xmas Shane, enjoy your break and my family (evenly made up of lefts and rights) look forward to 2014.

  9. Long time ago….back in 1968 when I was a wippersnipper or however you might spell it, I heard the Aussie term said which was “Kangaroo Court” .! After 40 plus years of enjoying this wonderful land I have now only found out the true meaning of that strange aussie saying. A KANGAROO COURT. Hey mate please dont stop what you are doing, thanks Jack., have a good 1 and may peace be with your intentions .

  10. George Washington said “Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.” Thanks, Shane, for going through the “pains” on our behalf. Your efforts are truly appreciated. Though you have been threatened with defamation proceedings, they have not eventuated as the truth has been on your side. Keep up with your digging into the corrupt land of politics and the judiciary.

All the best for Christmas and the coming year.

  11. Thank you Shane for the regular delivery of KCA, it is much appreciated.
It revives one’s spirit to be reassured that there are some people who aren’t for sale.

I will drop in another minor contribution to your NAB a/c when pension finances permit.
    Best wishes for 2014.

  12. Shane, it has been a good year. A lot has been exposed to public scrutiny and the powers that be have had to make decisions which they tried to avoid. There is a lot more to come and eventually there will be a watershed. No power can prevent the public owned media systems like this from putting out the hard questions or exposing the fraud and corruption which the powers that be try to hide.
Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year, to all.

  13. Great site Shane. There should be more support for crusaders like you, to expose these slippery, lying “rats” in powerful political positions. Keep up the good work mate.

Merry Chrissy and a Happy 2014.

  14. A great way to open the New Year would be a wrap up of the charges laid against the conspirators of the Australia Day fracas of two years ago…..oh, wait a minute…..
