Angus Taylor, who would have to be Australia’s most corrupt politician, has given $7.5 million of taxpayer’s money to the Chinese and Singaporean owned company Jemena for an electrolyser to blend hydrogen with gas to reduce greenhouse gases. But all the money is going to foreign investors and experts say “emissions from hydrogen made from fossil fuels would still be “substantial”” which means the real beneficiaries are Angus Taylor’s and the government’s mates in the gas industry.
This website is focused on judicial and political corruption, not the environment, but what sparked my interest in this story is the fact that Australia is giving taxpayer’s money to foreign companies to undermine Australia’s emissions reduction obligations. Hydrogen produced by fossil fuels is more expensive, will release more greenhouse gas emissions and comes with a greater risk of creating stranded assets, according to new research from the Australian National University.
In the paper, published in the peer-reviewed engineering journal Applied Energy, researchers compared the emissions and financial cost of producing hydrogen using fossil fuels or renewable energy.
“Blue hydrogen” is produced using natural gas while “green hydrogen” is made by running an electric current through water using an electrolyser powered by renewable energy such as wind or solar.
“The Australian government needs to do more than have hopes and prayers and magical thinking in their modelling,” Hamilton said. “They need proper targets, proper policy actions to bring these emerging technologies to market, as they did with wind and solar 20 years ago.” (Click here to read more)
When it comes to the environment Angus Taylor’s main fucus is how much money he can make for himself from dodgy deals
We know that Angus Taylor conspired with Barnaby Joyce to rip off over $80 million via a dodgy water buyback scam so any time I see Angus Taylor mentioned in an article which includes government grants I always suspect he might have stuck his hand out for some cash to go into one of his Cayman Island bank accounts. People can debate the environmental benefits all day every day but what is very odd is the fact that if government didn’t hand over $7.5 million to Jemena they almost certainly would still have gone ahead with the deal anyhow. So why give a foreign company cash for something they would have done without the grant? It wasn’t lost on others as well as per the below comments:
Australia needs people we can trust to oversee Australia’s environmental policies and that certainly doesn’t include Angus Taylor who is meant to be the Minister for Industry, Energy and Emissions Reduction but he seems to spend most of his time promoting fossil fuels for his mates in the mining industry.
Angus Taylor has a real threat to his position in parliament with independent Penny Ackery running for the seat of Hume with the support of community group Vote Angus Out and others so hopefully Angus might be gone after the next election. And as everyone knows when a Federal ICAC with real power is legislated then numerous Angus Taylor deals will be investigated.
The bottom line to the above article is that Australia has wasted $7.5 million just so Angus Taylor can have a photo opportunity to promote himself and the government as doing something for the environment when they aren’t. So, it’s a blatant financial fraud and environmental fraud. Imagine how much money they will waste pretending they are doing something for the environment when the election is called.
I’ll try and keep a closer eye on environmental issues involving financial fraud leading up to the federal election.

For 35 years unscientific hypotheses about an unmeasurable, undefined, pseudo-scientific term “global warming” have been promoted by unscientific, politically driven fraudsters. The term “global warming” itself is misleading in the extreme. Scientists can attest that there is no temperature value representing an average for the atmosphere. Another unmeasurable term, climate, has been linked to imagined warming. Climate is the integrated effect of numerous related and unrelated weather events. The term climate denier is assigned to those who suggest climate has been changing cyclically since the Earth formed.
Just to remind you that science – and I am qualified as a scientist in both physics and chemistry – is only ever about repeated taking of measurements to prove a hypothesis or theory.
Without measurement there is no science.
Global warming is an appropriate term because since the beginning of the industrial age increases in average temperature on Earth have augmented and correspond with increasing greenhouse gas emissions. This is well established. So the Earth is warming up and there is hardly a genuine scientist in this world that works in the climate science field that does not agree. The extra heat can also be interpreted as extra energy and that causes imbalances in climate that are also measurable. As with polar vortex aberrations that are directly caused by the extra energy. The result of this is extreme climate change where temperatures can either exceed record heat or record cold. You cannot understand that unless you inform yourself about what polar vortex is and how it is affected. The effects of climate change are already with us and the world is experiencing climate extremes, ice melt, ridiculously high or low temperatures in weather extremes, and all these are also measurable.
If you say there is no evidence for human induced global warming then you are in fairyland and no one can convince you. I would also say you have not even bothered to look for it, or that you close you mind to it when it is presented to you, or that you have some personal reason to act to spread false information.
Your comments are very similar to those who promote misinformation about fossil fuels and agriculture’s greenhouse emissions and their role in global warming and how they nearly always turn up on any thread or blog where the intention is always there to deceive people who do not have any scientific knowledge.

Scientists are not stupid enough to not accept climate has always changed on this planet. It’s been both a fireball and a snowball in the past in terms of extremes. What is measurable this time and backed by monumental evidence, much of it already observable, is that it is humanly caused by greenhouse emissions all of which are measurable in the atmosphere and oceans, and that they increasingly trap heat as their concentration also increases.

They may remind you of the energy functions Entropy and Enthalpy, the impossibility of perpetual motion and the inevitable increase in disorder. You appear to hold a belief that a qualitative sensory perception, “warmth”, if measured in average temperature units supports other beliefs instead of the absolute heat (energy) content of the Earth layers in question. Point temperatures give direction to energy flux and that will always be from energy source to energy sink in absolute zero space, with no net retention on Earth nor other planets on the way. Temperature units are spatial and temporal and cannot be averaged.

Yes, climate change has indeed been coming over the horizon for eons. It’s been cyclic for sure. But this time the actual cycle is happening in one lifetime.
