Foreign Minister Penny Wong told the Senate on Monday, as per the video below, that Australia is supplying Israel with “non-lethal” F-35 fighter Jet parts that Israel is using in Gaza to kill Palestinians.
Since when is a fighter jet “non-lethal”? It shows the contempt Penny Wong has for the Australian public for her to say such a blatant lie in Parliament.
Penny Wong’s claim that the parts are “non-lethal” will not only go down in history as one of the dumbest comments ever made by a politician, but is almost certainly an attempt by Penny Wong to defend herself against any future claims that she has aided and abetted a genocide or war crimes in Gaza.
Below is the video where Penny Wong makes the infamous claim that Australia is supplying F-35 fighter jet parts to Israel, used in Gaza, but she says they are “non-lethal”.
The video below is a must-watch and starts off with Greens Senator David Shoebridge asking a question about Gaza, and then he asks a follow-up question about Australia supplying weapons to Israel. The below video also has comments Senator Shoebridge made about Penny Wong’s ridiculous answers and a post on “X” by Senator Shoebridge.

A couple of comments on YouTube under the above video:
- “Non-lethal part and F-35 is an oxymoron”
- “F-35s have dropped the equivalent of 8 Hiroshima Nukes on Gaza in 22 months – which part of the F-35 is non-lethal?”
- “Penny Wong held so much promise, South Australians are all shamed by this morally bereft behaviour”
- “Penny Wong trying to weaponise the valid concerns as inappropriate are disgusting. Wong and Albo have made us complicit in genocide – this makes my blood boil, pure evil.”
It must be remembered that on the 21st of November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu for:
“Allegedly responsible for the war crimes of starvation as a method of warfare and of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024.” (Click here to see on the ICC website)
An arrest warrant was also issued for Yoav Gallant, the former Minister of Defense of Israel and Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on 13 July 2024. (Click here to read more)
On the 29th of July 2025, it was reported:
French lawyers have submitted a request to the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for an investigation into the role of French officials “in the commission of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide” by Israeli forces against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
In a 56-page communication made public by the French investigative media outlet Blast on Monday, the 114 lawyers named President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Francois Bayrou, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Minister of the Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu and 19 lawmakers of the National Assembly’s European Affairs Committee.
A communication to the ICC is the equivalent of a criminal complaint to the court on an alleged crime falling under its jurisdiction. (Click here to read more)
The 114 French lawyers making a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) helps explain President Emmanuel Macron’s “shock announcement last week of France’s plans to recognize a Palestinian state” and the United Kingdom, Canada and likely others following France’s lead. Given the arrest warrants issued for Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu and others, and a complaint by 114 French lawyers about President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and other politicians being sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC), it does make sense why Penny Wong would be worried about Australia’s role, and her own personal liability, in aiding Israel.
Penny Wong’s concern about her own liability would explain her “non-lethal” comment. Penny Wong is a lawyer, so she would fully understand and appreciate she also could have a legitimate complaint made against her to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
ICC Complaint against Anthony Albanese, Penny Wong and others in March 2024
I published a video of the complaint, as per below, in March 2024 titled, “PM Anthony Albanese referred to the International Criminal Court as an accessory to genocide in Gaza.”
(Click here to watch the above video on the Kangaroo Court of Australia YouTube channel)
Key details are: Australian law firm, Birchgrove Legal, made a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in March 2024. The complaint referred senior Australian politicians, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, for investigation into whether they aided or supported Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The referral alleges that these politicians violated the Rome Statute by providing political and material support, such as freezing aid to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and permitting Australians to join the Israel Defense Forces, which the firm claims constitutes complicity in alleged war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. (Click here to read the full letter of compliant)
I have no doubt, in years to come, more and more politicians around the world will have complaints made against them for supporting Israel’s war crimes and genocide in Gaza.
We have all seen the evidence of Israel’s war crimes and genocide in Gaza on the internet and TV. So, lies and spin by politicians like Penny Wong won’t achieve anything except shine a light on their own guilt.

“Contempt” is exactly how Wong and Albanese hold the Australian public. Wong held such promise, but she’s shown her true character now. Just another common, garden variety liar.
The ALP does that. When you sign up to the ALP, you sign up to toe the party line. So you sacrifice personal integrity for team unity. It’s the nature of the beast.
Restating known facts about Australian politicians is OK. Has anyone made complaint about Hamas?
Be equivalent to lodging a complaint against the French resistence during WW2.
Is Labor trying to out Coalition the Coalition
No more votes
Aussie Bob
I’d say the sale of these parts has a lot to do with the economics of Australia’s debt. We need the money!
The Productivty Commission report targeting big business for higher taxes should be only part of the economic reform.
Australia needs to look at other measures like negative gearing, capital gains tax etc, etc.
THEN maybe we won’t need to sell munitions to Israel!!!
I’ve supported Labor for years. Under Albanese I’m disgusted. Im sure he’s just a greedy little p****. He’s getting the most he can out of his parliamentary term.
The background to so may decisions by Labor currently, is greed.
Plus the constant banging on about their support for a two-state solution complete with the necessary pre-conditions such as solution would entail (e.g., no Hamas involvement), no evidence of having asked any Palestinian what they would think about it, and absolutely no idea of how it could work. Still, it beats doing anything that could be considered worthwhile.
Let’s get one thing straight: to be included in the Leadership of a political party, one must be able to lie and keep a straight face. But to join Albo on the same platform, a contender must not outdo the supreme leader. Both Worship at the Altar of Socialism and its control of the people, who are prevented from challenging the mumblings of Leadership, regardless of whether the mumblings are right or wrong, they are the mumblings of Liars and Rogues who at present lead our country towards the cliff of total Socialism.
Nothing socialist about the conservative, centre right Labor government.
Oh goodie, can I now pop down the road to Buy a non lethal S&W 357 Magnum ?
Thank You KCA – good work, as has come to be expected now!
Open Letter to Prime Minister Albanese and Senator Penny Wong
Subject: Misleading Use of the Term “Non-Lethal” in Describing Military Exports
Dear Prime Minister Albanese and Senator Wong,
I, along with many other Australians, am sick and tired of the misleading claims and half-truths surrounding our country’s involvement in lethal weapons exports.
I write as a concerned Australian to express my unease over recent remarks in the Senate by Senator Wong, in which Australian-supplied parts for F-35 fighter jets were described as “non-lethal.”
This characterisation is deeply misleading – legally, morally, and from a public policy perspective.
The F-35 is a combat aircraft designed for one purpose: to deliver lethal force. Any part that enables it to fly, locate targets, or release weapons is a critical enabler of that lethal function. Describing such components as “non-lethal” simply because they do not detonate or fire is a semantic escape from their true purpose and effect.
Legally:
Australia is a signatory to international arms control treaties and maintains strict export laws that assess parts based not on whether they explode, but on whether they contribute to the operation of a weapon system. If a part is essential to the function of a fighter jet designed to kill, then it is militarily significant. Calling it “non-lethal” obscures this reality and weakens the integrity of export oversight.
Morally:
Language matters. Calling components “non-lethal” sanitises our role in warfare. A bolt in a bomb rack or a sensor in a targeting system is not morally neutral simply because it doesn’t fire a projectile. If it enables lethal force, it shares in the responsibility for its use.
As public policy:
This language risks undermining public trust and accountability. Australians have a right to know the extent of our involvement in foreign conflicts, especially where serious human rights concerns may be present. Euphemistic descriptions such as “non-lethal” blunt democratic scrutiny and obscure the full picture of our defence exports.
In short: If a component is essential to a killing machine, it is part of that machine. Dismissing it as ‘non-lethal’ misleads the public and diminishes Australia’s ethical and legal standing.
I urge the Albanese Government and Senator Wong to adopt language that reflects the true function and consequence of military exports. Australians deserve clarity, not obfuscation.
Respectfully,
A very concerned Australian citizen

as Australia is just another ‘gangster’s moll’ to the USA, our government was obviously ORDERED to send ‘made in AmeriKa’ F-35 parts from the RAAF to Israel (or suffer the ‘consequences’ from the Israel-lobby in USA & Australia)
Who’s to say they will not be let off entirely like war criminal John Howard?
It would be some sort of weird karma if the Labor government is taken to international court after they have gone out of their way to protect the various Coalition government’s high crimes over time.
Who’s to say? The NAC, that’s who!
