Police employee charged over alleged antisemitism posts on social media

Muamer Nukic, a member of the Queensland Police Service’s Protective Services Group and a self-described anti-Zionist, has been charged with 41 counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass, or cause offence over alleged antisemitic comments on social media.

But 2 key elements suggest that Muamer Nukic has been stitched up on false charges and is being persecuted.

Firstly, key evidence produced in court, as per below, doesn’t support an alleged crime on antisemitism.

And secondly, the police prosecutor wanted bail refused in a case relating to social media posts which is scandalous.

With governments around the country either introducing, or planning on introducing, new so-called hate speech laws this article is a must read.

Background

The SMH reported on the 5th of January 2026:

A member of the Queensland Police Service is accused of dozens of charges over allegations he published antisemitic comments for years, including on posts about 10-year-old Bondi massacre victim Matilda.

Muamer Nukic, 50, from the Protective Services Group, was charged on Monday, with a Brisbane court hearing he was a self-described anti-Zionist. (Click here to read more)

The ABC reported on the 5th of January 2026:

Muamer Nukic, a QPS Protective Services Group employee, was charged with 41 counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass, or cause offence.

The 50-year-old appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday after being arrested earlier in the day.

The court heard between February 2024 and January 2026 Mr Nukic, a “self-proclaimed anti-Zionist”, posted offensive comments on multiple social media platforms.

Police prosecutor Matt Kahler told the court the posting was “persistent” and “no doubt menacing and harassing” to members of the community.

“Very antisemitic in my respectful submission and publicly available,” he said. (Click here to read more)

The SMH:

Police prosecutor Matt Kahler told the Brisbane Magistrates Court that Nukic’s alleged offending had spanned years.

Nukic allegedly commented on a Threads post that featured Bondi shooting victim Matilda, saying “zionist scum”.

“And if anything since the incidents at Bondi, it continues, publishings of the young girl Matilda who was murdered in Bondi, a 10-year-old, and says allegedly ‘f— you’ and ‘f— Israel’,” Kahler said.

“He seems to have shown no insight into this offending … he puts it down to free speech, but it’s not free speech, it’s completely offensive, it’s inappropriate.”

Kahler opposed Nukic’s application for bail. (Click here to read more)

What was discussed in court was not a post by Muamer Nukic, but Nukic’s comments on a post by Menachem Vorchheimer as per below which was posted on the 1st or 2nd of January 2026. It is posted on Threads which is a social media website.

Muamer Nukic 1

Menachem Vorchheimer’s post above also has a picture of 10-year-old girl Matilda who was killed at the Bondi shotting. But I have decided not to post the photo. (Click here to see the full post on threads)

Muamer Nukic first reposted the below comment by duane.jones, who was responding to Menachem Vorchheimer above post, and Nukic also commented himself below that saying “well explained”: (Click here to see on Threads)

Muamer Nukic 2

And then Muamer Nukic commented the below which was clearly directed at Menachem Vorchheimer. (Click here to see on Threads)

Muamer Nukic 3

The ABC and the SMH reports sound like Muamer Nukic’s comments are directed at 10-year-old Bondi shooting victim Matilda. but they aren’t and are clearly directed at Menachem Vorchheimer.

The SMH also quoted the magistrate who laid out the case the police prosecutor presented to the court against Muamer Nukic:

“There is a consistency to the theme underpinning the messaging that is self-described as being anti-Zionist, that is asserted to go beyond simply that, and be anti-Israeli broadly and to be expressed as being supportive of … prescribed terrorist organisations including Hamas, Hezbollah and Ansar Allah,” Shillito said.

“I think it is demonstrable from every single one of them … that any pro-Palestinian ideologies that might underpin the defendant’s commentary is wholly outstripped by the nature of the comments and the acts that his comments are said to be supportive of, including repeated and recent acts of violence against persons, including in Australia, noting that there are comments responsive to posts about the recent Bondi attacks.” (Click here to read more)

Menachem Vorchheimer is almost certainly the complainant against Muamer Nukic for the alleged crime presented to the court, as per above, so it’s worth looking at one of his posts on “X” (5/1/26) where he lies and says “Antizionism is Antisemitism”. (Click here to see the below post on “X”)

Muamer Nukic 4

Ted Sowden responded the to above post with the below comment: (Click here to see the below comment on “X”)

Muamer Nukic 5

“Cole” responded the to above post by Menachem Vorchheimer with the below comment: (Click here to see the below comment on “X”)

Muamer Nukic 7

There were at least 2 court cases in 2025 that found criticism of Israel and Zionism is not illegal and I am sure Menachem Vorchheimer would know that.

The Conversation reported on the 18th of July 2025 “However, the court also ruled criticism of Israel, Zionism and the Israel Defense Forces are not antisemitic and therefore do not breach the law.” (Click here to read more)

I also published a video of the above article on Tuesday (6/1/25) as per below:

One hypothesis of what possibly happened is:

Menachem Vorchheimer baited Muamer Nukic with his lies and propaganda and when Muamer Nukic responded Vorchheimer went to the police and made a frivolous and vexatious complaint.

The police not knowing the difference between antizionism and antisemitism, and a gung ho police prosecutor looking for a promotion, charged Muamer Nukic with 41 offences that likely show little more than an anti-zionist which Muamer Nukic confesses to being.

With the matter before the court the truth will be known sometime in the hopefully not too distant future.

  1. It is patently true that anti Zionism is definitely not anti semitism
Many Jews are protesting against the terrorism of Zionists

    • True and he should get a statement from one of these Jews to prove it. This should then be thrown out of Court

  2. I had better behave myself on social media as I often proclaim that I’m anti Zionist. The rise of Zionism in Australia is horrendous IMO. It really is a far right behaviour, surprisingly just like the neo Nazis. Do any of these followers have the brains to realise this? That what Netanyahu is doing is the same as Hitler?

  3. Last census 40% of Australians stated NO RELIGION on their census form, we don’t want this rabid theocratic zealotry, anti democracy stuff rammed down our throats 24/7 by our corrupted media. This is starting to look a lot like a pogrom of religious dark age heresy and blasphemy laws?
No one is born a certain religion. Jewish is a religion, you can be forcibly indoctrinated at birth by your parents, there’s no choice, just like any religion, you are indoctrinated into the religion and culture your parents choose, thats all that makes you a member of any religion. If you decide to remain in that religion, it is your lifestyle choice.
Zionism is a political movement and like any political movement it is open to free and fair investigation assessment and like any politics, ridicule of any party by anyone. Thats democracy, thats what courts have said, makes a free society.
That said, is Israel a democracy as they proclaim when it comes to politics, or is it actually a theocracy when it comes to religion?
Remember 40% of Australians don’t even believe religion is of any useful purpose, in fact most of us consider it down right dangerous and these past few weeks have shown just how dangerous it is to the very fabric of our society, politics and so extremely divisive to our nation when used by these opportunists in the LNP/Zionist/Media.
Many people should consider whether they would prefer to live in a free Australian democracy or an Israeli “Jewish State” theocracy? Especially some of these shallow opportunist zealots “Ley, Friedenberg, MacCormack, etc” now doing photo op stunts, hyperventilating on basically thin air in the “sic” LNP/Zionist/Media?

  4. Recordings were found in the Campsie, Sydney room occupied by the gunmen prior to the shooting. In one recording, police say, the pair make a number of statements explaining their motivations for the “Bondi attack” and condemning the actions of “Zionists”. Israel must never be criticised is the priority of many, but not all Jewish people. I wonder how any investigation of the Bondi attack will hide the Israeli atrocities on Palestinians in Gaza as being the reason? Antisemitism in Australia, only noticed after October 7, 2023, is just a diversion.

  5. Is it okay to hate and murder Russian Orthodox Australians because of Putin’s war in Ukraine?
Jewish Australians should not be subjected to hate and massacre because of Netanyahu’s war in Gaza.

    • This is pretty simple stuff? Maybe is going over some peoples heads? Putin is a wanted criminal for his attack on the Ukraine and so is Netanyahu for his genocide in Gaza. Don’t ever forget those facts! If people support a wanted criminal, they should be condemned for doing so, it’s a crime to give aid and protection to a criminal, thats the law by the way! Most of us just cannot comprehend how anyone can look at those infant children in Gaza, with multiple amputations their parents slaughtered, homes destroyed, the cities hospitals all infrastructure intensionally destroyed, the doctors nurses and the journalists reporting it, all murdered. Food, water, all aid intensionally withheld using starvation as a weapon. And they’re not as disgusted as everyone else is, whats the matter with these people are they so sick with hatred or simply just want the rest of all their land?

    • That is correct. I believe it would be very helpful if this was made public. Many American Jews are openly against what Netanyahu is doing and do just that.

  6. I hope this man gets the support of his colleagues. I don’t know him but it looks on the surface like he is being used as an example by lesser men, to instill fear and weakness into the place where very brave men once stood up for children and others. If his colleagues don’t use their brains and their hearts to discover the truth through this incident then their days it seems are just as numbered as the last lot of Northern Rivers strong men who cared enough in 2020.

  7. Seeing the way this article frames the situation, I want to set the record straight with my own experience on X with Menachem Vorchheimer. My responses were pointed, direct, and aimed at his posts – not at anyone’s religion or ethnicity:

“Menachem, a child’s murder is always a tragedy – Bondi or Gaza. The images I posted show Palestinian children killed in vast numbers, daily, with no Royal Commission and little outrage. A society isn’t broken by grief – it’s broken by selective grief.”

“Menachem’s venom drips with disrespect, Mocking the Premier with cruel neglect No grace, no class, just reckless spite, A fool who thrives in a self-righteous fight His actions speak volumes, all of them vile A disgrace to the cause, with no moral dial.”

Both comments were critiques of his posts and attitude, not antisemitic. Some people make a sport of twisting words, spinning traps, and playing outrage like a game – a cheap thrill for the self-righteous. I don’t indulge in that nonsense. I call it as I see it, call out hypocrisy, and stand firmly on the facts.

If Muamer Nukic has been unduly and wrongly charged or condemned, I wish him peace of mind as this matter proceeds.

  8. I am very fearful that the Australian Government will be pushed into fully accepting the definition of anti-semitism proposed by Jillian Segal in her report to Government and which very clearly inflates anti Zionism with anti semitism. If this were true all of my Jewish friends and relations would be guilty of antisemitism, instead of merely being guilty of not agreeing with the moves of the Israeli government – backed by the hard right Zionist factor, in their genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Before Oct 11th there was a year of weekly protests by Jews in Israel against their Governments corruption.

    • IMHO, if the RC is called, I strongly suspect the terms of reference are already being crafted by parties who know exactly what conclusions they want before it even begins.

As I understand it, definitions like the one proposed by Jillian Segal dangerously blur the line between legitimate criticism of government policy and antisemitism. If applied, anyone simply questioning decisions, raising concerns, or disagreeing with government actions, including many Jewish people could be wrongly swept up and unfairly labelled.

It must be said: holding governments accountable is the essence of democratic discourse. Criticism of Israel, like criticism of any government, is not prejudice against a people or a religion. Conflating dissent with antisemitism threatens to silence debate, stifle scrutiny, and divert attention from serious matters such as governance failures, corruption, and human rights abuses.

    • I share your concern. The push for the RC just looks like part of the push to muzzle criticism of the bloodbath in Gaza.
If the RC goes ahead, lets hope it will fully investigate claims that the contents of the outrageous and divisive Segal report was not influenced by her Advance supporting husband

  9. I’m also concerned by the demands, not recommendations,of Jillian Segal. Albanese & Minns seem fully on board with her demands which will roll up anti Zionism, anti Israel & criticism of the IDF into anti Semitism. We all know that criticism of the Israeli Govt in Israel is far more robust than in Australia.

  10. Just yesterday the Federal Opposition Leader Sussan Ley added her call for a Federal Royal Commission into the Bondi massacre. Her view was that a key Commission goal should be to “eliminate anti-Semitism.” Ley said that the Commission should consist of three officers: a leading Australian jurist, a senior Australian intelligence official, and a Jewish person. The last idea is staggering and almost certainly unlawful in my view. This Jewish representative could be expected to promote a Commission finding of anti-Zionism as anti-Semitism, a false political trope. Further, such a Commission member could likely only be nominated and accept the position if they had the political approval of the Netanyahu government. Since when can a person directly representing the interests and views of a foreign government sit on an Australian judicial body? The idea is absurd yet this is what is being proposed.

    • Thanks for the article Wothers

Menachem Vorchheimer’s relentless pursuit against antisemitism is certainly impressive, and few could deny the courage it takes to take on such a personal mission. At the same time, one might reflect: when can relentless focus on a cause risk becoming an all-consuming obsession?

With that in mind, and in his absence, some questions remain:

How does he view Israel’s ongoing actions in Palestine and the West Bank, even under the agreed ceasefire?

How does he draw the line between legitimate criticism of a government or political movement and genuine antisemitism?

What is his baseline for anti-Israel or anti-Zionist actions versus actions that are truly antisemitic?

How does he view a legitimate legal discussion on these matters – does he see room for dialogue, debate, and input beyond his personal pursuit of each case?

How does he see these discussions proceeding within the community – through broader dialogue and engagement, or primarily through the legal actions he pursues personally?

In the end, when he takes on every legal case personally, is he aiming to strengthen coexistence in his immediate community, the broader Jewish population, or society at large – and could concentrating on individual cases in this way unintentionally escalate tensions rather than foster understanding?

In summing up, perhaps Menachem Vorchheimer could consider publishing a set of guidelines, principles, or ground rules for all to adhere to when discussing and exchanging views on these matters in general. Once these are known, people could understand for themselves whether entering a discussion or exchange is worthwhile. This would provide clarity, encourage constructive dialogue, and help avoid unnecessary tension, misunderstandings, and perhaps the use of authorities’ time and resources.

      • Yes, it will be fascinating to see the extent right wing supporters of Israel are prepared to go now that the RC is on.
Today in The Age we saw another appalling example of these extremists trying to shut down criticism by claiming Cathy Wilcox was a Jew hater because she depicted Netanyahu manipulating Australian politicians. (Who would have thought?)
The cartoon, from the Age on Wednesday was clearly an illustration of how she saw political power operating in this country. It showed Netanyahu manipulating right wing politicians here to get prominent Australians to support an RC. It was clearly a political opinion and not even remotely anti semitic. If banning commentary like this to appease the tiny community of right wing supporters of Israel, we are in real trouble

      • Yes, there has been a trope that the hidden hand of the Jew has been behind the disenfranchisement of many non-Jewish populations and that has been unfortunate – and lethal for many Jews. However, when it has become obvious that many Western democracies are being currently manipulated by Zionists (not just by their actions but through the publicised boasting of their political leaders) we should be able to complain about it without being accused of antisemitism.

  11. If a Royal Commission is to held it should be into antisocial media. A few years ago an Aussie bloke murdered dozens of muslims in NZ where one could buy mass murder weapons. The response here was muted.
Last year another Aussie nutter stabbed to death six people (including an unarmed guard), his rampage was stopped by a man armed with a big flower pot. Once again, nothing to see here.
I am old enough to remember the Cronulla Beach riot. It was sparked by a mix of old (Alan Jones) medium, and the new. Nothing to investigate once again, and the targets were (I let you guess). Happily, the terrorists were poorly armed, and no one was killed, although one terrorist wannbe was photographed spilling his beer.
When Media Watch published viewer feedback, provocateurs soon made it into an antisocial medium, causing the ABC to end it. Print media can be sued for printing antisocial content. Google and others in the new media think that they are above the Law. Make them think again!

  12. Where were all the jews protesting the injustices carried out on Palestinians over the last 75 odd years, ending in a brutal genocide.
    Anyone spot one?
    Anywhere?

    • Yes, that seems to be conveniently ‘forgotten’ still ongoing today with no sign of letting up
