The National Anti-Corruption Commission’s biggest corruption finding so far was that the NACC’s own Commissioner Paul Brereton had engaged “in officer misconduct” by failing to properly recuse himself from the 6 Robodebt referrals matter.
The second biggest corruption finding would be that journalists Michelle Fay and Liz Minter were reporting lies about the NACC.
This is relevant for at least 3 reasons.
- If the finding that journalists Michelle Fay and Liz Minter are reporting lies is the NACC’s second biggest corruption finding, which I argue in this article it is, then it shows how incompetent and how little the NACC has achieved.
- New media need to replace the corrupt old media but there is little value doing that if the new media are just as corrupt as the old media. And to make sure new media is better than the old media it is important to report the failings of the new media as much as we do the old media.

Michelle Fay and Liz Minter, along with Anthony Klan and his website the Klaxon, were exposed by this website in September 2024 for stealing content and lying to their readers by withholding evidence to push a narrative that they are hero journalists breaking a big story and then trying to cash in on it.
At some stage after I published the article about Michelle Fay, Liz Minter and Anthony Klan in September 2024 they seemed to have disbanded their criminal enterprise and Anthony Klan stopped working with them.
Michelle Fay and Liz Minter started publishing a ‘big scoop” on the 9th of November 2024 on NACC corruption as per the below screenshot:
It was a 3-part series of reports with Michelle Fay and Liz Minter working together as the named journalists on the first 2 reports on the 9th and 13th of November 2024.
For the third report of their promoted 3-part series, published on the 8th of December 2024, Michelle Fay was the only named journalist and it’s worth noting that Liz Minter’s Twitter account is now deleted.
Given the second report by Michelle Fay and Liz Minter was published on the 13th of November which is the same day the NACC exposed them for publishing lies, as per below, I have to wonder if that had an impact on their working relationship and possibly caused a split.
On the 13th of November 2024 the NACC set up it’s own misinformation page which starts off:
“The Commission provides corrections to misinformation in the public domain to ensure that the media and the public have access to accurate information in relation to NACC functions and operations.”

Misinformation: ‘The NACC sent the Thales case back to Defence.’
Correction: It is a matter of public record that the NACC received a referral in relation to a Thales contract from the Department of Defence. The referral remains under consideration in accordance with the Commission’s usual processes. The Commission did not refer the matter back to Defence. A referral to the NACC does not preclude Defence from continuing its own investigation of the matter (s 39 of the NACC Act).
The NACC’s misinformation page does have 4 other reports of misinformation, but they were published the same day as the Thales report above.
It’s a bit rich for the NACC, which pushes misinformation by concealing government corruption and in effect saying, “nothing to see here”, having their own page to expose others misinformation about them.

Questions sent to Michelle Fay and Liz Minter
On the 14th of November I posted the below questions to Michelle Fay and Liz Minter on Twitter:
Dear @FahyMichelle and @LizMinter_, can you explain why you both published “misinformation”, as per the NACC’s statement below and screenshot of your article, about the NACC’s Thales / Defence contract investigation? (Click here to see on Twitter)
Michelle Fay and Liz Minter never responded to the above questions and to the best of my knowledge never denied publishing lies as claimed by the NACC above.
Everyone makes mistakes but given Michelle Fay and Liz Minter have a history of lying, stealing and deceiving I think there is a good chance that at least one of them, if not both, deliberately made up lies for their NACC / Thales articles.
All three work for other publications
Michelle Fay and Liz Minter and Anthony Klan have all published their articles on numerous new media websites and when they are exposed for lying and deceiving, they damage the credibility of all the media that have published their articles.
And when Michelle Fay and Liz Minter are called out by the NACC for lying in their articles that not only damages their credibility, but also damages the credibility of all new media who have been reporting on corruption at the NACC.
The NACC’s new “misinformation page” on their website allows the NACC to put doubt in the readers mind about the credibility of reports the NACC is failing their duty or is corrupt.
And the biggest story on the NACC’s “misinformation page” is the NACC / Thales story by Michelle Fay and Liz Minter who have also reported extensively with, and on, Anthony Klan’s website the Klaxon.
I have written about the dodgy reporting of Michelle Fay, Liz Minter and Anthony Klan a couple of times here and here and here and Klan still continues to knowingly publish lies on his website about the NACC which actually helps the NACC by blurring the truth.
The bottom line
This type of corrupt reporting by journalists needs to be reported by all new media to make sure new media does not become as corrupt as the old media.
If the above NACC findings about Michelle Fay’s and Liz Minter’s lies in the Thales articles is not the NACC’s second biggest corruption finding what is?
And if it is the second biggest corruption finding it shows how little the NACC has been doing given there are some huge low hanging corruption fruits from the previous Scott Morrison government that the NACC could have easily investigated and had people jailed for.

The NACC is useless as intended
The corrupted billionaire cartel media.
A real media, if it wanted to, could have shut down Robo-Debt, soon after the LNP ordered the changing to ATO yearly assessment, instead of the usual fortnightly. Everyone in all departments knew the calculations were wrong and unlawful especially the legal offices.
Read Rick Mortons “Mean Streak”! Instead the corrupted media LNP usual suspects were used by the LNP to intimidate and harass anyone fighting their false debts, by leaking their private details, to deter others from doing the same.
Every time I fill in a survey or go to any meeting, where we are asked, “What is the most serious, dangerous or immediate problem facing Australia”? I have always written or say, “Media corruption”, for decades now, it’s basically responsible for every problem this country now faces. Most people I speak to agree, it’s the number one problem. How can we solve any problem or investigate any offence, when the media is owned by a billionaire cartel that owns the LNP/Hanson and other politicians and refuse point blank to hold them to any account whatsoever, that just allows the LNP to flounder from one catastrophe to the next, in an endless spiral of failure.
While, relentlessly attacking Labor 24/7 with completely contrived nonsenses. Even the ABC is now drowning us, flooding the zone in this sea of LNPee Kool-Aid!
Labor politicians have to actually pay for advertising in this corrupted media to get any message out, because no MSM journalists are permitted to write about them, Labor are effectively boycotted in our media.
I believe it is Labor’s greatest failure not holding a RC and giving the media that much needed enema to flush out the S–t clogging up the truth and facts in the media in this country. How Labor expect to ever win elections under these conditions, where Labor’s achievements fixing the 9 years of LNP economic and social failure, are not permitted to be mentioned anywhere, period!
Couldn’t agree more, Tweed. Yes, Shane, we must be able to totally rely on the honesty of new media, or we are no better off, let down, again. I curse Albanese every day for his dismissal of a RC into Murdoch media, and he fully deserves everything they serve up to him. As they will.
Great article – if the NACC’s second biggest corruption finding is exposing journalists for publishing misinformation, it speaks volumes about how little the commission has actually accomplished. The NACC was supposed to root out serious corruption, yet it seems more focused on playing referee in media disputes rather than holding powerful figures accountable. This raises the question: is the NACC genuinely fulfilling its purpose, or is it just another bureaucratic entity protecting the status quo?
