Lachlan Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch forced to give evidence under oath in the US. Will they perjure themselves? We all know the answer!

Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch, who are both well-known international criminals who have committed crimes such as tax evasion and phone bugging, have been forced to give evidence under oath in the US.

Lachlan Murdoch gave evidence on Monday (5/12/22) and Rupert Murdoch is due to give evidence over 2 days next week.

The Washington Post reported (5/12/22)

Rupert Murdoch, the 91-year-old chairman of Fox News parent company Fox Corp, will be forced to answer questions under oath next week about his network’s coverage of the 2020 presidential election.

Murdoch will be deposed on the mornings of Dec. 13 and Dec. 14 as part of election technology company Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, according to a filing in Delaware’s Superior Court. The lawsuit alleges that the network purposely aired false claims about Dominion’s role in the 2020 presidential election to boost ratings and fight off competition from more-conservative-leaning television networks.

According to the filing, Murdoch’s deposition will be conducted remotely, via videoconference.

On Monday, Rupert Murdoch’s eldest son, Lachlan Murdoch, sat for an in-person deposition at a law firm office in Los Angeles. Murdoch is the executive chair and CEO of Fox Corp, and is considered to be the likely successor to his media titan father. James Murdoch, who was once chief executive of the then-Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox but has since cut ties with the family’s media entities, was deposed on Oct. 25. The Dominion court case could be the beginning of the end for Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch’s Fox News and its parent Fox Corp as they are also being sued by Smartmatic for $billions and the court cases might encourage others to sue Fox and the Murdochs.

The evidence that Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch give in the Dominion Voting Systems’ court case could potentially have an impact in another similar case in the US involving Smartmatic, which also supplies voting systems, who are also suing Fox News for the same reasons.

Update 8/12/22: I published the below video on YouTube which also has video of Rupert Murdoch previously giving evidence at the UK phone hacking inquiries:

And Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch’s evidence will almost certainly have an impact on Lachlan Murdoch’s defamation case against Australian website publisher Crikey which I wrote in an article in August titled “Lachlan Murdoch, who is the world’s best-known online stalker of women and children, sues news publisher Crikey for defamation” which starts off:

Lachlan Murdoch, billionaire Fox News and News Corp owner, is one of the most morally and ethically bankrupt business person the world has ever seen and he is currently trying to hide some of his crimes by suing the relatively small Australian news publisher Crikey.

I doubt Lachlan Murdoch was going to sue Crikey, but I suspect the game-changer was a full-page ad that Crikey ran in The New York Times calling on Lachlan to back up his threats to sue by filing and serving his defamation claim.

CNN reported:

Two months ago, Australian media site Crikey called “Murdoch” an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol. Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch’s lawyers have been battling Crikey ever since.

On Monday, Crikey published an open letter and took out a full-page ad in the New York Times, challenging Murdoch to sue the company. Tuesday, Murdoch did just that. (Click here to read more)

To understand why Lachlan Murdoch is suing Crikey you need to know who and what he is, how he operates and how it ties in with his current legal troubles in the US.

While Murdoch’s lawyers had been battling Crikey since the 29th of June when the article was published, I doubt they were going to sue but once The New York Times ad was published that likely changed things as that ad could potentially be used by the 2 US companies suing Murdoch and his companies for a total of over $4 billion.

The reason being is that the 2 US defamation cases against the Murdochs and their companies at least in part turn on proving that the Murdochs were personally involved in pushing various lies about Donald Trump and the 2020 US Presidential election being rigged. (Click here to read more)

If Lachlan’s defamation case against Crikey goes to a hearing it could end up being the Murdoch Royal Commission many people have been calling for as a half-decent barrister would go to town on Lachlan Murdoch on the witness stand. Crikey would possibly subpoena Rupert Murdoch to give evidence as well if Rupert wasn’t called as a witness for Lachlan. (Click here to read more)

The below video gives an overview of the August article and some further information:

Last week (1/12/22) Barrister Sue Chrysanthou, SC, acting for Lachlan Murdoch, confirmed that the News Corp co-chairman would give evidence in court next year and I have no doubt he will be asked about the evidence he gave under oath in the Dominion court case.

The Murdochs have dodged legal responsibility for their crimes around the globe for decades by having politicians in their pockets and bribing phone-bugging victims in the UK with multi-million dollar settlements.

But now the Murdochs are being held to account by 2 companies in the US with the deep pockets required to expose the Murdochs for who they really are. Dominion’s and Smartmatic’s court cases might end up being the tip of the iceberg that sinks the Murdochs.
