NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet lines up Amy Brown for a political hit in the John Barilaro scandal

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has greenlighted the sacking of Amy Brown, by his right-hand man Michael Coutts-Trotter, to cover up the John Barilaro $500,000 New York job scandal as the below video shows.

John Barilaro withdrew from the role after it was announced that the NSW Parliament would hold an inquiry into his appointment to the New York job. (Click here to read more)

Michael Coutts-Trotter, who is the Secretary of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and reports directly to NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, appointed Graeme Head to investigate the John Barilaro New York job scandal.

On the 12th of August 2022, Graeme Head handed his report to Michael Coutts-Trotter. The “Head Report” cleared all politicians and blamed Amy Brown who is Secretary of NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade. Amy Brown was also until recently the CEO of Investment NSW but it was reported on the 23rd of August that she had resigned from the role to focus on her position as Secretary of NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.

On the 18th of August and based on the Head Report findings, Michael Coutts-Trotter told Amy Brown he had formed a preliminary view that “she had not satisfactorily performed the function of Secretary” and gave her an opportunity to respond.

As the below video shows Michael Coutts-Trotter in effect was putting Amy Brown on notice he was about to sack her as  Secretary of NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.

On the 22nd of August, Amy Brown “communicated” with Michael Coutts-Trotter and “provided evidence” to support a request asking for 4 weeks leave. Michael Coutts-Trotter approved the leave which expires on the 19th of September and Amy Brown then needs to respond to the allegation “she had not satisfactorily performed the function of Secretary”.

The below video is fascinating to watch as everyone in the video knows that Amy Brown is having the political hit put on her by Premier Dominic Perrottet to cover up government corruption. What makes it even more interesting is that Michael Coutts-Trotter is married to federal Labor MP Tanya Plibersek yet he is the righthand man to NSW Liberal Premier Dominic Perrottet.

The video is from the NSW Parliament Budget Estimates hearing on the 7th of September 2022 where Labor MP Daniel Mookhey does all of the questioning with most of the answers coming from Michael Coutts-Trotter.

As I say in the video I have no sympathy for Amy Brown because she was happy to play the game when she thought she was on the winning side. Brown even sacked Jenny West last year to make way for John Barilaro to take the New York job.

It has previously been reported that the John Barilaro New York job scandal matter has been referred to the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption and hopefully they are having a good look at it.

  1. Perrottet wanted Barilaro out of the way going into next year’s state election. He knew teal independents would use him as a weapon in safe Liberal city seats just has they had done so with Barnaby in the federal election.

  2. I’ve read the comments so far and they’re all true, except for one omission. Amy Brown is just as much a part of that hornets nest deceptively cloaked as a government.

  3. Now that Amy has been sacked, how long before she starts to sing like a canary, leading to the collapse of the whole castle of weasels? Toad Hall will never be the same!
