“Australia has essentially a corruption free government,” says Joe Hockey, who is currently rorting AUKUS for $millions

Joe Hockey, Julia Gillard, Josh Frydenberg, Tony Abbott and Kevin Rudd have all raised their heads this week, still cashing in on their political connections, but the audacity of former federal treasurer Joe Hockey to claim that the Australian government is “essentially corruption free” shows Hockey is shameless.

Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard showed up in Fiji this week with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to give a speech at the Pacific Pre-COP31 climate summit.

Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is about to launch a book and released an extract attacking his enemies with speculation he will run for his old seat again at the federal election, which is due by May 2028.

And former Prime Ministers Tony Abbott and Kevin Rudd also continue to hang around when they should have retired long ago.

All the above left politics unpopular with voters, and you would have thought they would have gotten the message to stay away from politics.

I will deal with all of them in order.

Former federal Treasurer Joe Hockey

Joe Hockey currently makes $millions, if not hundreds of $millions, from his company Bondi Partners, which employs former Liberal and Labor politicians to rort the $368 billion AUKUS submarine deal. (Click here to read more)

Below is an edited video of Joe Hockey on the ABC’s 7.30 Report on Wednesday (7/10/26). In the video Joe Hockey starts talking about government corruption in the US and he says near the end “Australia has essentially a corruption-free government.” (Click here to watch the full video)

(Click anywhere on the above video to watch)

It is gross incompetence for the 7.30 Report and its host, Sarah Ferguson, to have Joe Hockey on the show to talk about government corruption in the US and allow Joe Hockey to falsely claim there is virtually no government corruption in Australia.

Why didn’t Sarah Ferguson ask Hockey about his shady AUKUS dealings via his company Bondi Partners?

Joe Hockey saying there is no corruption in the federal government is a prime example of the Labor / Liberal Uniparty in operation.

Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard

Julia Gillard was invited by the Australian government to give a talk at the Pacific Pre-COP31 climate summit in Fiji, with reports the whole summit was paid for by Australian taxpayers.

Julia Gillard and Anthony Albanese
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese with former Australian leader Julia Gillard in Tuvalu on Tuesday. (6/10/26)

The SMH reported:

Gillard, who introduced a carbon tax as prime minister despite pledging during the 2010 election not to do so, accompanied Albanese on the leaders’ visit to Tuvalu.

and:

At a keynote speech at the opening of the talks in Fiji on Monday, Gillard said countries should explicitly protect pregnant women and newborns in their climate-adaptation plans and ensure health workers have guidelines and training to respond to heat. Gillard is the chair of Wellcome, a London-based health research foundation. (Click here to read more)

Julia Gillard is no expert on climate change, and having Gillard there added no value for the climate summit.

But given it was the Australian government that invited Julia Gillard to Fiji for the summit, it was clearly done for the benefit of Julia Gillard and the Labor Party.

Maybe Julia Gillard called in a favor from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese solely for her own benefit, or maybe they are preparing for Julia Gillard to help promote Labor for the next federal election, which is due in the next 18 months.

I rarely write about Julia Gillard these days but only wrote about her on the 4th of October regarding Anthony Albanese making sure corruption during Gillard’s Prime Ministership was never investigated, and then Gillard pops up in the media with Albanese in Fiji 2 days later.

Former federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg

Josh Frydenberg’s extract from his book suggests the book will be a standard politician’s revision of history where he claims he was always right, everyone else was wrong, and he wouldn’t have lost his seat except for dirty tactics by the opposition.

The SMH reported (9/10/26):

Frydenberg has accused Ryan’s camp of dialling the personal vitriol “up to 11” despite promising to reform standards in the 2022 contest, in which the independent seized the seat as part of a broader teal wave. The defeat scuppered Frydenberg’s political future, which his colleagues thought as treasurer could have included the Liberal leadership.

“It was the hypocrisy. Ryan’s supporters piously committed to a kinder, gentler style of politics, even as they waged a campaign thick with personal abuse,” Frydenberg said in an extract of his book provided to The Australian.

“The proposition was not merely that they were right and we were wrong; it was that they were good and we were bad. And because they were good, they were entitled to do as they pleased.”

He said hundreds of his signs were defaced, including with swastikas, his staff were bullied at polling stations, and posters were put up branding him a traitor, without suggesting who was behind the attacks. (Click here to read more)

I have a good memory of the 2022 federal election battle for Josh Frydenberg’s seat of Kooyong, and 2 key issues that got traction on social media were:

  1. Josh Frydenberg’s Jobkeeper scam, which allowed billionaires and millionaires to rip off an estimated $15 to $30 billion from taxpayers. (Click here to read more)
  2. Unchallenged allegations that the Scott Morrison government paid $500,000 to Rachelle Miller to cover up the alleged sexual harassment / sexual assault by the then federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg. (Click here to read more)

It must be remembered that Josh Frydenberg was exposed for cheating during the 2019 federal election.

The ABC reported in 2019:

The Court of Disputed Returns — sitting in the Federal Court in Melbourne for the next three days — is being asked to unseat Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and his Victorian Liberal colleague Gladys Liu for allegedly misleading voters during the election.

The case centres on election signs, known as corflutes, which resembled official signs from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) and told voters in Chinese script to give their first preference to the Liberal candidates.

The signs were posted at 13 polling stations in Mr Frydenberg’s seat of Kooyong and at 29 polling booths in nearby Chisholm, which was won by Ms Liu. (Click here to read more)

Josh Frydenberg lost the 2022 federal election because the voters of Kooyong knew he was a dishonest crook and fraud. If Frydenberg makes a comeback to politics, it will damage the Liberal Party, not help it.

Former Prime Ministers Tony Abbott and Kevin Rudd

Tony Abbott’s and Kevin Rudd’s best years are long gone, and for the benefit of their parties, they should keep their noses out of politics, but they won’t.

In May 2026 Tony Abbott was elected as the federal Liberal Party President, which does nothing more than expedite the decline of the Liberal Party.

Kevin Rudd jumped ship as Australia’s Ambassador to Washington in March 2026 and is currently President and CEO of the Asia Society, which is a global think tank.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited Kevin Rudd at the Asia Society when he was in the US in September 2026, as per the below video on Kevin Rudd’s “X” account (25/9/26).

Anthony Albanese and Kevin Rudd

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should have moved on from Rudd and Gillard when he became Prime Minister, and his continued relationship with them, I think will end in tears.

Tony Abbott and Kevin Rudd are both drunk on power, and they don’t know when to leave the party, and no one will tell them to leave, so they just keep on getting drunker and less coherent.

Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott have one thing in common, which their parties seem to forget.

All 3 were removed as Prime Ministers by their own parties because they were diving in voter opinion polls and having them hanging around now, years after they left office, only detracts from their parties’ votes.

The political grifters who hang around for years cashing in are playing a major role in destroying the Labor Party and Liberal Party because voters can see how they are gaming the system and how current politicians help facilitate the scam.

  1. Joe Hockey is not fooling anybody, a grifter and a dolt from long ago. It is sickening that all these people we paid to look after Australia, ultimately just lined their own pockets. He might be wealthy and living the high life, but nobody respects him.
