Australia’s politicians and old media all talk about Australia’s cost of living and housing crisis but they are just symptoms of the real problem which is Australia’s corruption crisis.
If the Labor Party run federal government had stayed true to their promise at the May 2022 election to deal with government corruption, then they would be 10 or 20 points ahead in the polls and could make the tough decisions needed to address the cost of living crisis, the housing crisis and other issues that need addressing.
But the Labor Party sold out and have conspired with the Liberal Party to cover-up government corruption as I wrote in the previous article and other articles before that.
So, instead of having numerous Liberal Party / National Party politicians and staffers facing corruption charges and/or corruption investigations we have zero Liberal Party / National Party politicians and staffers facing corruption charges or investigations.
Except of course the 6 current or former politicians the discredited National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), claimed in September, they are secretly investigating.
Instead of having voters reading daily about Liberal and National politicians being held to account for their corruption, when they were in power from 2013 to 2022, voters read daily about how the Labor Party has done nothing to hold them to account except set up a fake NACC to hide corruption.
It means instead of having a government so far ahead in the polls they can make all the big changes necessary to improve the county we have a government to scared to do anything because they are neck and neck in the polls with a Liberal Party / National Party coalition who have some of the most corrupt politicians this country has ever seen.

Senator David Pocock discusses the housing crisis
On the 1st of October 2024 Senator David Pocock posted on Twitter:
We treat housing as an investment vehicle rather than a human right. Sensible changes to negative gearing/CGT discount will tip the scales in favour of first home buyers. It shouldn’t be easier to buy your 2nd, 3rd, 4th investment property than your first home. (Click here to see on Twitter) (CGT = Capital Gains Tax)
I posted the below video on YouTube (2/10/24) titled “Is the cost of living and housing crisis caused by government corruption?” which also has David Pocock talking about potential solutions to the housing crisis.
(Click here to watch the above video on the Kangaroo Court of Australia YouTube channel)
David Pocock spoke about some simple solutions, where no one loses, with benefits which would help reduce the housing crisis.
Senator Pocock suggested grandfathering the current negative gearing and capital gains tax incentives for people who are already utilising them for investment properties so they don’t lose out.
But moving forward limit or reduce how negative gearing and capital gains tax incentives can be used for investment properties so the problem does not continue to grow at least as far as investment properties helping escalate the problem are concerned.
They are not drastic changes but changes that would help but we have a federal government to scared to make simple and obvious changes because they are worried about their slim lead in the polls.
A self-inflicted slim lead because they would rather cover-up corruption than expose it which would help them win an election.
The cost of living crisis
The cost of living crisis is harder to deal with because it covers many issues but the bottom line is prices are going up at a rapid pace.
The Salvation Army website says:
Australia is in the grip of a social crisis right now. With costs of living – utilities, groceries and everyday essentials – rising disproportionately to wage growth, the average household budget is being stretched to breaking point for thousands of families.
Additionally, with historically low rental vacancy across the country, inadequate supply of social housing and thousands of families on wait lists for public housing, the situation is set to get much worse for Aussies already struggling to afford a full meal or a week’s rent to keep their families fed and safe.
Inflation, or the rising costs of living is putting thousands of Aussies under immense financial hardship, making it impossible for many to make ends meet. Additionally, the financial challenges affecting the community are adding to the immense strain community services and assistance providers are already facing in their efforts to try and help households facing financial hardship and other effects of inflation.
According to government and research data, over 3.3 million Australians, including over 700,000 children, are currently living in poverty, and 40 per cent of renters believe they will struggle to pay rent over the next three months. (Click here to read more)
Senator David Pocock’s post and video started me thinking about government corruption, which this website is focused on, and its effect on the housing crisis and cost of living crisis and they are linked.
As I said at the start the housing crisis and cost of living crisis are symptoms of the corruption crisis and if we deal with the corruption crisis it will go a long way to helping solve the housing crisis and cost of living crisis.
The $368 billion AUKUS submarine deal
Another example of the corruption crisis being the real problem is the $368 billion AUKUS submarine deal between Australia, the US and UK.
As I previously wrote “Anyone who has watched the AUKUS deal knows it is a huge fraud and it is nothing more than a massive slush fund for corrupt politicians to make a lot of money” (Click here to read more)
Imagine if the government cancelled the dodgy $368 billion AUKUS submarine deal and spent the $368 billion on the housing crisis and cost of living crisis. It would make a huge difference, but it won’t happen anytime soon because Australia is in the middle of a corruption crisis.
Having the politicians and old media telling us every day about the housing crisis and cost of living crisis is an insult when they won’t deal with, or even mention, the main cause which is the corruption crisis.
I’ll do a follow up article and video on this matter before the federal election which is due to be called in the next 6 months.

Categories: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

Do recall when Australia dumped the corrupt incompetent Morrison government while giving a fresh breath to a newly elected government mistakenly believing we would see honesty and intregidy in government, what an extreme disappointment to discover the newly elected government are as corrupt and incompetent as the one they replaced.
Albonese has no redeeming features to claim fame too, extremely weak, spineless and beholden to LNP and his true corrupt masters Murdoch and Washington, no light at the end of this tunnel either way, Dutton or Albonese both more interested in kowtowing to vested interests, both too spineless to push through legislation to prevent massive tax evasion we’ve experienced for decades, more important to waste billions on war efforts that have nothing to do with Australia. Sadly Australia is as corrupt as the most corrupt third world countries whom we’ll end like.
So true Toby.
Disappointing that Albanese has turned out to be so weak and ineffective.
This old party system of politics encourages corruption. Better to have politicians all independent and needing to have to be good negotiators and honest to push through their ideas.
Sadly we can only blame ourselves for the rubbish we have in parliament.
Many people do no research before voting or vote same as mum and dad did.
It’s such a horrible reality for people to bear as the increasing corruption along with all that it manifests destroys what was once or so it seemed was a half decent society. How much can people endure is the question I ask every day as like so many others who have some fading moral compass must do. You are an inspiration and if only there were more of your ilk.
I agree 100% with Toby Cee and David Pocock. They are exactly my thoughts. I feel that in many ways we are self-destructing on a spiralling downpath. Some may refer to it as the end of the world. I see it as the end of an era which has been dominated by greed and unethical practices and little compassion characterised by a FUJIA attitude – xxx You Jack I’m Allright.
At The Entrance in NSW the park bordering Tuggerah Lake has a growing community of residents. Being really a holiday destination the 2 caravan parks are either full, too expensive to stay long term or have too many undesirables to stay there with safety. The park dwellers are either in tents, vans or in their cars and range from elderly to people in their 20’s +. On a given winter evenng there would be 20-25 habitats, sometimes more as will be the case as it gets warmer. At The Entrance, on a given evening, there are plenty of empty holiday houses and airBnB’s, highrises being built at $1m + unit prices. The park residency has been growing since Covid restrictions lifted…I call it “Alboville” and is a sad indictment on the failure of housing policy under the LibLab/NP duopoly. The only solution is voting for independants and the Greens because the duopoly are looking after their developer mates…as it evidenced by the content of the HAFF.
Spot on KCA.
As long as we have the current 2party duopoly nothing will change.
The country is in desperate need of more independents the calibre of David Pocock.
IMO there should be no career politicians, 2 X 4 year terms max, no lobbyists in P.H. access by appointment only the same as every other citizen.
All politicians & public servants face immediate dismissal plus a life time ban from any public employment position.
and NO LIFE TIME PENSIONS and other BENEFITS.
The politician USING THEIR SALARY PAY into a private SUPERANNUATION fund that is transparent to the public.
REMOVE the title”!honorable” from any political office-
I am glad to see someone else feels as I do. Honourable hahahaha
So what are we going to do about it. Vote TIG at the next election?
Teal, Independent or Green. Alternatively we could vote for the GIT’s.
Yes, well said. I can’t see any way out, while we still have people supporting this behaviour by our governments. We all know it’s wrong but I can guarantee 90% of voters will vote exactly the same way they did last election, or the election before, for the two headed Lib/Lab snake, ensuring that this behaviour continues. I have always blamed the voters. We could be such a great country, with food, housing and good education for all, but we’ve chosen to follow a different path, with our votes. We’re enablers of this situation, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and injustice rules. Not all of us of course, I would never give my vote to a genocide supporter or a corrupt party. But most of us. Sadly, I think, as a nation, we deserve what’s coming to us.
Yes, they reap what they sow
Who can I vote for? Totally corrupt group with no moral scruples, heartless and leaning too far to the right and the lap dogs of Murdoch and the miners, or a group too spineless to stand up for the people of Australia.

There are many reasons why the tax system will continue to favour the higher tax brackets.
One is that most Australians own their own houses. The opposition will just say who wants to vote for a party that wants to decrease the value of your home by 20%?
Secondly I have seen it reported that many, or even most, Politicians own investment properties. This is obviously sensible of them because they are highly paid and they hate paying their fair share of tax as much as anyone. Do we really expect them to be so ethical that they would vote to eliminate this opportunity for themselves? If they do pass these laws then the rules will be carefully designed to ensure that the new law only effects new politicians and not the bipartisan old boys club. After all an ethical Australian pollie is a plain example of an oxy-moron.
The house design and construction rules need to be revised to reduce the cost of building. Perhaps the focus could be changed to building a cheap house that can be economically expanded to match the home owners needs and their financial position as they age and the family expands. Factory built houses that come as a kit would seem to be a path to this target. Our taxes should bear more of the cost of site preparation and the provision of services and roads. Standardised plans that would allow immediate approval and avoid a few thousand dollars for “design” and drafting.
Yeah I know we cant afford any more tax money for luxuries like a home, school, hospitals, aged homes and the rest. That’s because we keep voting for politicians who seem to be keen to assist Americans and others to get rich by giving away OUR natural resources at low tax rates and even paying subsidies to them so they can help themselves to what once belonged to us and our children. Just look at what Norway has managed to achieve by understanding that no one deserved to profit more from Norway’s resources than Norwegians. But that’s old news. For Australia its also highly relevant and still the best model around. Australians are now happy to give billions of dollars in aid to American and English companies that are associated with the AUKUS submarines! Not to buy Australian submarines, but to build facilities for foreign companies, in foreign countries, instead of spending that money to build facilities in Australia. We have a “democracy” and I guess that’s what the majority really, really want.
You’re right about the housing. Labor’s current plans are miniscule. This needs to be done on a crisis basis with a National Housing Authority running public housing building programs and massively training apprentices to build kit homes on an industrial scale. Kit homes could be up in two weeks at a time straight out of the factory.
Every property that is bought , is bought for investment, including the family home. Nobody buys property to make a loss. How many politicians own more properties then just the family home property?
Parents are under financial pressure with their grown up sons & daughters who cannot afford to move out due to the high rents.
Albo boasts about surpluses & keeps throwing our money overseas.
Stop it now Albo, you are supposed to be working for your employers, the Australian people. Also, how can corrupt politicians be Honourable? Remove the title.
Who runs the boot camp for all newly elected major party State and Federal government ministers?
No one could be born so immorally rotted to the gills, to suddenly become purposely oblivious to our nation’s people.
Thank you, KCA, for revealing our nation’s underlying corruption so deeply extant while shared by our two major political parties.
I further believe that Australia has finally adopted all the avarice and evils so beloved of the international plundering hegemonic US government administration.
The AUKUS (farce) agreement having introduced .3 of a Trillion dollars obligation in AUD dollars. (if converted to US dollars, .4 of a Trillion dollars, for our nation’s “bird in the bush” submarines.
I refuse to believe a US35 Trillion dollar indebted nation is no honourable nation, let alone trusted.
Our housing crisis and our cost of living crisis feels to me like a managed decline in living standards.
Australia is starting to look like Argentina one hundred years ago.
We need to improve our productivity.
Well, I read a good article that tracked the ‘creation’ of the ‘housing crisis’ back to the Howard era and changes to CGT Laws which sounds valid. People I knew were already profiteering off advantageous CGT that allowed them to buy multiple properties. I knew one person in their late thirties that owned 3 by the mid 1990s and now own at least 2 more.
The Labor and Liberal parties are really just organised crime gangs offering protection to media, mining, banking, gas, property, gambling and multinational corporations at the expense of the ordinary tax-paying Australian. Over decades, these political parties have been infiltrated by big business to take everything they can gets their hands on including massive government grants and approvals with no concern for the ‘little people’. When will Australians wake up to the fraud and robbery that has led to a housing crisis, cost-of-living crisis, price-gouging and rising profits while living standards fall through the floor?
Correct. This is far more than voting for the independents greens teal whatever moniker they put on it.
a long hard look and restructure of the systemS is a start, especially those that have surreptitiously been instituted in the last xx years – and removal of many of them.
Thanks KCA, I have been working on this general area of issues myself (as a project), given the current cost-of-living crisis and housing challenges facing the majority of Australians today. Here are some questions I have for the “powers” that be and as general discussion topics.
How do political donations influence government decisions, and what transparency measures are in place to prevent corruption stemming from financial contributions?
What protections are in place for whistleblowers who expose corruption within government agencies, and how effective are these protections in encouraging reports of misconduct?
How can increased public accountability for elected officials and government agencies help restore trust and address the corruption crisis?
What specific legislative reforms could be introduced to strengthen anti-corruption measures in government, and how have past attempts at reform been stymied by political interests?
What role does the media play in uncovering corruption and holding politicians accountable, and how can journalistic integrity be maintained in an increasingly polarised media landscape?
How does the corruption crisis disproportionately affect marginalised communities in Australia, and what steps can be taken to ensure equity in policy outcomes?
What are the long-term economic consequences of failing to address corruption, particularly in relation to foreign investment and economic stability?
How does public perception of corruption influence voter behaviour, and what can be done to educate the electorate on the links between corruption and everyday issues like housing and cost of living?
How does Australia’s approach to corruption compare to other nations that have successfully addressed similar crises, and what lessons can be learned?
And that is just for starters
Please feel free to copy and paste these questions into a letter / email to your own federal representative.
Both parties are a symptom of oldies and boomer ‘bomb’ being catered to vs outnumbered young i.e. cater to above median age voters via RW MSM – FIRE cartel.
Too many fall for glib dog whistling of ALP by media and influencers but ignore how bad the LNP had been previously then how many/most middle aged and older Australians own property, but coy on social/public housing investment; bipartisan like much xenophobia in Australia.
Aside from postcode issues, median house values in past decade have stagnated and apartments fallen; a sign demographic decline has started via boomer ‘bomb’, prices will follow…..
This country has never gotten over the Rum Corp mentality — deals for mates. John Howard was the master with his capital gains, superannuation and other tax changes that provided huge, ongoing profits for the already well off. His message was simple: this is free money forever. If Labor gets in they will take it from you so keep voting Conservative and you can keep the money. He was essentially buying government on an ongoing basis buy selling off the government’s right to tax and provide benefits for the not so well off. We’ve never gotten over this theft of public money and taxing powers.
I feel there is another important point to the housing/living crisis has been omitted from the article, it is unprecedented amount of people being imported to assist with economic growth is a chief contributor to the current housing disaster that will go on for years if rapid overpopulation is ignored.
There’s a deep denial within the government and media that population is the main factor driving housing demand.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that the impact of relentless economic growth, in its current form, is unsustainable for both the planet and the people who live on it.
Yes well, I would have to fully agree with this comment, especially when considering the strain on natural resources. The relentless push for economic growth through mass immigration not only exacerbates the housing crisis but also puts unsustainable pressure on water, energy, and land resources. Rapid overpopulation fuels housing demand while stretching our planet’s capacity to provide. Governments and the media must confront the reality that growth at this pace is not sustainable, not just for housing but for the environment as well. Responsible population management is essential to ensure long-term sustainability.
You are spot on as usual.
Why are foreigners who don’t live in Oz still able to buy our homes though NOT ONE MP ever mentions this..
