Comedian Dave Hughes has recently started attacking Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party while at the same time sucking up to the Liberal Party using the same business plan, most people call it premeditated fraud, as Labor’s fake comedian Jordan Shanks, aka Friendlyjordies.

With the old media dying, because of their lies and propaganda, and new media slowly filling the void, it is important to be aware that new media can be just as dishonest as the old media.

I have reported on Jordan Shanks, aka Friendlyjordies, extensively, so we will have a look at his handiwork first, ripping off Labor voters. And then look at Dave Hughes and how he is obviously copying Jordan Shanks’ blueprint for premeditated fraud, to rip off Liberal Party voters.

Jordan Shanks is the OG of Australian online grifters who pretend to support a political party by pushing out propaganda for them, in Shanks case it is the Labor Party, and then ripping off the supporters.

If you are a Labor Party supporter and you think that by supporting Jordan Shanks you are helping the Labor Party, you have been sucker punched by Jordan Shanks and his producer Kristo Langker.

A powerful piece of evidence that Jordan Shanks’ propaganda and lies do not help the Labor Party is the fact that Labor politicians won’t go near him anymore.

I published an article titled “Sugar Daddy Kevin Rudd running a Labor Party smear unit with his sugar baby Friendlyjordies” in August 2025 and wrote in part:

Shanks was once a rising star, for about 5 minutes, in the Labor Party for pushing Labor propaganda.

Five years ago Shanks did interviews with federal Labor Party politicians Tanya Plibersek, Kristina Keneally, and four years ago Bill Shorten and former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd at least 4 times, from 2020 to 2022, as well as a few NSW State politicians.

Shanks has since been deserted by Labor Party politicians, which seems to have happened around the time former NSW Premier John Barilaro sued Shanks and Google for defamation on the 27th of May 2021.

Although, Kevin Rudd kept doing interviews with Shanks. But Rudd’s last interview seems to have been on the 8th of May 2022 in a video titled “Kevin Rudd Slams the Media’s “Outrageous” Election Coverage” supporting the Labor Party for the federal election on the 21st of May 2022. The below video was posted by Shanks in the last few days but is obviously at least a few months old, as Shanks mentions Kevin Rudd is the US Ambassador. He says Kevin Rudd still talks to him.

Given the Labor Party politicians, who will show up to the opening of an envelope for some media coverage, have deserted Friendlyjordies and his average audience of about 200,000, then you know Shanks is now the bad smell of the Labor Party that no Labor MP wants to go near.

Another powerful piece of evidence that Jordan Shanks’ propaganda and lies do not help the Labor Party is the fact that Shanks and his supporters think fat-shaming people is funny and somehow helps Labor.

Shanks attacks anyone and everyone who is critical of Labor. He does that so he can suck in Labor supporters, especially those who are rusted on Labor supporters, who think he is a good Labor boy.

In a recent video, Shanks attacked Drew Pavlou calling him fat numerous times. Drew Pavlov could be described as a lightweight grifter when compared to Shanks OG grifter status, who is critical of the Labor Party.

I am no supporter of Drew Pavlou, but there is a huge problem for any political party when they start fat-shaming people for perceived political advantage.

As of June 2026, “67% (approximately 13.2 million) of adults aged 18 and over were living with overweight or obesity – including 33% living with obesity.” (Click here to read more)

Fat-shaming Drew Pavlou, or fat-shaming anyone for that matter, is fat-shaming 67% of Australian voters.

That is hugely damaging for the Labor Party and helps explain why Labor MPs won’t go near Shanks anymore. But Jordan Shanks (aka Friendlyjordies) doesn’t care, as he is not a Labor Party supporter, he only pretends to be.

Shanks trolls the internet with his videos pretending to be a Labor Party supporter looking for Labor supporters he can rip off and sell tickets to for his fake comedy shows.

Jordan Shanks’ biggest fraud scam would be the $millions he raised for his defamation battle against John Barilaro, which he settled for $100,000.

After it settled, and Shanks still had $millions in the bank, Shanks continued to fraudulently raise more money for his claimed battle against John Barilaro for another 3 years.

Another of Shanks’ scams is the Wombat Trust, where Shanks and his lawyers, XD Law, are raising money for court cases that don’t even exist yet and likely won’t exist in the future. (Click here to read more)

The fools who think fat-shaming people is funning are exactly the type of fools Shanks is looking for, so he can rip them off.

The only joke at Shanks’ comedy shows is on the people who pay $55 for the tickets to watch Shanks laugh at his own non-existent jokes and to pull childish faces. The reality is Shanks is no more a comedian than he is a Labor Party supporter.

That is a brief overview of how Shanks’ online fraud scams work, and now let’s look at Dave Hughes and how he is following Shanks’s business plan.

In the below video, Jordan Shanks attacks Dave Hughes, and Shanks attacks other Labor Party critics for good measure.

But the most important part is about the 1-minute mark, where Shanks talks about Dave Hughes’s target market for his rants against Labor. To me it shows Shanks also thinks about his target market for his premeditated fraud, which is Labor Party supporters.

The above 2 Shanks videos are as good as his claimed “comedy” gets.

Comedian Dave Hughes and his Liberal Party grift routine

Dave Hughes previously made $millions being a radio host, but that stopped in 2024, so now he makes his money from comedy shows.

I haven’t followed Hughes’ career much at all, but he did host the Logie Awards a few times, and I thought he did a good job and is a genuine comedian, unlike someone else I won’t mention.

Dave Hughes started attacking Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Labor on social media after the May 2026 federal budget for the changes to the capital gains tax (CGT) and negative gearing and gained a lot of attention.

That is fine, as a lot of people have complained about the tax changes, and it is your right to criticise the government.

Since then Dave Hughes has gone way past complaining about the Labor government and is now campaigning for the Liberal Party. That is also fine, as it is your right to campaign for whatever political party you want to.

But Dave Hughes has started openly lying and deceiving voters, pretending to support the Liberal Party, as per the below screenshot.

If Dave Hughes stuck to the facts and criticised the Labor government, he would have some credibility, but claiming the Greens and Teals have been in power with Labor is a straight out lie.

Dave Hughes is happy to tell that lie, and he is accused of telling many other lies, because he is playing to the Liberal Party supporter audience that is his target.

Lies don’t help the Liberal Party, and that is a key reason they are so low in the polls and the same reason Labor is dropping in the polls.

Dave Hughes is trying to promote himself and his comedy shows by pretending to be a Liberal Party supporter, the same as Jordan Shanks does with Labor and its supporters.

If Dave Hughes is so worried about government corruption why did he have coffee, as per the above picture, with Angus Taylor who is one of the biggest crooks in parliament?

There are a lot more commentators / journalists / comedians who are commenting on Australian politics in a dishonest and deceptive manner for ulterior motives. Dave Hughes is just the latest to join the crew using the same fraud strategy as Shanks.
