Peter Dutton is obviously worried about losing his seat to independent Ellie Smith and has attacked her with lies in a mailout out to all voters in his seat of Dickson and has put up at least one billboard with the same lies, at an estimated cost of $40,000.
It raises numerous issues, and I’ll deal with the key ones.
Firstly, Peter Dutton has been in parliament since 2001 and I doubt he has ever spent 2 cents attacking an independent competitor before.
So, Dutton must be really worried about Ellie Smith given last week, 4 weeks away from the election, he spent $40,000 to attack her with lies.
Given Dutton has been in politics for 24 years, 9 years as a minister from 2013 until 2022, he should be campaigning on all his achievements in those 24 years.
The fact Peter Dutton is not campaigning on his achievements, and is instead using attack ads, says he himself doesn’t believe he has any achievements to promote to voters as reasons why they should vote for him.
I must say, I agree Dutton has no achievements to promote unless it was his ability to do dodgy deals like Paladin and Canstruct worth $billions and still manage to stay out of jail. That is one hell of an achievement.
Peter Dutton and his marketing team wouldn’t have spent the $40,000 unless they had research that showed Ellie Smith was a real chance of beating Peter Dutton.

Below is the front cover of the flyer Peter Dutton mailed to voters. It is an out and out defamatory lie but that is standard for Peter Dutton.
Below is the back cover of the flyer Peter Dutton mailed to voters. Peter Dutton obviously considers the voters of Dickson fools given he so openly lies in the flyer. Ellie Smith has nothing to do with The Greens and Dutton even puts a picture of The Greens leader Adam Bandt of the flyer.
The problem for Peter Dutton is, if you take out rusted on Liberal Party voters, there are more people scared of Dutton and the Liberal Party then are scared of The Greens. Why? The Greens have never been in power and didn’t give us Robodebt, the $billions stolen via JobKeeper and AUKUS etc.
The flyer will likely lose Dutton votes, not gain him votes and the flyer screams of desperation and panic by Dutton just like his recent backflipping on policy.

Below is Peter Dutton’s billboard, as it was early last week, with his picture and slogan on it. (It is to the left of Ellie Smith’s campaign truck)
The sign is located on Samford Rd as you drive into Samford. The billboard reskin and rental is estimated to have cost up to $5,000. The electorate wide mail out is estimated to have cost around $35,000.
Late last week the billboard changed to the below attack picture:
The Green image is blatantly a copy of Ellie Smith on her website as per below. Maybe a complaint of stalking should be made against Peter Dutton.
The irony is that politicians complain about lies on social media but the biggest liars are the politicians.
You can make a difference
I have written extensively on Peter Dutton and his corruption while in government and he is unfit for parliament and needs to go.
I understand that total supporter numbers for Ellie Smith and her campaign have surged past 2,500 people and are on their way to 3,000. And it is that support and the results they have already achieved that has forced Peter Dutton to respond or lose his seat.
So don’t get mad with Peter Dutton’s lies and corruption, get even by supporting Ellie Smith no matter where you are in Australia and if you do that you are potentially helping end Peter Dutton’s political career.

And this is why politicians should be bound by truth in advertising laws.
Exactly. They want to curtail our freedom of speech, while spreading their own lies to save their own necks. It’s so disappointing how many Australians will give their precious votes to proven liars, not to mention, to those whose allegiances are with a rogue State committing genocide. Can’t we raise our standards and expect better, this time? It’s not as though there aren’t already fantastic independents and small parties with 10 x the brainpower and human decency of Dutton and Albanese. Look at Barbara Pocock, as one example. We need more, much more, of that.
Many young people are not fully aware as they have grown up with these behaviours for the last 30+++ years esecially- And like most people when they are young they think they know it all.
That is not criticism of young people, but a fact of human behaviour.
REASON WHY ADULT status was changed to be 18 years of age.

I am in the electorate of Goldstein where we have an outstanding Independent representing us: Zoe Daniel. Letterboxes have recently filled with a flyer very similar to the one you have written about with its shocking lies, re Zoe’s supposed strong connection to the Greens.
It makes my blood boil that the Liberal Party are such cheats who seemingly get away with creating such dishonest material.
Much as I despise the Duttster, I can’t blame him for AUKUS. That disaster was Morrison’s turd-baby that Albo inexplicably decided to carry on with when he didn’t have to, probably in some weird concession to Marles and the R faction, which of course take precedence over the sovereignty of our country. (rolls eyes out of head) Sick of the lot of them but really hoping to see Dutts booted.

Why would Peter Dutton accuse Ellie Smith of being a “Greenie at heart”? Do we know what Ellie Smith’s policies are? Perhaps her policies are similar to those being advocated by the Greens?
When you look at Duttons LNP/Media election strategy tactics, it’s basically all misinformation, disinformation and lies and the deplorable social media online abusive trolls. It’s all they really have and as KCA have pointed out, they have zero achievements they want to mention during this campaign. They won’t even mention that Dutton’s LNP were in Govt just 3 years ago for 9 wasted years and caused this financial cost of living catastrophe, they are now desperately attempting to blame Labor for. Thats pretty bloody damning inditement right there isn’t it?
Did you guys see the Charmers/Taylor on the LNP/Media debate last night, any casual observer would have thought Charmers was debating the moderator Ross Greenwood, what a shocker, its was so corrupted. That said, we are now with this sociopath Trump, living in some extremely frightening financial times. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I desperately want Albanese and Charmers to stay in office and keep doing what they have been doing these last 3 years.
You can vote for Smith, but make sure you second preference is Ali France, because that may be the difference between unleashing a Dutton disaster and keeping Albanese and Charmers repairing the LNP damage and resisting the Trump nightmare?
For me, I would vote for Ali France and have the actual Dickson member representative in the Govt, not just Smith another independent as a spectator on the sidelines watching on!

We do not know what shall happen when the numbers come out on polling night, MAYBE this shall be more of a coming together of like minded Independents to vote propose and vote on issues that are ignored bfir years now by the two major parties.,?

I absolutely agree KCA, the NACC is very disappointing! The Robo-Debt inquiry was a shocker. And failed set up of the RC into the Murdoch media.
If you look at Dutton’s parliamentary record he barely ever even turns up to sessions. He spends most of his time either on 2GB or Sky News. He is one of the laziest public servants ever. He treats it like a side gig. It IS a side gig to him.
When you look at Dutton as a real estate investor that has a side interest in politics, it becomes more clear, doesn’t it?
Dutton may have blown his chances at winning the election. He backed down on his Trump-style politics like cutting the public service and banning working from home. He also put up a candidate in Whitlam, only to disendorse him for comments Dutton didn’t like (I agree with them). If Menzies was still alive, I am sure he would have something to say about how the new Liberal party was willing to break their own core beliefs.
I cannot understand why anydecent human being disparages anyone who cares passionately about caring for our environment. My mother was a Greenie who wasted nothing, tilled the earth and kept harmful toxins away from it. Our planet is suffering immensely because of people like Dutton for whom the accumulation of wealth is the be all and end all of their existence. They have no soul or capacity to breathe in and be at one with our beautiful earth.
It seems we are supposed to see evil as good and good as evil, these days. It won’t work on me.

Peter Dutton’s latest stunt is nothing short of a political disgrace, and his desperation to retain power is as transparent as it is pathetic. Here is a man who, after spending over two decades in parliament, has absolutely nothing of substance to show for it, yet now resorts to vile tactics to smear a worthy independent candidate, Ellie Smith. It’s clear that Dutton, unable to stand on his record – because let’s face it, there isn’t one worth mentioning – has taken the low road, throwing hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars at spreading lies and misinformation.
Instead of talking about his so-called ‘achievements,’ he’s busy trying to deceive the people of Dickson with dishonest mailouts and billboards, using misleading propaganda to tarnish Ellie Smith’s reputation.
This is what happens when a politician’s only tool is fearmongering and deceit. How much more transparent can Dutton’s panic get? His attack ads don’t just expose him for the coward he is – they highlight his utter disregard for truth, integrity, and respect for voters. It’s a sad reflection of just how far he’s willing to go to keep his seat, regardless of the damage he does to democracy in the process.
To put it bluntly, Peter Dutton’s campaign isn’t about winning on merit – it’s about clinging to power by any means necessary. His behaviour not only insults the electorate, but it also insults the very idea of what it means to serve in public office.
He may have fooled a few people for a while, but as his smear tactics become more desperate, more and more Australians are seeing through the façade. This is not leadership. This is a man terrified of losing the grip he’s held on power for too long, and it’s become painfully obvious that he’ll sacrifice whatever shred of credibility he has left to maintain it.
Do your research on characteristics of Anti social personality disorders, then Sociopaths and the top rung is Psycopaths and there you can see what is going on throughout the World in terms of destruction and so many other negatives.
Did you know that these characters believe that they are ALWAYS RIGHT.
That they must ALWAYS WIN at any cost.
They KNOW EVERYTHING and can be so charming then turn and wreak havoc. and so much more.

Society now encourages the “ME” people, many would have been in Psychiatric Centres – they were provided years ago, then sold off and money made from the sites that those hospitals were built on. Community pressures stopped this type of behaviour emerging years back.
People who have made up their mind to vote independent anyway probably hold a lot of similar values to a Green voter in fact the atmosphere has been palpable for months that a great deal of voters are looking for an alternative as their ballot intention. So it was a huge waste of money on a number of counts.

More evidence that Dutton is afraid of losing his seat is the number of times he has been filmed pumping petrol. He is practicing to be a bowser attendent.

The long term voting trend is for both the major parties’ primary votes to decrease, and for that of the Greens, independents and teals to increase. When the two trend lines intersect (May?) the political duopoly (there’s really not much difference between them policy-wise) should end. That’s why the two major parties are so scared of people like Ellie Smith. Lots of other countries have coalitions (the most recent Germany) so scare campaigns about hung parliaments should be ignored.

Anyone that embarks on a slur campaign isn’t there for the right reasons. Dutton’s trying to secure his future beside the rest of the slimy people who rule the so called free world. He’s someone, or another one who lacks basic integrity. The 2 party system needs to be torn down, imagine what it would be like having people running the country who don’t have a hidden agenda. People need to move away from voting for the 2 major parties.
