Sussan Ley has only been the Leader of the Opposition for just on 3 months but already the Murdoch media and people in the Liberal / National Party coalition are openly calling for her to go and/or undermining her.
Very few expect Sussan Ley to lead the opposition to the next election, which is due in 2028, but she might even be lucky to last until the end of this year.
I originally started writing an article about how Sussan Ley is an asset for the Labor Party because every time she is on TV she turns off voters the same as Peter Dutton did.
But after a quick bit of research, it is obvious the knives are already out for Sussan Ley and her days as Leader are numbered so she is really a non-issue.
I did a search on YouTube for Sussan Ley and the 2nd top video, as per below, was Sky News propagandist Andrew Bolt (11/8/25), who always pushes Murdoch’s lies, calling for Ley to be replaced by Andrew Hastie.
Hastie is also in the video talking about his leadership aspirations which isn’t showing any loyalty to Sussan Ley and is Hastie positioning himself for a tilt at the leadership at some point.
A couple of days later (14/8/28) Sussan Ley did an interview with Andrew Bolt, after being attacked by Bolt on Monday (11/8/25). Bolt was polite at the start but went on the attack towards the end. (Click here to watch the video)
I don’t watch Sky News because it is straight out Murdoch propaganda but both the Sussan Ley videos showed up near the top of a search on YouTube for Ley.
Sussan Ley is the Leader of the Opposition but feels she needs to jump when told and grovel to Murdoch propagandist Andrew Bolt which shows who has the real power when it comes to the Liberal / National Party federal coalition.
Given the coalition lost so many seats, Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch and their News Corp media failed to have an impact at the last federal election so why does Sussan Ley feel a need to grovel to them?
It is arguable that the Murdoch media cost the Liberal / National Party Coalition votes at the last federal election with their continued publication of lies masquerading as news.
Murdoch’s News Corp published their financial results a week ago and the SMH published an article titled “News Corp’s local papers bleed subscribers, compounding revenue struggles” which is consistent with the Coalition losing votes at the May 2025 federal election.
Sussan Ley’s history of financial fraud with government expenses, which I wrote about in May in an article titled “Liberal Party leader Sussan Ley’s expenses fraud! And is she worse than Peter Dutton?“, should have ruled her out of any key leadership position and the fact that she is leader shows how desperate the Coalition are.
Sussan Ley an asset for the Labor Party
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his government are already starting to resemble the Julia Gillard / Kevin Rudd second term which ended the Labor government in 2013.
The positive for Albanese and Labor is the Liberal / National Party opposition leader Sussan Ley comes across as being way out of her depth and every time she is on TV it aids Labor, not the opposition.
This week Sussan Ley was on the news attacking Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over Palestine as per below.
Not only did Ley come across very poorly, Nine also had quotes from former Coalition Prime Ministers Scott Morrison and Tony Abbott who are 2 people Ley should be trying to distance herself from, but maybe Nine thought Ley was not credible by herself.
It should also be said that Channel Nine quoting Scott Morrison and Tony Abbott does damage to Nine’s credibility.
The longer Sussan Ley is Leader of the Opposition the more the minor parties and independents become the real opposition holding the government to account.
The problem for the coalition is their number one candidate to replace Sussan Ley is probably Andrew Hastie who might be a better communicator than Ley, but that is about it.
Hastie’s public comments and policy positions make it clear he is in the pocket of the big political donors such as Gina Rinehart and the Murdochs which has led to the Coalition’s spiral to the bottom and they will continue to spiral downwards if they stay in the donors’ pockets.

With a dearth of talent on the opposition’s front bench, Sussan could be seen as a seat warmer. If she gets the Cessna out of the hangar, puts on her aviator glasses, and barnstorms rural Australia, I can see a future for her.
Yeah, in the Morrison era she was the one telling tradies they were going to lose their utes because of the change to electric vehicles.

That’s right thank you Jen, Cash was yet another horrible person in the coalition ranks. I think Ley was the person that told the Federal Court that she didn’t owe teenagers a duty of care as environment minister for giving approvals to massive coal projects… what a nice lady!
True to form the RW will blindly follow the Trump model down the anti Asia yellow peril route. The ACL will tout Hastie as a national hero and crusader for a RW theocracy like the US. Problem is 40% of Aussies subscribe to no religion. Crusader Rabbit Hastie and Sir Les Patterson (the wolverine team) will be something for us to look fwd to.

Concerned voters should always look at the LNP, more as a collection of religious fundamentalist factions fighting over control of what used to be actual political party’s. Take a look at your own electorate Liberal or National party rep or candidate and State Senate candidates. More than likely they are just another branch stacked fundamentalist. My one has her own evangelical church and congregation volunteering at election time. We have all seen the results of the Abbott Catholic fundamentalist faction disaster and then the Morrison evangelical faction catastrophe, after the routing of just about every moderate in the party’s. This has been inflicted in almost every electorate branch in the country.
Can you just imagine the boiling hatred these factions have for this mere woman Ley being imposed on them as their leader.
Ley may be absolutely hopeless, but she’s far better than any alternative lurking in the damp dark shadows of what used to be the Liberal party.

There were hopes that Susssssan Ley could turn the Liberal party around, but I was wrong. The first red flag is speaking about her support for social media age verification to us in a condescending manner and of the e-Safety commissioner, the creature who eventually went after social media users for expressing their opinion. She comes across to me as the female version of Peter Dutton, but even Dutton criticized the e-Safety commissioner before Ley pulled her back into line. There was a 10.2% swing against her this year, so she could be removed from office in 2028. Unfortunately, the 2 major parties this year did a dirty deal behind closed doors to make sure independents are locked out from entering Parliament.

Whenever I see Suss Ley, I am amused at her now trying to behave like an adult, after years of shreiking and heckling and being thrown out of Parliament. Let’s face it. There’s nobody worthwhile in the Liberal Party but the man I’m most afraid of,taking the lead, is Andrew Hastie.

The tide has shifted towards recognising Palestine and sympathy for the Palestinian people. And viewing Israeli actions as war crimes. Susan Ley will keep the opposition out of government for a long time until they understand that
Given the SMH appears to have made up that Hamas praised the PM over his Palestine statements the whole MSM is a disgrace. They all drank the neo-con koolaid instead of checking who make it. As for Ley…the LNP is an irrelevance this term, probably next and the one after at least so who cares who runs the muppet show. As for Sky News, they yearn from a Trump like opposition/Government however, when their viewer base at the nursing homes and the pubs are gone, so will their bile, and not soon enough.
While ever Coalition leaders (ie Peter Dutton) get legal advice from the leader of the Australian Zionizt Movement, they will continue to support Israel and show no care for thousands of innocent people and, sadly, supporting the murder of innocent children they will, and rightly so, remain in the political wilderness.
It is so sad that all these people, who clearly spent their youth chasing chased parked cars, are an unwanted accretion within the desperately misleadingly named Liberal Party. Where have all the real liberals gone?

That’s the only way the total corruption of major parties by zionists will stop…. if the majors work out that zionism is a huge anchor on their aspirations rather than a stairway to heaven…. the rats will change direction for self preservation, and jump off the sinking stinking ship SS zionism.
In my view, Sussan Ley as Leader of the Opposition is like a wet paper towel trying to hold back a flood. Three months in, it seems she’s already grovelling to Murdoch’s propaganda machine, showing exactly who appears to run the Liberal/National show.
Every TV appearance she makes feels like a gift to Labor – turning off voters faster than Peter Dutton ever could. Her past financial scandals suggest she should have been ruled out of leadership entirely, yet here she is, propped up by a party desperate enough to hand the keys to someone clearly out of her depth. Ley, in my opinion, isn’t a leader – she’s an embarrassment, a placeholder, and a walking political asset for the other side. If the Coalition thinks she’ll survive until next year, it seems they are kidding themselves.
And it seems to me that Andrew Hastie would be no better. In my view, his idea of leadership comes across as wielding a gun in one hand and a Bible in the other – a striking image of religious zeal and armchair militancy. He appears to show a shocking disregard for the people of his own electorate of Canning, seemingly deserting them when they most needed representation – a move that, in my opinion, would earn him a white feather in any code of honour.
His devotion to powerful donors like the Murdoch’s and Gina Rinehart seems to underscore how little independence he actually has. Hastie’s brand of “leadership,” it seems, belongs in a Hollywood script, not the real corridors of Australian politics. Replacing Ley with him would, in my view, be trading one disaster for another, just with slightly flashier theatrics.
