Bill Shorten

Bill Shorten arrested and interviewed by sexual crimes squad regarding alleged rape of 16-yr-old girl

Bill Shorten was arrested and interviewed by Victoria police regarding an allegation that he raped a 16-year-old girl in 1986. I have been told that it happened on or around the 28th March 2014. I only found out a few days ago about the arrest although I have known about the investigation since last year. It is a bit like the Australian Rules player Majak Daw who the media has only reported in the last few days as being accused of rape even though he was arrested in May.

I have spoken to the Victoria Police yesterday in relation to the Bill Shorten investigation and they have given me the standard line that “The investigation is ongoing and we’re not prepared to provide a running commentary or comment on whether anyone’s been interviewed.” (Click here to read my last 2 emails to the Victoria Police – I have taken the names and email addresses out for privacy reasons.)

I have previously written it was first reported in The Australian in November last year that “A Senior Labor figure is under investigation by Victoria Police after it was alleged he raped a teenager at an event organised by the party’s youth wing in the 1980s.” (Click here to read more)

Plibersek and Abbott were interviewed and said: “THE deputy leader of the federal Labor Party, Tanya Plibersek, has said she fully supports the police investigation of a senior party figure after it was alleged the man raped a teenager at a holiday complex during the 1980s.” and “Tony Abbott has also said he supports the police investigation. “If something has happened, let it be looked into and treated as it should be by the relevant authorities,” the Prime Minister told Melbourne radio station 3AW yesterday.” (Click here to read more) As you would expect Bill Shorten was not interviewed.

I investigated and published three articles:

1. 29th November 2013 – “Bill Shorten accused of raping 16-year-old girl in 1986. Victorian police are investigating” (Click here to read the post)

2. 11th December 2013 – “Bill Shorten refuses to answer media questions regarding alleged rape of 16-year-old girl” (Click here to read the post)

3. 9th February 2014 – Bill Shorten and the Victoria Police rape investigation. Do we have a right to know?” (Click here to read the post

As I said I found out a few days ago that Bill Shorten had been arrested and interviewed on or around the 28th of March so it was time for a follow-up. Everyone is staying silent but they cannot stay that way forever. Even though they’re silent no one is denying anything which is not a good look for Mr Shorten. I am told that the police still have a few more people to interview.

I sent an email to the Prime Minister’s office on Tuesday with a few questions (Click here to read) and have not had a response even though I made a follow-up call yesterday. I also emailed Bill Shorten’s Media Director Ms Gardiner yesterday (Click here to read) and have not had a response. In all fairness Ms Gardiner did not have much time to respond. But I did ask her verbally if Bill Shorten had been interviewed by police and she said I had to put the question in an email but the tone of her voice told the story. If I do get a response I will add it to this post but the previous email I sent last year with questions for Mr Shorten he refused to respond so I am not holding my breath.

How low will Bill go?

I was on Twitter yesterday and was called a paedophile by Bill Shorten’s mate Andrew Landeryou which he deleted. I was not the only one to be called a paedo by Landeryou as apparently if you do not vote Labor you are a paedophile according to Bill’s mate Andrew Landeryou. So that’s Labor’s new tactic. Obviously Bill’s got a lot of problems as he has been named at the Trade Union Royal Commission numerous times and he has to somehow try to conceal the rape investigation from the Australian public. But stooping that low and telling lies about people will not help Bill’s cause.

It is not the first time a Labor Party boy has used this tactic. Remember Labor barrister Julian Burnside tweeted in 2011 that Tony Abbott was a “Paedos in speedos”. (Click here to read more)

Mr Landeryou and his wife Kimberley Kitching who are both good friends of Bill Shorten are well-known for their smear tactics. So much so that when Kimberley ran for Labor Party pre-selection last year in Julia Gillard’s old seat of Lalor other candidates were scared off. It said in the Melbourne paper The Age last year where it quoted Stephen Mayne:

“He said Kitching had co-ordinated a “disgracefully negative campaign” on behalf of lord mayoral candidate Peter McMullin in 2008. And he said that quality Labor women were reluctant to nominate in Lalor “because they fear the smear that always tends to follow the Landeryou-Kitching duo around”.” (Click here to read more)

You can read previous posts about Landeryou and Kitching looting the HSU on this site. (Two being here and here)

I have to wonder if Andrew Landeryou is part of Bill’s plans to avoid the rape investigation being made public. The attack the messenger strategy is not a great one except when you have nothing else and the truth is not an option as it rarely is with Mr Shorten. The reality is that Bill Shorten has so many skeletons in the closet it is just a matter of which one will bring him down. But Mr Shorten will not be going down without a fight so watch out people and watch the mud and lies fly.

Back to the Aussie Rules player Majak Daw. The police have not named him but the media have. It said on the Channel 9 site:

“Sexual crimes squad detectives arrested and interviewed a 23-year-old Wyndham Vale man on May 25, in relation to a sexual assault in Altona North in 2007, Victoria Police said in a statement.”

“He has been released pending further inquiries. Police would not identify the man, but the Seven Network has named him as Daw.” (Click here to read more)

The old media think an AFL player being investigated, arrested and questioned for rape is of national importance so they name him. But they do not think that Bill Shorten the leader of the opposition being investigated, arrested and questioned for rape is important enough to name him. Makes you wonder and supports what I wrote in the last post about Channel 7 and them concealing the crime of the Labor Party.

  1. When are we going to see some Moral Values installed into our Governments in Australia ?,this is sounding much like the Heiner affair , Hard to believe the Media would wilfully deny the Public the truth about such a sensitive issue , but sadly I know it is true and it is just despicable ! thanks Shane >

  2. If it was a Liberal you know it would be front page news and a constant banner item for weeks on end. What is Shorten holding over their heads that they are too gutless to hold him to proper account? Or is it just that they know the emperor is naked but have held the line about the new clothes for so long they would rather die than admit their blind stupidity?

  3. An interesting twist in the ongoing saga with Bill Shorten. Obviously everyone (media, Labor Party, politicians) is trying to cover up for him. Why has this not become public knowledge? Is this another example of the wide yielding power that corrupt officialdom exerts over the general public. I have noticed that Bill Shorten does not get a mention at all on Channel Seven on its coverage of the Trade Union Investigation, only negative reporting against the whistleblowers and others trying to do the right thing for the union members. Keep up the good work Shane.

    • It is time for us to become the mainstream media. If everyone who reads this emails 5 or 10 of their friends with the link back then in a very short time thousands or maybe millions will know about it.

      • Hi Shane………not only e-mail but do what I am doing, print your website with this article and put it on notice boards, put in letter boxes and my best one was I went to ALP Electorate office and handed one over and told them what I was doing…………….it was a priceless…….., the look on their faces will stay with me forever.

      • Hi Shane……..I must be a man of influence and I did not know I had those qualities in my being. I went to the local supermarket this morning for a few things and there set up outside was a ALP stand handing out things which must be for some local elections in the Macedon Ranges. They asked me If I would like their “stuff” and I politely said no thank you, they kept at me and then I let rip at them about Bill Shorten and you know what. I said that when I come out we can have a talk about the rape case of which they all fired up at with total denials. 5 minutes later I am back and lo and behold. tables, chairs and everything was gone………saw the car backing out from the carpark, all I wanted was to have a talk, but there was a stall outside near them and a lot of people hanging around. Cheers, Bob Brown.( not from Tasmania.LOL)

    • Yeah. If other people were even wrongly accused of anything the whole of Australia would know about it. No, in fact I reckon the MSM would attempt to sway public opinion to such an extent that even an innocent person would be seen as guilty in the eyes of the public. All for good entertainment, ratings, and $.

Thanks again to “Mr Wonder-bra” (Kerry Stokes) for keeping us informed of important events.

This all says a lot about the ALP and the MSM when they try to keep quiet on something like this, and keep that kind of person in their position as opposition leader.

    • One must remember that CH 7 and in particular David Koch have ‘skin in the game’ when it comes to Bill Shorten. We should cast our minds back to the Beaconsfield Mine disaster and the adoration that Koch displayed towards Shorten and the adulation of Shorten he put to air

  4. Shane thanks again. It is always a mystery to me, why the MSM and the ABC do not report anything negative about the Greens/Labor.

Especially with this alleged rape by Shorten and the info coming out of the Royal Commission, it is unbelievable what they are reporting.

I also would have thought that by now, there would be more information around, but there still is not.

    It is actually very concerning.

    • I have a question. If someone publicly calls you a paedophile, (assuming that you definitely are not) could you make a complaint based on criminal libel laws?

      • I have followed up and we will see what comes of it. The fool was also harassing Kathy Jackson while she was giving evidence. Mr Landeryou’s wife, Kimberley Kitching is currently on the payroll of the HSU and is being investigated by the Fair Work Commission.

Claims of cronyism in health union

Fresh claims of cronyism, misuse of members’ funds and union resources being used for Labor preselection campaigns have hit the Health Services Union in Victoria, with its assistant secretary asking the Fair Work Commission to investigate.

Federal Labor MP and opposition leadership candidate Bill Shorten last year put the strife-torn union into administration, and former Darebin mayor Diana Asmar was elected secretary in December 2012.

Mr Shorten’s friend and factional ally Kimberley Kitching was appointed general manager shortly after.

Now it has been alleged by the union’s assistant secretary that, among other things, Ms Kitching used union resources on her failed preselection campaigns for the safe Labor seats of Gellibrand and Lalor.

  5. Filthy disgusting little creep! Sad to think that this despicable person could be the next Prime Minister

    • Your comments suggest that Billy Shorten is guilty and that he is despicable because of his behaviour around this case. You may well be correct and that there is a huge cover-up by the police, that political pressure has been brought to bear. There is evidence that Billy is a wobbly dancer, that he was duplicitous with Julia Gillard, that he has been corrupt and sinister, as Kathy Jackson suggests, in union circles. I do not have a warm regard for Billy Shorten and in my view it was a big mistake to select his as Opposition Leader.

Nevetheless, as this is a site about justice, court cases, litigation and police procedures, rather than simply a Kangaroo Court in the worst sense, Billy is innocent until proven guilty. If he is found to be guilty, then it is inconceivable that he would ever become PM.

      • Don, I am surprised nobody else jumped in here to say this. So I will.

On the surface what you are saying is correct HOWEVER you have overlooked possibly the most important issue: certain people in our society use their networks (politicians, lawyers, judges, police, the media) to not only hide their activities but also to commit more questionable things. I believe this is the gist of this article, that you and I would be reported about in the media instantly if we were accused or investigated for any alleged crime, whereas the actions of people like Shorten are well hidden.

Why do so many in the media/police succumb to Shorten or actively aid him in hiding what he is accused of? Why one rule for people like him and a different rule for us?

P.S. The mudslinging done to anybody who dares report such information also speaks volumes about a person’s character.

      • Hullo Concerned Aussie,

I certainly agree that the law, police procedures and political processes can be corrupted by the rich and powerful; and I certainly agree that someone such as Shane Dowling becomes a target for drawing attention to issues around injustice.

I don’t necessarily accept your statement that “you and I would be reported about in the media instantly if we were accused or investigated for any alleged crime”. The reason why I don’t accept it is because of painful experiences with the law in my own family.

My view is that Bill Shorten is an extremely poor choice for the role of Opposition Leader because he is a wobbly dancer with a record of duplicity that can be substantiated. If he is the best that the ALP can throw up, one can understand why the Labor Party will be consigned to the political wilderness.

His possible involvement in a rape case in 1986 would end his career tomorrow if it went to court: his reputation would be destroyed. Some comments on this forum have already assumed his guilt and dismissed him as ‘despicable’.

I believe that a site such as this one keeps the police focussed and accountable, and the wheels of justice spin slowly {get bogged sometimes} but care and respect are essential ingredients.

  6. Here we go again, one law for the pollies and sports stars, another for the rest of us. When are the media and the legal system going to act on these matters and give the general population some confidence in our countries justice system. Too much to ask.
Abbott and co. may not be popular with the budget but, remember that we are in the situation of large debt thanks to a labour party that has proven to have no regard for anyone but themselves.
Maybe it is past time for the Australian people to stand up and be counted. Remember, apathy breeds contempt.

    • The investigation of this alleged case has been concluded and Bill has publicly stated “there is absolutely no basis to the claims”. Many will think ‘that’s exactly what he would say, wouldn’t he?’

But dare I say it, Peter Kemp: there is ‘one law for the pollies and sports stars and another for the rest of us”.

If it happened to you or I, and the police investigated the case fully, and there were no charges, we might feel vindicated and that the matter might now be at an end.

Dare I say it, this will not be the end for Bill Shorten: the innuendo, slurs, winks and outrage, the certainty that he is guilty despite the police investigation, the mud throwing etc. will go on, and on, and on.

Why should one go into politics?

      • I wrote about it last year when the media wouldn’t name him. History is repeating itself. The post start of:

Rolf Harris arrested in UK sex scandal police investigation

Rolf Harris has been arrested and interviewed by British police investigating the Jimmy Savile child sex scandal. The so-called main stream media at this point are refusing to name him even though there is no legal requirement for them not to and it is all over social media such as twitter.

What Rolf Harris has or hasn’t done is not the point of this post, it is our right to know and the failings of the main stream media and their own self-censorship. The failing of the media is a topic this site has covered numerous times and will continue to do so.

Click here to read more: http://kangaroocourtofaustralia.com/2013/03/30/rolf-harris-arrested-in-uk-sex-scandal-police-investigation/

    • Two words, not guilty, so perhaps you had better judge another book by its cover,Bill Shorten has been found not guilty on all charges,so to all whom has thrown the book at this labor leader ,time for you to repent, all the best to Bill & his wife& young family, how disgraceful to be judged so cruelly these are serious allegations& we all know where it came from try pointing the finger at the Libs,

  7. Interesting to note Shane, I think that post had the most comments (over 200 I think) on your site. Rolf certainly prompted some interest.

  8. I look forward to hearing from former PM Julia Gillard who promised to call out misogyny wherever she found it.

  9. Rolf Harris, as I understand it, is only accused of “inappropriate touching”, not of actual rape. What is alleged against Short Willy is the rape of a 16 year-old, which is an altogether more serious thing – particularly given that the accused is the alternative Prime Minister of this nation. But apparently the Labor brown-tongue press thinks this is NOT newsworthy???

Inappropriate touching is no doubt a serious offence – almost as serious as winking on A.L.P.B.C. radio, or of calling somebody named “Michael”, “Mike”, but the Labor MSM toady-press have pilloried and vilified Rolf Harris, Majak Daw and Tony Abbott and censored, hushed-up and protected an alleged kiddie-fiddler. What makes the Majak Daw allegation, page 1 & 2 news in the Herald/Sun, but the Bull Shorten allegation a state secret? Is it the skin colour of one? Or the political colour of the other?

Also how is it that somebody accused of the rape of a minor (whether rightly or wrongly) can wander not only around school grounds, but berate a whole classroom of 5-year-olds about the evil of Tony Abbott winking on radio? I thought accused kiddie fiddlers were supposed to be kept away from school grounds.

Also, the allegation of rape of a 16 year old is not the only unsavoury one doing the rounds. What happened to the Canberra-based Personal Assistant of a certain very senior A.L.P. figure a couple of years ago, who allegedly had to have an abortion which was paid for by her boss? I seem to remember tales that a very unhappy pollie’s wife, left the marital abode and moved in with mum for a while.

    • You can easily see how having a skeleton in the closet gives your political career a definite boost. Its because you are controllable. Carrot and stick, reward and punishment. Gillard had it with the slush fund and Shorten has it in spades with…well take your pick.

      • I think you hit the nail on the head. This has been a pet theory of mine for some time now. Makes people like Shorten & Gillard, very, very controllable. The ALP is bad as the Teamsters or the Mafia. How did the KGB control double agents in western countries? By blackmail. The old “photo of someone doing…..” You get the drift

  10. No independent authority vets our wannabe politicians – not financially nor their personal history – why not?

It is all about the broken democracy this Nation tries to function under … when we the people allow the foxes in the hen-house we only have ourselves to blame … none of us really want to put our ‘skin’ in the game … and that is why ‘apathy’ allows the contempt we see throughout our political membership, our judicial system, and every other conduit to power … mediocrity breads mediocrity …

  11. I thought this site was about “injustice ” and unlawful court cases ,lack of police procedure ,and exposing outright corruption including many Judges and Politicians , we the people are the judges and that’s why Common Law says that we have a right to be judged by 12 of our peers a right that they are trying to deny many ,,sure we need all the facts ,but to be arrested for questioning over the rape of 16yr old girl does not look good nor does the cover up ! ,regardless Bill Shorten was just the nail in the coffin that labour was always going to get

  12. Well Plibersek will be happy as she has her eye on the Leadership of ALP! Thanks Shane for this information, I know you have mentioned something similar in early posts? Was it about a ???pregnant staffer?

  13. Andrew Bolt as a precursor to his show this Sunday asks on his blog “how come the mud isn’t sticking to Bill Shorten?” And yet everyday I ask in posts when will he live up to his No Fear, No Favours rhetoric and expose Kitching, Landeryou and Asmar ‘s dodgy dealings and their connection to Shorten and every day he refuses to post my question except one day I managed to get it past the moderators only to have it removed later.

Again today I have posted the question and told him if he needs to know “how come the mud isn’t sticking to Bill Shorten?” just look in the mirror.

    • The response to your question is on Andrew Bolt’s Blog today: “I didn’t believe it for a second and have refused from the start to name the accused”.

This Kangaroo Court of Australia site has let the story run – quite reasonably – till the police investigation has concluded.

It is now reasonable to let the matter drop unless there is substantial evidence that the police investigation was flawed. That does not seem to be the case.

  14. I am stunned that none of this is reaching the main stream media, what are they afraid of? Is he Teflon Bill? Imagine the hysteria from Labor if this was Tony Abbott instead of Shonky Shorten. OK innocent until proven guilty but you don’t get arrested without some suspicion so lets get it out in the open.

    • Hi Saxon……………………forget about MSM and the ABC, they have been bought off, this is now our battlefield here and elswhere on the internet and they cannot touch us or stop us…………..read my reply to Shane above, since doing this my phone is running hot with replies……….and my friends I show in person the look on their faces is priceless also………..come on True Aussies step up to the plate, think of your kids future and their children as well.

      • Exactly come on Aussies dig in and not only support this site but lets get this hidden News out to the Public ,we are having a Public meeting tomorrow in Tamworth and this site and this story will be first topic on our Agenda ,and look regardless of shorten ,have we not had enough sexual abuse in this country to last a lifetime ? are we not sick enough of criminals liars and Paedophiles abusing us and our children ?

  15. If Teflon Bill is so pure, then he shouldnt have any worries about coming clean.
However this is part of the Labor party that is notorious in their coverups!

  16. Bill Shorten must resign immediately as the labor party leader. The next time he gets arrested by the Victorian police he will be charged. It’s obvious that this investigation will lead to charges against Shorten. Why isn’t the Australian media reporting on Shorten on this rape investigation & the numerous times he has been named in the Royal Commission. Does the Australian media love Shorten?. I believe Shorten’s career is over, the question is how long he can hold on. As for Kimberley Kitching & Andrew Landeryou, they are both lowlife criminals who will both be exposed sooner rather than later. I have said this before and I will say it again, Kitching & Landeryou are a Bonnie & Clyde criminal team.

    • It just shows the contrast between the two Parties. The State Leader of one Party is accused of possibly accepting a graft bottle of wine, and he resigns his position as Premier, rather than bring dishonour on the office.

The other Party, on the other hand, is led Federally by a bloke who is accused of raping a 16 year old and also getting his P.A. pregnant and having to pay for her abortion.

Moderator: Rest deleted as off topic

  17. Am sick of the censorship that the ruling class imposes on us plebs. I don’t want to be told only what Laurie Oakes thinks is appropriate. The ALP legal threats must be flying behind the scenes and AB ordered to shut up. Maybe the doyens of the press gallery have already told BS they won’t touch it similar to the assurance Julia got in 2007 about AWU. Puzzled why AB deals with Kitching. She and Landeryou are part of Shorten’s cabal and prime examples of the amoral ALP/Union mafia-like operatives the RC is set up to expose.

  18. punching a wall thirty years ago is headline news, raping a girl, well it is not (the ABC knows best, after all they say it is your ABC) these disgusting people who think they know best …..

    • This alleged rape was reported to the Police. So we can’t comment on something which is “sub judice”. As to the wall being punched, well the wall didn’t complain to the Police that it was assaulted, therefore we can keep on commenting on this story!
      Signed: A “respected” AGE/ABC journalist.

  19. Doesn’t anyone remember that Mr Shorten was having an extra-marital affair (was that the only one?) with his present wife, the daughter of the previous GG, and she was also married to someone else at the time. It wasn’t that long ago when that act alone was grounds for removal from a government position. How can a person be trusted when they have lied and broken vows like Mr Shorten did and put in position that could become the PM of Australia is beyond my comprehension?

    • What ever happened to the good old Australia practice of “a fair go for everyone”. I am not politically bias to any party (none of them to be trusted). But ” fair go” these are only allegations with no conviction recorded. The way most of your replies are leaning have a hanging posse on standby to hang the guilty B——ed. No trial as of this date remember the old saying ( The wheels of justice grind slowly but turn surely) If he is proven guilty let the full force of the law fall on him. But until then come on Aussies give everyone a fair go!

      • As proven by kca and others the wheels of justice are corrupt and cannot be relied upon.

      • Fair go? You’ve got to be kidding. If these allegations had been made about Abbott, it would be all over the media, non-stop. Remember the ‘wall punch’ myth? The reason for the current media silence, is purely political. Shorten, like most media, is of the left. And the left don’t give a toss about a fair go.

      • After last nights Media story ,I think we may be in for a lot more of all this Media Lies By Omission and corruption in the courts ,I am really hoping any independent journalists here in Australia are not going to be made an example of similar to last night , and also the general public , is it now an offence to tell the truth or report the facts ?? Can anyone trust the courts for Honesty and integrity ? Rule of Law ? Sadly not that many people are shocked by all of these deceptions ,ah it’s normal they say ? maybe I should put up a big sign on our Highway to tell Bills big secret to everyone ? But then the Media would find out ?? maybe then the Public would find out ?

  20. Darryl Hennig – Former PM Hawke was a serial adulterer and it didn’t stop his political career. I remember when he admitted as much and broke down in tears on the Clive Robertson show Truly Sickening.
G J McNamara – If Clive Palmer was under investigation over a rape case do you think Stokes Channel 7 and the MSM would remain silent? I don’t think so! Shorten is claiming he is the man to lead Australia when he is under investigation for rape. The public has a right to know.

    • You can’t go much lower than Labor. For years, the ALP has dragged Australian politics into the gutter, and, just when you think they could go no lower, they surprise you and do the unthinkable. It is time this organisation had its rear end sued off so that we can have real politicians on the left side of politics, not a raft of criminals and left-overs from the union movement.
