Ralph Blewitt who helped Julia Gillard’s partner Bruce Wilson rip off the AWU in the 1990’s says he will reveal all if he is given immunity from prosecution. This was revealed in The Australian on Friday in a front page story.
The story starts off: THE former union official and alleged bagman for a financial scandal linked to the then boyfriend of Julia Gillard wants to give evidence for the first time to police and prosecutors about his role and the conduct of others.
The Australian can reveal that Ralph Blewitt, a one-time branch head for the Australian Workers Union, is seeking immunity from criminal prosecution in return for breaking a 17-year silence and providing a statement to police. (Click here to read the full story)
The Australian have also run with the story again today (Saturday 4/8/12) The evidence to come out in the articles is nothing greatly new but there are a number of key points of interest the first obviously being that News Ltd have decided to go hard on the issue again with front page stories. Although it must be noted that Andrew Bolt has been continuing to run with the story since last year and some other media picked up on the story on Friday as well.

The second is Ralph Blewitt being prepared to tell all. He has been living in Asia since 1997 and currently lives in Malaysia. He is back in Australia to come clean on the fraud and has a criminal lawyer to represent him. The man who seems to have made this happen is Harry Nowicki who is a retired Melbourne lawyer who has been investigating the matter for the last six months for a book on the scandal. The third could and would mean major problems for Julia Gillard given that she has never given a detailed account of her involvement and/or knowledge of what happened. Blewitt potentially could implicate her and if I was a betting person I would say that is exactly what would happen. Then it would be a bit late for any denials from Gillard to carry any weight as she should have given a fully detailed account a long time ago.
This is important for this site and it’s supporters as well. Some people write in the comment section that there is nothing we can do about corruption and others have said we should have a revolution to get rid of corrupt governments. Well the revolution will never happen physically but it is happening online. So even though Julia Gillard killed off the story in the main stream media last year she never killed the story online. This site got the ball rolling last August with the post mentioned above and other blogs picked it up and ran with it as well and it has been kept going by the people using Facebook, Twitter and email etc. So no matter what happens with this matter now we have made our presence felt.
As this site and others like it grow so will our power to drive the political agenda and real change. Give it a few years and sites like this one, and hopefully this one, will be as much the mainstream media as the major players.
I was planning on doing a different post on a current court case but this matter has gathered momentum. So I will do the other post midweek.

The trade union movement has suffered immense damage by this scandal and rightly so. Greg Comet and Bill Shorton are highly responsible for the demise and destruction of Australian Trade Unions as was Bob Hawke. I was once a loyal Trade Union member and like so many other Australian workers no longer want any part of unions. Gillard and her cronies are being exposed as the traitors they are. Give Blewitt immunity to expose the traitors.
AWUgate was the one out of all the scandals- and there’s thirty or more of them when you count them up- this is the one that has exposed not only gillard and the gangsters around her but also the controlled opposition, the lapdog media, the unionist monsters and the truly bizarre background history of the witch herself. Slater and Gordon could be complained of to the law society of course, but that would be pointless. No point at all in reporting crooks to crooks. If Labor had never come to power, the Jillard/Wilson matter would have stayed buried.
As in a assault matter, if the assaulted person refuses to press charges, the matter does not proceed.
Police investigated the AWU/Wilson fraud and recommended charges be laid, but the AWU leadership decided not to pursue the matter as close scrutiny would have unearthed wider fraud, involving many others, maybe even the leaders themselves.
With Wilson being the main beneficiary of the fraud, until he is charged and faces court,
and is found guilty, there is no chance of Jillard being charged over anything.
Wilson needs to be found guilty to create the FACT, upon which a case against Jillard could be mounted.
But Wilson needs to be charged in the first place, by charges pressed by the AWU, that won’t happen, the AWU leadership past and present have too much to lose.
Factions within the Labor movement want Jillard removed as PM, as seen by statements made by Robert McClelland. Those factions are fanning the fire that could engulf Jillard.
It is more likely that Jillard will stand down. All the hype about Jillard is to bring her and the Government down.
When she does step down, we will still have the same barrel full of rotten apples in charge.
And then the Jillard/Wilson matter will fade to become old news, once again.
This is all a game to these people – politicians, the wigs & the unions. It is designed to keep us occupied with their scandalous meanderings, while they plot & plan away our future, while at the same time playing “divide & conquer” & putting OUR money in their pockets!
Which brings us here to Shane’s excellent blog & his Kangaroo Court website, which is all about exposing the CORRUPTION within the Judicial system – Why rent a lawyer, when you can buy a Judge!
The hands of the police are tied in this matter because the judges are in the back pockets of the politicians – no matter what side is in power. Have you noticed that nearly every time this matter of Gillard’s involvement in the matter of the fraudulent misuse of AWU funds has been raised, it has been either by, or at the instigation of a member of either a Union, the Labor Party or both. Former AWU joint national secretary, Ian Cambridge called for a Royal Commission into the union.
Former AWU national President and Qld. ALP powerbroker Bill Ludwig supported him. Tim Daly and Peter Trebilco, joint Secretaries of the W.A branch acknowledged the existence of an unauthorised bank account operated between April 1992-April 1995 and that approx. $385,000 passed through it. They referred it to the Fraud Squad.
The former joint national secretary of the AWU Steve Harrison wrote to the NSW Police minister asking for a National Crime Authority investigation into those accounts, again supported by his factional rival Ian Cambrige who made a similar call. (ALP and union leaders were concerned that if a NCA enquiry was not held the Howard Government could use a Royal commission to attack the union movement in general.)
On ABC’s Australian Story Julia Gillard acknowledged that some of her enemies within Labor had given Phil Gude information and urged him to raise it in Victorian Parliament which resulted in many of the relevant documents being recorded on Hansard. After Gillard’s appearance on that program, senior ALP figures critical of Gillard’s perceived attack on Kim Beasley raised the allegations again.
WA CFEMU unon official Kevin Reynolds referred to the aaffair at a union meeting, accused Gillard of hypocrisy and threatened “that it was just one of many secrets he would reveal about Labor’s inner circle.”
Current Labor MP Robert McClelland is just the latest, and of course we cannot forget the valiant efforts of Bob Kernohan on behalf of his former AWU workers. There are many other examples. I would add that the hypocrisy of former AWU officer MP Bill Shorten and AWU leader Paul Howes is breathtaking when they pontificate about the HSU and completely ignore the unpunished unresolved frauds in their own union, of which they have full knowledge!
All these matters are on public record and I acknowledge many sources. In view of all this information, just how much longer can the lid be kept on this stinking can of corruption?
I had a dream last night of a news headline FORMER AUSTRALIAN PRIME JULIA GILLARD SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS JAIL. Sometimes dreams do come true.

I have to disagree that this video is boring, rather, it is very precise and informative and shows evidence of Ms Gillard’s documents and signatures.
Alan Jones’ interview was equally informative and I hope he presses on with more interviews.
What concerns me is, why isn’t this being acted upon more swiftly? This delay is giving these criminals time to cover up more.
Our Prime Minister, Julia Gillard is not worthy of the job of flipping hamburgers, let alone be the leader of Australia.

I am as concerned as you are in regard to the lack of action and the delay in ‘doing something’ about these ‘very shifty peices of work’ Gillard, Thomson, Williams, Shorten etc, etc. The big problem seems to be that the Unions involved will not make any complaints to the police, they will not cooperate with the police and you can put Shorten at the top of the list as to who is to blame for all that. Hopefully she will get her just desserts and all of her nasty little ‘hangers-on’ will choke on it with her. However, as you say, “Don’t hold your breath”. She still has a lot of ammunition and she will use it! Anything to stay in POWER. (The Labour Government syas it is ‘in power’ others say they are ‘in government’).

Len that’s just pathetic. For everybody that doubts what Abbott actually stands for I suggest you read his book Battlelines written in 2008 which tells you xactly what you are getting and what he stands for.
Sure he’s put his foot in his mouth sometimes as did Jeff Kennett and look at the legacy he left Victoria with. Back in 1996 poeople doubted Howard and he proved them wrong as well. I think the country will be pleasantly surprised just how much of a difference he will make when he becomes the next Prime Minister.

In fairness Ron, National Senator Barnaby Joyce spoke on this in the Senate this year in his “Speech on Appropriation Bills nos 5 & 6 2011-2012, 22 June 2012”. The good thing is that not only is much of the detail already in Victorian Hansard. but now also in the Federal Parliament Hansard. The deviousness of Gillard and many of the former union players, some of whom are prominent Labor MPs, who have assisted in covering up and/or preventing a full investigation of the fraudulent misuse of AWU member’s money.is there permanently for all to see.now and in the future!

Whilst many well credentialled experienced industrial lawyers round Australia have found it impossible to even get on a list of possibles for future appointment, Gillard’s personal “baby” Fair Work Australia has proved a handy place to reward perceived “loyalty” or perhaps silence critics. As Shane has noted previously, Ian Cambridge, the man who originally called for a Royal commission into the whole AWU/Wilson/Gillard affair has been given a very nice job by Julia and Bob Kernohan has listed some of the inducements (Labor pre-selection for safe seat etc.,) offered to others and to him in efforts to try and “buy” silence.. Gillard’s history warns me not to be surprised at anything she contrives to do to hold onto “power”!

As said Miss Gillard can only give one of two explanations for her part. She was either incompetent or complicit. Personally I favour the former. It is consistent with all the evidence, past and present, and is consistent with the sisterhood like behaviour of the ALP and certain Press Gallery members thinking it all a conspiracy against her sex. I also do not think any wider conspiracy exists to protect Miss Gillard. Any enquiry to get at her is sure to leave a lot of damaged careers in its wake. The rest of the cabal is protecting itself.

I suspect he can be granted immunity based on the fact that Lucky Gattellari as an accessory before the fact of murder in the McGurk murder in Sydney may be getting immunity to testify against Ron Medich.

Hi Shane, I was just wondering if you know anything about the biography Gillard had axed from publication? When you said about Nowicki writing a book it reminded me that radio presenters and journos aren’t the only ones Gillard has muzzled. Do you know who wrote the bio? And can they now be persuaded to publish do you think? It could make for interesting reading.

How can a woman in her mid 30’s, namely Julia Gillard, claim, “I was young and naive”? what she should have said is, “I was an adult, a Lawyer and a Liar”. Just imagine if one of the “general public” did the same or similar? I must say the day can’t come soon enough for me, when Gillard is brought to Justice!!

This is getting like the Obama College records issue. For something that is apparently so innocuous and harmless that we should just “move on” an extraordinary effort is being made to conceal facts. If Obama’s college records are not controversial why are they sealed? And the privacy argument doesn’t cut it. He is the President and Commander in Chief of the most powerful country on earth. If Miss Gillard was neither incompetent or complicit then why not just answer the obvious questions? It could be cleared up in a matter of minutes. It might be old news but in 2012 she holds the highest office of trust in the country. For f***sake!

Chloe, I don’t think that your senses are failing you. Since Paul Howes, as national secretary of the AWU is (or has been) sitting on the details of the Bruce Wilson affair for some time, why would he have been so keen to act as Queen Maker for Juliar? ‘Piggy,’has very strong aspirations to be Prime Minister himself one day. Would he have pushed hard for Juliar (with the blood of K Rudd on his hands) knowing all the details of her corrupt past? Is ‘Piggy’ really that deluded and full of his own self importance?
If Howes refuses the release of the files, he obviously is aware of their contents, otherwise he would seek to clear the air, unless he has something to hide by association with those mentioned in the files.
For a person to have political ambitions, as obviously he has, to try to keep a lid on this matter, is a detriment to his future prospects.
If Paul Howes cannot stand up for the full disclosure of what happened to the use of unionist subscriptions, what will that say about the man?
Not all Labor people have something to hide, but guilt by association, in the eyes of the electorate can be damning.
Remember the catch words ” It’s Time’, well it is time for the honest members of the Labor Party to stand up to, and aside from, those in their party who are not honest. Full disclosure is a true sign of honesty.

@Terry. yes…”It is Time” ..the catchphrase could not be more important than now. I would love it if Shane could do something similar to a sort of VISIBLE “Family Tree” of the Labor Party and its history showing associates like Judges, Lawyers, Union Officials, businesses, Governors etc. and how they are all connected today through their movements , affiliations, connections with each other both personally and up the corporate business world, particularily since the early 1990’s . I think visibly it would have a huge impact especially here and on YouTube. Many of the Australian public need to SEE how they are all entwined with each other, almost incestuously, showing exactly how many of them are in prominent positions today either in Government, Unions or the Judicial system. Will it show patterns? You bet ! Will it show ugly associations…you bet! Will some knowledge on personal connections shock and disgust…you bet! It is simply too difficult at times to put it all into perspective when trying to read and remember who’s who…who did whom…who gave favors…who was appointed etc. etc. Still…Shane your work is outstanding and commendable. I Love the photos posted on this site and the Videos as well. Visuals have impact too.
