Gladys Berejiklian Seriously corruptPremier Gladys Berejiklian

Corrupt former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian lies to the public again and what about her other crimes

Gladys Berejiklian, former NSW Premier, has lost her appeal against corruption findings by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (NSW ICAC) yet she is still defiant and lying to the public once again.

The Supreme Court of NSW’s Court of Appeal on Friday (26/7/24) dismissed Gladys Berejiklian’s appeal against the corruption findings by the NSW ICAC last year (29/6/23) that Gladys Berejiklian had “engaged in serious corrupt conduct“.

Gladys Berejiklian responded:

In a statement released on Friday, the former premier thanked the court for considering the appeal and noted the “limited nature of a challenge that can be made to ICAC findings by any citizen”.

“The decision of the NSW Court of Appeal was split 2-1,” she said. “The dissenting judgment of the President of the Court of Appeal held that the report was beyond power and that the findings of ICAC should be quashed. (Click here to read more)

In other words, Gladys says because one judge says she should have won the appeal on a legal technicality she is honest. Just another lie by Gladys at the end of the day. Because if Gladys had won on legal technicality, it would hardly prove she had not acted corruptly as found by the NSW ICAC.

And then there are all of Gladys Berejiklian’s other crimes, while Premier, that ICAC didn’t investigate.

I published an article on the 2nd of July 2023 titled ““Seriously corrupt” Gladys Berejiklian’s lies and crimes – Pork-barrelling, document shredding and concealing corruption” which starts off:

Gladys Berejiklian might avoid jail for her crimes, but she has been branded for life as being “seriously corrupt” which is the next best thing for people who believe in public accountability for politicians, and it adds to a long list of criminal conduct by Gladys Berejiklian.

For the old media to report the NSW ICAC findings of “serious corruption” but at same time not report all of Glady’s corruption fails to tell the full story.

Berejiklian’s supporters are trying to make out the NSW ICAC findings are a one off and she is really an honest person but that is a lie.

Berejiklian is a major league crook who pork-barrelled like no tomorrow and her government even stole from bush fire victims who badly needed the money, and many still do, to buy votes in other electorates. And in one matter Gladys thought nothing of shredding documents and deleting files to hide her corruption. (Click here to read more)

NSW’s Court of Appeal judgement was handed down on Friday (26/7/24) and The SMH reported

Former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian has lost her court bid to overturn damning findings made against her by the state’s corruption watchdog.

In a decision on Friday, a 2-1 majority of the NSW Court of Appeal dismissed her application for judicial review of the Independent Commission Against Corruption’s findings.

Berejiklian resigned as premier in October 2021 amid an ICAC probe into funding decisions she made while in a secret relationship with a government MP. She sought an order quashing the ICAC’s findings, released in June last year, or a declaration that they were a nullity.

The ICAC found that Berejiklian engaged in serious corrupt conduct between 2016 and 2018 by participating in decisions to make multimillion-dollar government grants to two projects in the then-Wagga Wagga Liberal MP Daryl Maguire’s electorate, without disclosing the pair were in a close personal relationship.

Gladys Berejiklian’s perjury on video for all to see

A big reason why Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and opposition leader Peter Dutton did a dirty deal to make sure the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has secret hearings except in exceptional circumstances is because they saw Gladys Berejiklian get destroyed in the witness stand which was livestreamed for the public to see.

Gladys Berejiklian’s final day at ICAC was possibly the best day of all. She was accused of lying by barrister Hugh White who was acting for Sarah Cruickshank who is the former chief of staff for Gladys Berejiklian as per the below video:

Below is what opposition leader Peter Dutton (3/7/23) said last year when he defended Gladys Berejiklian after NSW ICAC’s corruption findings against her. (Source: David Marler @Qldaah on Twitter)

As always Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch’s Sky News gave Peter Dutton a platform to promote his lies.

I wonder what Peter Dutton has to say now after the NSW Court of Appeal’s decision on Friday.

Gladys Berejiklian at Optus

Gladys Berejiklian is the Managing Director, Enterprise and Business at Optus and it says on Optus’ website:

Gladys was appointed to the role of Optus Managing Director, Enterprise and Business in February 2022.

She has a proven track record of executing and delivering major complex projects and building strong, trusted relationships with the business community.

In 2003, Gladys was elected to the New South Wales Parliament, and from 2011 she served in senior leadership roles, including Minister for Transport, Treasurer and the 45th Premier of New South Wales (Click here to read more)

Gladys Berejiklian started at Optus in February 2023 which is before the NSW ICAC published their report finding she had “engaged in serious corrupt conduct” in June 2023.

From what I recall Optus allowed Gladys Berejiklian to stay because she was appealing the NSW ICAC findings. You would think Optus would be under huge pressure now, given the NSW Court of Appeal decision, to sack her. But maybe Berejiklian will appeal to the High Court and argue she should keep her job at Optus until the High Court makes a decision.

Corrupt former NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro

John Barilaro has struggled to get a job after he resigned on the 4th of October 2021 because of his fraud, theft, abuse of power and numerous alleged affairs. It was only 3 days after Gladys resigned on the 1/10/21.

But John Barilaro starts as a Director of Motorcycling NSW in August 2024 which was announced only a few days ago. As soon as it was announced on Motorcycling NSW’s Facebook page, they started getting attacked for appointing Barilaro with comments such as the below 6 comments:

  1. “If ethics were important this new appointment wouldn’t have happened, no?”
  2. “you guys need to remember your job is to represent motorcyclists. Nobody wants this bloke running a fish and chip shop, let alone acting as a director of MNSW. Who thought this would be a good idea?”
  3. I think it would be fair to say that neatly all the members of MNSW will be upset Mr Barilaro has been appointed to this position of power, he has a less than glamorous history”
  4. “Are you seriously allowing people like this to be involved in our future generations. What a role model”
  5. “This is an appalling appointment by MNSW. John Barilaro who has no connection to motorcycle culture does however have a track record of corruption. He should not be rewarded in any way by the people of NSW.”
  6. Motorcycling NSW really dropped the ball with this one. I hope you guys can see the displeasure in the motorcycling community with appointing Barilaro. And the people voicing their opinion here on Facebook are only a fraction of the people that are, and will be disappointed by this.” (Click here to read more comments on Motorcycling NSW’s Facebook page)

I also posted on Twitter on the 26/7/24: “Corrupt former NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro starts as a director of Motorcycle NSW in August 2024. Obviously they have no standards.” and all the comments below my Twitter post were negative comments about John Barilaro and his appointment by Motorcycling NSW. (Click here to see the tweet and comments)

The point about John Barilaro is that his reputation has followed him and while he might be a Director of Motorcycling NSW, starting in August 2024, potential employers will see the backlash Motorcycling NSW are receiving and will be turned off by it.

  1. Q..will Optus continue with the employment of a seriously corrupt senior member of their management team.
Q.. does Optus deem that the public now know part of the truth about a senior member of their management team so the same public have the opinion that serious corruption is not an issue for their business.
Q.. does Optus consider it an issue that this now publily known fact that apart from a senior member of their management team been deemed corrupt that the same senior member of their management team had 76 can’t recall moments whence being questioned by NSWs ICAC.

Could be suggested that Newscorp would welcome on board a person of the calibre of the deemed seriously corrupt person who could easily slip in with the current calibre of Newscorp management.

  2. There seems to be little emphasis on Berejiklian’s costly incompetence as Minister for Transport,Treasurer & Premier for COVID Abuses.

  3. As a comment and in my honest opinion:

What options might there be left now for these two “hustlers”?

Perhaps, Gladys and John could fall back into their dream team again and start a masterclass series on how to cling to jobs despite scandals and outrageous behaviour.

Or perhaps they can be two combatants, in a reality TV show … “Survivor: Political Scandal Edition” … pitted against a different weekly team of public participants, where they endeavour to outwit, outplay, and outlast the truth.

Well … goodness gracious me … it only leaves one more question.
Which news media network outlet will approach them, with an offer?

  4. I just don’t understand, Daryl Maguire went to jail for his corruption, yet he could only have done that with Berejiklian’s support and approval. Why isn’t she in jail as well?
Just goes to prove that there are two sets of laws in Australia – one set for the politicians and the other set for everyone else.

  5. Berejiklian and Andrews are both State Premiers who have faced crises of confidence, with both having different endings.
Andrews was investigated by Victorian IBAC and Berekjiklian was investigated with NSW ICAC.
Andrews got of scott free from alleged corruption, Berejiklian was crucified breaching public trust and engaging in corrupt conduct.
If Berejiklian was investigated in Victoria she possibly would not have to resign from her state premiership and suffer so much embarrassment.

Dan Andrews investigations uncovered “concerning practices” including hiring unqualified people into publicly funded roles to facilitate factional work, nepotism, forging of signatures, bullying behaviour and attempts to interfere in government grants. A report also found evidence of branch stacking across factional lines and findings of misconduct, yet there was no statutory provision which could prompt a criminal investigation.
IBAC also investigated a developers property deals which Andrews was associated with, that was swept under the rug also.
Why didn’t Dan Andrews lose his premiership position?

  6. Is Gladys advocating that all people facing a decision or a verdict by a jury or a panel of judges be considered not guilty if there is not an unanimous decision?

  7. Optus should not have employed her and must now get rid of her. Says this Optus customer.

  8. In breaking news, a survey found that only 30% of Australians have faith in our Courts. Further investigation discovered the 30% were composed of lawyers and judges.

  9. “She has a proven track record of executing and delivering major complex projects”

Almost all were overpriced, over time and poor quality.
