NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian was forced to resign on Friday (1/10/21) because the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption announced they were investigating her for alleged corruption, as per the below video, with hearings into the matter to start on the 18th of October.
ICAC would not have taken the action they have setting down a public inquiry unless they already knew they had rock solid evidence that Gladys Berejiklian had acted corruptly which would also explain why Berejiklian has also resigned from parliament because she knows exactly what evidence they have and she knows she is in a lot of trouble.
Gladys Berejiklian is not an honest person and she blatantly perjured herself in the witness stand at ICAC last year (Click here to read more) and she openly said pork-barrelling by politicians was not a crime when she was exposed last year spending $250 million of taxpayers money before the 2019 election to buy votes. Further Operation Keppel public inquiry
Friday 1 October 2021
The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will hold a further public inquiry in Operation Keppel from 10:00 am on Monday 18 October 2021.
The Commission is investigating whether, between 2012 and 2018, the Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP engaged in conduct that:
- constituted or involved a breach of public trust by exercising public functions in circumstances where she was in a position of conflict between her public duties and her private interest as a person who was in a personal relationship with the then NSW Member of Parliament, Mr Daryl Maguire, in connection with: grant funding promised and/or awarded to the Australian Clay Target Association Inc in 2016/2017; and grant funding promised and/or awarded to the Riverina Conservatorium of Music in Wagga Wagga in 2018; and/or
- constituted or involved the partial exercise of any of her official functions, in connection with: grant funding promised and/or awarded to the Australian Clay Target Association Inc in 2016/2017; grant funding promised and/or awarded to the Riverina Conservatorium of Music in Wagga Wagga in 2018; and/or
- constituted or involved the dishonest or partial exercise of any of her official functions and/or a breach of public trust by refusing to exercise her duty pursuant to section 11 of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988 to report any matter that she suspected on reasonable grounds concerned or may concern corrupt conduct in relation to the conduct of Mr Daryl Maguire; and/or
- was liable to allow or encourage the occurrence of corrupt conduct by Mr Maguire.
The Commission is also investigating whether, between 2012 and August 2018, Mr Maguire engaged in conduct that involved a breach of public trust by using his public office, involving his duties as a member of the NSW Parliament, and the use of parliamentary resources, to improperly gain a benefit for himself, G8wayInternational/G8wayInternational Pty Ltd and associated persons. Geoffrey Watson, former counsel assisting the ICAC, wrote in the SMH:
It stands to ICAC’s credit that it took that difficult decision.
A glance at the terms of references of ICAC’s investigation demonstrates that the matter is sufficiently serious matter to warrant this course. The central issue is now a familiar one – it involves the questionable allocation of public money through grants. Specifically, the commission is investigating the 2017 $5.5 million grant given to the Australian Clay Target Association in Wagga Wagga for its clubhouse, in Maguire’s electorate, while Berejiklian was Treasurer. Maguire is accused of later trying to profit from the fit-out of the club’s new headquarters. The Premier has maintained that she followed all proper processes.
There is an additional question over whether the Premier personally approved the allocation of $20 million in funds for a Wagga Wagga music conservatorium while she was in a secret relationship with Maguire. Berejiklian has insisted she did not approve the funds. (Click here to read more)
What is sad for the Liberal Party is that the current Prime Minister and 2 former Liberal Prime Ministers have come out and supported Gladys Berejiklian even though she resigned because she is being investigated for corruption.

Neither Abbott or Turnbull mentioned the ICAC corruption inquiry, that Gladys Berejiklian will have to front in a couple of weeks, which says a lot about Abbott and Turnbull.
Most law enforcement agencies sweep government corruption under the carpet especially when it is a Premier so, it is good to see ICAC taking the action they are. Everyone who has helped shine a light on corruption, such as using social media to share acticles exposing corruption, should also feel as if you are achieving something.

Should be many more to follow Gladbag out the back door, imagine the workload of an equivalent Federal ICAC… won’t happen as both LNP and ALP would never ever allow a Federal external authority to investigate Federal MPs..both Qld and SA have watered down their own State equivalents so as to protect corrupt activities by MPs, no wonder Australia is in the list of 20 most countries in the world.
It amuses me that many Australians, mostly LNP voters, think that corruption is now par for the course. I have decided that if you can’t beat em join em. Corruption here I come. I need to build up a bank for my offspring. I have no fear of jail or death so here I go. When you see people opening tobacco shops selling illegal vapes and no sanctioned tobacco products in Peter Dutton’s electorate and getting away with it just spurs you on to do business in a country that is now so corrupt that it beggars belief. What a pity IBAC is not as effective as ICAC in removing dud politicians. It could act against Victorian Police Commissioner too.
According to Transparency International, Australia has dropped 8 points since 2012 in its Transparency Index. This coincides with the election of the Abbott government. Since then, things have got worse, not better.
Conversely, China has improved six points for the same period.

The gloating over Gladys in the SMH and Australian today is repulsive. She has been exalted and cheered by the SMH to levels of nausea. Labor premiers have been regularly castigated in the most biased ways possible via Newscorp and given no support in the SMH.
Yet Gladys has been so incompetent as the leader because it has been through her and her government’s actions that the spread both major Covid 19 infections throughout the country has occurred. First with the Ruby Princess then with the delta variant. We are now all paying a price for that.
And on top of that despite the announcements with flashing lights over climate change action she’s been a killer for wildlife and destruction of the environment, so much so that she attracted the hash tag sobriquet of “Koala Killer”.
I think newspapers like the SMH are now only propaganda machines for the Liberals and the Sydney neo rum corps cabal, and they only tell one side of the story. It also suits them to have another Sydney/NSW prime minister.
The media is way out of line here in Australia and I wonder how it can be stopped now from singing only the Liberal and National party right wing tunes. I cannot think of another country in the world that has such inbred insular media with virtually no diversity. Despite Fox News, it is even better, more diverse and freer in the USA. For Australian mainstream media we are a one government state, there is no other government but the Liberals.
With Gladys’ help as well, we have seen Morrison also working his poison politicising the virus to the point that it doesn’t exist as the real cause of the problem anymore. It’s all the fault of Labor states and they are the ones spoiling all the freedom and fun it appears. It’ s become like children complaining to their Labor dad because they didn’t get an ice-cream when they expected one.
Morrison and Gladys have cultivated this and we now have a disunified country of fiefdoms ruled by state and territory premiers more like warlords representing their own constituencies. So much for Machiavellian divisive politics so much loved by their Liberals and their media mates like Credlin.
Thankfully there is the KCA and a few other reliable independent sources of journalism now that don’t let them get a away with it. The other media is now just heavily mono-politicised junk food.

We can add iCare, the toll roads destroying heritage homes, sale of public assets to private interests, privatisation, destruction of major sporting arenas to be rebuilt by corporations paid for by the public, demolishing a public hospital at Mona Vale to build a publicly funded privately operated one at Frenchs Forest and much more.
Why can’t state ICACs. investigate senators, mhrs and Commonwealth “government” departments in the states where ‘suspects’ reside, and where ‘offences’ occur? eg, morrison by NSW ICAC, porter by w.a., mckenzie by Victoria, joyce by N.S.W., taylor by N.S.W. etc etc etc. The idea may well be outside the bounds of Australias’ constitution, but aren’t these few members also acting outside the constitution of the Commonwealth, and the states?……. I have no doubt that the individual states do not already have enough evidence to bring down entire sham “governments”, evidence should be acted on and/or made public.
And in WA we have the Liberals refusing to hand over a LAPTOP belonging to a Liberal Member Phil Edmonds who used government money for sex trips and personal expenses. The Upper House refuses to give the laptop back to the investigators – wonder why – Liberals got decimated in the last election, people were sick of the corruption and extreme religious right wing fruit loops getting pre selection. No chance for Australia when the PM openly pork barrels – sports rort is CORRUPTION and needs to be exposed as such – Absolutely no way using Government Money to buy votes is legal contrary to what Scomo and the Blind Trust Minister have to say. On ‘the Project’ last night, Malcolm Turnbull had the audacity to claim Berejiklian was ‘standing aside’ for the duration of any corruption hearing, and that was ‘the right thing to do’. No Fizza, she is resigning from politics altogether.
Turnbull just couldn’t help himself.
And only just a couple of days ago he was being lauded for his criticisms of Morrison. Which I guess just proves his Morrison effort was not about pointing out what it looked like but just that old private schoolboy getting even. He got shafted by Morrison, big time and he just didn’t see it coming. And that aggravates.
I would like to see a sound and full list of M.P’s who people can trust and are totally honest, with out any predigests. There are many band riders in the public arena with out any answers or sensible suggestions, but plenty of the so-called “I told you so”
To many fence sitters and not enough willing to take on the job of leading this great country out of it’s self imposed quagmire.
The resignation from Parliament is pretty much all one needs to know. I wonder though if she expressed limits on how far she was prepared to go for Global Pharma’s endless shots agenda, and they pulled their dead Premier switch in response.
Her resignation speech was remeniscent of Richard Nixon’s.
A resignation speech that did not address the central issues as to why their had to be a resignation … not being across all the detail (different state) it just sounded like a “smoothing of the icing on top of the cake” … my opinion? … I just think she is quite weird and another one good at delivering “round the world” word salads … Mr Speaker … “SHE CAN GO” … Mr Speaker
And now there is a choice for a new premier between a white middle aged private school educated right wing Christian male from a wealthy electorate, and a white middle aged private school educated right wing Christian male from a wealthy electorate.
Meanwhile, there are >900 instances of corruption within the federal government. The Liberals know they are corrupt, so they are delaying a federal ICAC as much as they can. Worse still, we were promised one >1000 days ago.
If this mob is re-elected next year, then we can kiss an ICAC goodbye.
Why is ICAC chasing Gladys but refusing to follow up Shane`s disclosures about judicial weaving and dodging? Is it because ICAC is staffed by lawyers who won`t investigate their legal brothers-in-arms? It used to be almost impossible to get action against lawyers by their Society until Legal Services Commissioners opened the floodgates.
Well lets see what comes out in the investigation.
I am very skeptical of this presumption of guilt, “what have you got to hide mentality?” that we are gravitating towards as a society. Reason being is powerful people can remain in the shadows, level allegations at anyone with no proof and exert great pressure/power over things that may very well prove to be totally unsubstantiated.
Also terms like ‘secret’ boyfriend etc. carry a prejudice with them – it’s not really anyone’s business who you may or may not be dating.
Lets see the substance of the allegations, and hopefully everything will be made public. It does seem very unusual to be granting these sums to these particular organisations and there is the wider issue of the amount of discretionary taxpayer money government ‘grants’ to all sorts of organisations. So long as people support government socialism in this way there will always be corruption as people find clever ways to feed at the trough.
I liked the original British Common Law approach in which one was guaranteed to be allowed to face one’s accuser and the same accuser had the burden of proof placed fair and square in his square. The accused was not expected to assist an accuser to prove the case.
