The Antoinette Lattouf v ABC unlawful termination judgment will be handed down next Wednesday, 25th of June 2025, at 10.15am and straight after that at 11.30am journalists, editors, the head lawyer, The Age and The SMH face contempt proceedings in the same matter.
A group of unknown people, who made complaints against Antoinette Lattouf to the ABC which led to her sacking, were granted suppression orders in the case, because they claim their safety was in danger, and they now say The Age, The SMH and staff breached those suppression orders.
There is a lot of secrecy around the contempt matter but from what I can tell originally the unknown people were asking the judge to direct or request the Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia consider contempt charges against the The Age, The SMH and staff.
But given the judge issued extensive orders for both parties to file evidence and set down a hearing date it looks like the judge has gone straight to a contempt of court hearing without a referral to the Registrar. (Click here to see the court orders)
I would expect the contempt hearing to be livestreamed given the original hearing was and the judgment next Wednesday will also be livestreamed. But then again, given the secrecy it mightn’t be livestreamed.
It is a sad situation when supporters of a foreign country, who are possibly foreigners, try to silence Australian media. I published a video as per below on the judgment and contempt matter:

The Antoinette Lattouf v ABC judgment
The judgement could end up being a stick of dynamite given ABC witnesses were accusing each other of lying including former ABC Chair Ita Buttrose who accused the former Managing Director David Anderson of lying under oath.
On the 14th of February I published a video titled “ABC’s Ita Buttrose commits perjury – The smoking gun evidence” as per below which is worth watching again. It will be interesting what the judge has to say about Ita Buttrose’s creditability as a witness.

Is Israel committing genocide in Gaza?
Given that complaints by supporters of Israel to the ABC, which I have no doubt were trying to stop the reporting of genocide in Gaza, led to the Antoinette Lattouf v ABC matter it is worth looking at the comments in the below video by an Israeli General.
What happened on October 7, 2023 certainly entitles Israel the right to defend itself but Israel has used the October 7 massacre to launch a full-frontal genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza and now seems to be starting on the Palestinians in West Bank as well.
An Israel General, in the below interview video titled “Israeli General QUITS Sky Interview after being caught LYING“, says Israel can kill people with precision bombing in Iran with very few civilian casualties. It leaves no doubt Israel’s scorched earth policy in Gaza is a deliberate Genocide otherwise Israel would be using precision bombing in Gaza as well.
Antoinette Lattouf taking the stand she did has allowed the public to have a look at the inner workings at the ABC we would have never had otherwise.
Some people say Antoinette Lattouf only had a 5-day contract with the ABC and she should have just moved on when she was sacked.
But the ABC leaked Antoinette Lattouf’s sacking to News Corp’s The Australian to do maximum damage to Lattouf’s reputation and freelance journalism career and the ABC should be held to account for that.
Based on the evidence we heard during the court case Lattouf has done all Australians a favour by taking a stand and fighting for what is right.

Marvellous isn’t it, that these unknowns are happy to ruin someone’s career simply because of their personal views, expressed on social media, but hide behind a suppression order to save their own skins. But we have a pretty fair idea who they are.
Spot on Jen.
My bet is on the Melbourne lawyer who compares Jews who don’t ascribe to Zionism to Nazis.
Suppression orders, once again we find the other side of the so called independence of the judiciary, the judiciary who continually protect their mates and friends including the so many pedos they seem intent to protect and prefer not to imprision and accept dubious references from family and friends, on the other hand if a say footballer is accused of something, no suppression orders, no secret hearings all made public…as KCA symbolises “why rent a lawyer when you can buy a judge”
The ‘Victims’ are on the attack always. Aussie Bob
Personally I am sick to death of the Middle East saga. Both sides have considerable fault. But I do agree that Israel has gone overboard in its defence and deserves the accusation of genocide. Hamas and Hezbollah are also complicit in the atrocities perpetuated on Gaza and I believe that Lattouf has been made a scapegoat in this very ugly combat.
Antoinette Lattouf’s unfair dismissal case against ABC is set for judgment on …
June 25, with a related contempt hearing the same day involving journalists from The Age and SMH accused of breaching court suppression orders.
This exposes the deep conflict between the media’s role to hold power to account and legal tools that can easily be twisted to muzzle inconvenient truths. Suppression orders shouldn’t be weaponised by political interests to silence reporting-especially on critical issues like Gaza.
What this really shows is how vulnerable our media is becoming to shadowy influences that prefer silence over scrutiny. If we let this pass, we risk trading fearless journalism for a press shackled by censorship and foreign agendas.
…it all depends on one’s choice of a starting point…?
“What happened on October 7, 2023 certainly entitles Israel the right to defend itself..” is a bit like saying that what happened to Dresden in February 1945 entitled Nazi Germany to defend itself.
I agree…. Fruthermore…The area around the Gaza Extermination Camp is not sovereign Israel, it’s legally Palestine. Sovereign Israel is only as per the 1947 Partition Plan (created and pushed through by Australia). Palestinians were legally defending themselves from foreign invasion with operation Al Aqsa Flood…. so to say that Israel was entitled to defend itself simply has no legal basis.
Since October 7 seems to have been enabled by Netanyahu and since many of those killed on that day of hostage-taking were killed by the IDF following orders to implement the Hannibal Directive and since there were no rapes or babies killed (all Zionist “hasbara” or propaganda in my Judgement) there is absolutely no right for the Zionists to claim any right of Israel to so-called “defend itself” by committing a genocide – which by conservative estimates has already seen at the very least some 300,000 killed – many more maimed.
Spot on Veronica. Palestinians had been oppressed by Israel for decades, so in fact, Palestinians were defending themselves. Israel can’t say it’s defending itself from those they’re oppressing. This line that Israel is defending itself will never be true, no matter how many times they push it. They, like the US, are always the aggressors.
Bear in mind also that by 1947, the incoming Zionists had purchased legal title to only 6% of the land of Palestine, yet were awarded 56% of the territory under the very one-sided United Nations Partition Plan drafted by the UN Special Committee on Palestine and adopted by the General Assembly. It is well documented that David Ben-Gurion and the other Zionist leaders viewed it as a tactic on the road to the full takeover of Palestine, and when they declared the State of Israel in 1948 by force of arms, they seized 78% of Mandatory Palestine. In 2025, of course, they control 100% of the land of Palestine (Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel), “from the river to the sea,” precisely what they accuse the Palestinians of wanting to do.
Israel can censor its citizens and media as it pleases, but has no right censoring our journalists or anyone criticising Israel’s numerous war crimes or disregard for international law here.
Gutless wonders- insist on their view of the world but too scared to identify themselves.
