The Labor Party are again trying to silence public criticism of them after they failed last year when they tried to introduce misinformation and disinformation laws to silence social media users.
If you think Labor just said it’s too hard to silence public criticism you are wrong.
Jordan Shanks, aka Friendlyjordies, is one of the highest profile YouTubers Labor are using to attack independent journalists and media that have been holding the federal Labor government to account.
It’s also Shanks job to encourage his followers to also attack independent journalists and media.
Make no mistake, this is not Shane Dowling v Jordan Shanks it is the Labor Party v independent journalists and media.
If independent journalists and media don’t defend themselves when needed then there will be very few independent journalists and media in the future.
Labor has a 2-pronged approach.
Firstly, Labor is trying to groom and pay independent media to write positive stories about Labor as I wrote in an article on the 27th of March 2025 titled “Labor Party paid new media for budget propaganda”. (Click here to read the article)

The second tactic is to have Jordan Shanks, aka Friendlyjordies, to attack independent journalists and media with out and out lies.
The rest of the story so far is outlined in an email I sent to Jordan Shanks’ / Friendlyjordies’ lawyers as per below:

Your client, Jordan Shanks-Markovina (AKA Friendlyjordies), raised over $1million on the pretence of using the money for legal fees for his defence of defamation proceedings instituted by John Barilaro. It raises the below questions:
- The SMH reported on the 15th of July 2021 “Sydney law firm Xenophon Davis – which is defending Shanks-Markovina – announced it had been deposited $1,060,300 ahead of the legal battle.” Was the money deposited into your law firms trust of another bank account?
- Can you advise on what date Jordan Shanks (AKA Friendlyjordies) started raising money for his legal fees and on what date did he finish raising money for the John Barilaro defamation case?
- On what date did Jordan Shanks settle his matter with John Barilaro?
- Can you advise how much in total was raised?
- Given the matter was settled before trial, with Mr Shanks paying John Barilaro a reported $100,000 and his barrister making an apology in court, can you advise where the rest of the money is, or has gone?
- Can you advise how much was left after the court case was settled?
- Has any of the more than $1million raised been returned to the people who donated the money? If not, why not?
- How much of the $1million went to Jordan Shanks and how much went to Friendlyjordies producer Kristo Langker?
- How much of the $1million has been paid to XD Law & Advocacy?
- Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said, in a published letter on his website, that he donated to Jordan Shanks (AKA Friendlyjordies) “legal fund”. How much did Kevin Rudd donate? Was Kevin Rudd refunded his money given the John Barilaro matter settled?
In October 2024, just before the Queensland state election, Jordan Shanks published a video on his Friendlyjordies YouTube channel titled “Whinge Merchants” attacking “about 3 dozen” independent journalists / commentators with lies for holding the federal Labor Party government to account. One target, Punter’s Politics, identified that he was targeted by Jordan Shanks in the “Whinge Merchants” video, and he published a video titled “My Response to Friendly Jordies”. (Click here to watch the video)

I wasn’t aware Jordon Shanks had posted a new video attacking me but I started getting messages in the comment section on my YouTube channel asking why I am being paid by paedophiles and calling me a corrupt paedophile.
I was notified that there was a post on the Friendlyjordies Reddit supporters page with the heading “Shane Dowling is a corrupt paedophile”.
I joined the Friendlyjordies Reddit supporters page so I could ask the moderators to take it down.
They refused, blocked me and then posted my request for them to take it down.
The moderator said in a comment that Friendlyjordies says I am a corrupt paedophile in his video so that makes it ok for them to post it.
The moderator who posted it even says in the post how he doesn’t care about being sued for defamation.
I watched the video, and Shanks does not mention or address where the $1 million he raised for legal fees went, which I raised in my video and article. But Shanks spends a long-time denying being paid by the Labor Party for the propaganda he pushes on Labor’s behalf.
Shanks then spends about half of the video attacking me and says I’m a confirmed corrupt paedophile because that is what I accuse everyone else of being.
And later in the video Shanks says me claiming he is paid by the Labor Party is like saying some of my followers might be paedophiles and corrupt. And therefore, I am funded by corrupt paedophiles and therefore I am a corrupt paedophile for not going to the police.
Jordan Shanks video was clearly “using a carriage service menace, harass, or offend” which Shanks designed it to do and encouraged his supporters to attack me after he published the article.
As a law firm I am sure you would know that is in breach of the Criminal Code Act 1995 – section 474.17 – using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
Questions:
- I published a tweet about Anthony Albanese on the 18th of November 2024 which says: All sides of politics have been happy to grovel to Alan Jones even though THEY ALL KNEW he was a sexual predator. The picture is from the 9/5/22 just before the federal election when Albanese was chasing votes. - Kevin Rudd has ties to Jeffery Epstein as reported by the SMH on the 28th of October 2020 in an article titled “Rudd backs Friendlyjordies as serious ‘broadcaster’ despite controversial acts” (Click here to read the article) The article names Kevin Rudd, Jordan Shanks and Jeffery Epstein.
Given Jordan Shanks has interviewed Kevin Rudd many times can you advise in which video Jordan Shanks has questioned Kevin Rudd about his relationship with Epstein? If not, why not?
- Jordan Shanks has also raised $81,487, of a targeted $200,000, for the “Wombat Trust” which says on his website “The Wombat Trust is a fund created to help cover the hidden costs like admin and printing that often prevent lawyers from taking on pro bono environmental cases.”
And it says on the crowdfunding page “XD Law Firm will be assisting us with this endeavour.”
Can you advise how much of the money has been paid to XD Law & Advocacy and how much has been paid to other law firms and who are they?

I put the questions to the lawyers because Jordan Shanks refused to respond to my question of where the $1million is, and he instead did an attack video on me. So, this is my response.
The lawyers haven’t responded at this point but lawyers have legal obligations when it comes trusts and raising money for cases etc and so do the public.

Am I correct that KCA has in its desire to expose corruption “gone in to bat” for Friendlyjordies’ joust with corrupt police, arson and what may amount to attempted deliberate or otherwise murder.
Now Shanks Friendlyjordies turning on KCA displays their true morals.
Where is the money Shanks ? Very simple question.
I’m unable to answer in that it might incriminate me and those that facilitated the collection and dispersal of said money.
The ABC use some of their journalists as influencers, it’s obvious many times in Albaneses’ daily media conference’s there are ABC journalist who have prepared questions by the Party to ask a so called Dorothy Dix question, prepared for Albanese to answer. These journalists are employed by the Australian Broadcasting Coporation which receives huge amounts of funding from the taxpayer, and I see these Dorothy Dix questions being purposely asked by journalist “influencers” to help politicians to be elected on false pretences.
With so much corruption NOT being investigated, it always gets me that journos ask such puerile questions. Are they reading a provided script or just trying to avoid getting their press access curtailed? Reminds me of Old Joh (not Biden) talking about ‘feeding the chooks’, an expression probably lost on the current generation with the demise of fowl runs in our backyards.

Smear campaigns are everywhere these days. In the US it began with the McCarthy era. Here in Oz it goes back to the beginning of the Murdoch empire. No, not the current Darth Vader, ‘ol Rupe, but his old man.
A classic example in Oz was the evil campaign to destroy Bruce Pascoe, when he published Dark Emu. Sky News had a field day with Andrew Bolt and that broom factory test pilot, Peta Credelin leading the pack.
