Former federal treasurer Joe Hockey is stealing $millions from Australian taxpayers via the $368 billion AUKUS fraud scam and he is trying to control AUKUS from cradle to grave via Liberal Party preselections which should be outlawed.
It became obvious that Joe Hockey was trying to control the AUKUS fraud scam, and almost certainly other scams, from cradle to grave when his name popped up as a supporter for Gisele Kapterian in the Liberal Party preselection battle for Bradfield.
Joe Hockey directly lobbies the government, for his own private business, for contracts valued in the $millions, if not hundreds of $millions, and possibly even $billions.
Given Joe Hockey makes $millions from the Australian government should Hockey also be having an influence on who is elected to government?
Background to Joe Hockey and his snout in the trough
Joe Hockey has his snout in the $368 billion AUKUS trough via his company called Bondi Partners that is stacked with former Liberal and Labor politicians such as former WA Premier Mark McGowan and former Minister for Defence Marise Payne (2015-2018). (Click here to read more)
On Thursday the 16th of January 2025 it was reported before the Sydney federal seat of Bradfield Liberal Party preselection:
Tony Abbott has backed anti-Voice campaigner Warren Mundine over well-credentialed moderate Gisele Kapterian for the seat of Bradfield, arguing Liberals can’t beat the teals by copying their politics.
Her backers include former treasurer Joe Hockey, former NSW premiers Gladys Berejiklian, Barry O’Farrell and Nick Greiner, and former MPs Bruce Baird and Trent Zimmerman.
Others understood to be supportive of Ms Kapterian but opting to stay private with their view include Malcolm Turnbull and Matt Kean.
“Bradfield party members expect their local member to become a senior minister or higher,” Mr Hockey told the ABC. “They usually preselect for the future. They expect their member will be a prominent player.” (Click here to read more)
Bradfield is currently held by the Liberal Party’s Paul Fletcher who is retiring.
On Saturday the 18th of January 2025 it was reported after the Sydney federal seat of Bradfield Liberal Party preselection:
Gisele Kapterian won the Liberal party preselection for the Sydney federal seat of Bradfield
The former Liberal treasurer, Joe Hockey, had also endorsed Kapterian, describing her as having the “capacity to be a future leader of the Liberal party”. (Click here to read more)
If Gisele Kapterian is elected to government at the next election then Joe Hockey has someone in government who owes him favours.
And if Gisele Kapterian does become “a future leader of the Liberal party” like Joe Hockey suggests then Hockey might have a Prime Minister who owes him favours.
Breach of the Australian constitution?
Most people are aware of section 44(1) of the Australian constitution which says someone can’t have dual citizenship and sit in parliament which caught out about 15 politicians in 2017 during the 45th Parliament of Australia.
But voters are less aware of Section 44(5) of the constitution which bans politicians from benefitting financially from their role, either directly or indirectly.
That could mean they have a company that gets money through government contracts. (Click here to read more)
While a lot of politicians become lobbyists after they leave parliament, which is not a breach of the constitution, Joe Hockey has gone one step further given he is actively, and publicly, influencing who stands for the Liberal Party in elections for his own financial benefit.
Joe Hockey doing what he is doing is really no different then a current politician running a company and lobbying the government for contracts worth $millions which is illegal under the Australian constitution.
But Joe Hockey is allowed to get away with it and I think the constitution should be amended to block the loophole.
Joe Hockey also influences Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
Below is a picture on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Twitter account on the 20th of March 2023 which says “Good to catch up with @joehockey MP, former Ambassador to the U.S., and Richard Spencer, former U.S. Navy Secretary, in Canberra today.”
Why was Prime Minister Anthony Albanese meeting with private citizen Joe Hockey? Was Albo thinking about his next job after politics? Was Albo helping Joe and his Bondi Partners make a few dollars?

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Joe Hockey
Joe Hockey’s Bondi Partners
I published an article in September 2024 titled “The Labor and Liberal politicians set to make $millions from the AUKUS money train. The AUKUS scam exposed” which says:
Liberal Party and Labor Party former politicians, such as Scott Morrison, Joe Hockey and former WA Premier Mark McGowan are lining up to cash in on Australia’s defence spending which is expected to double and hit $100 billion a year.
At the top of the list for greedy former politicians is the $368 billion AUKUS submarine deal between Australia, the US and UK.
Bondi Partners – (Click here to read more)
Bondi Partners was set by former federal treasurer and former Ambassador to the US Joe Hockey and has a major focus of profiting from AUKUS. Joe Hockey has employed former WA Premier Mark McGowan and former Minister for Defence Marise Payne (2015-2018).
It says on Bondi Partners website:
Bondi Partners was founded in Washington DC in early 2020 by former Australian Ambassador to the United States, the Hon. Joe Hockey.
Joe identified that despite a deep trade and investment partnership between Australia and the U.S., innovative Australian companies struggled to gain traction in America because of the complexity and noise in the market. At the same time, U.S. firms looking to invest or expand into Australia, often as a strategic foothold into the Indo Pacific, lacked the strategic insights to help chart their course.
And so Bondi Partners – named after the famous Sydney beach where Joe’s parents first met – was born to help elevate the trade and investment partnership between Australia and the United States to the next level.
With the evolution of AUKUS – a trilateral security pact between Australia, the U.K. and the U.S. – Bondi Partners footprint continues to grow across the Pacific and the Atlantic. Today we have teams in Washington, Los Angeles, Sydney, Canberra, London and Tokyo where we partner with businesses which want to grow and invest across allied and global markets. (Click here to read more)
Joe Hockey doesn’t even try to hide that he wants to cash in on AUKUS.
The below pictures of Mark McGowan and Marise Payne were copied from the Bondi Partners website.

Joe Hockey’s cradle to grave strategy
Slowly but surely all the pieces are coming together in the public domain to expose exactly how the likes of Joe Hockey work to rip off Australian taxpayers for their own greed.
Joe Hockey not only has direct contacts and influence in federal parliament via the Liberal Party and his relationship with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese but Hockey also has influence over which Liberal Party politicians get preselected and therefor voted into parliament.
It doesn’t matter who is in government Joe Hockey and his Liberal and Labor Party employees will be getting more than their fair share from the government of the day via AUKUS and other fraud scams.
If Gisele Kapterian does win the Sydney seat of Bradfield Joe Hockey will expect favours from Gisele Kapterian in return and if she becomes Prime Minister, as Hockey suggests she might, Hockey will call in even more favours.

Seems Keating was correct when he spoke of a banana republic.
Are they not known to be corrupt?
And the “Lucky Country” of the 1960s, 1970s has been on the downslide ever since
And slimy Polis have treated it as a private bank ever since.
I firmly believe that Australia needs to get rid of the duopoly of LNP and Labor. Albanese, as a Labor left, really is far too interested in what’s in it for him. His alliance with Hockey is rather sickening. As for AUKUS – what an incredible waste of taxpayer’s money.
Rather obvious there is no difference between Labor and LNP, set up NACC to protect themselves and stacked the NACC board with subservient clowns, all in together to enrich themselves, goes on and on, latest is giving multinational tax evader Rio Tinto tax breaks for ten years, WA giving away half our gas for free, giving Australia’s richest woman millions in govt grants, Albonese allowing himself to be photographed with likes of Hockey and connection to Morrison etc, Albonese best compared to the other most embarrassing PM in Australian history, the Hon Tony Abbott, both make/made poor judgements on a regular basis, starting early with Alboneses PM career he chose to allow a convicted criminal to ride and accompany him on the RAAF jet to London and later chose to attend a well advertised party frequented by known criminals… Alboneses latest venture into stupidity was to take $50m of private debt onto the taxpayers of Australia, does this mean that any overseas owned business can pass their debt to the taxpayer? Corruption is openly rife in Australia, odd we never read these stories via Murdoch news or their subsidiary ABC or 9 or 7… How odd!!
I assume you mean “The federal government will acquire $50 million of debt from Rex’s largest creditor, private equity firm PAG Asia Capital, after it lurched into administration and stopped flying between metropolitan cities.”
Same thing really, Federal Government who is funded by the taxpayer ie “US”
A shout out to all us PAYG salary earners paying tax all their working lives so these parasites can feast on the bounty of our efforts…. Happy ‘Straya Day mate!
Likewise, Mark. Happy Australia Day 🇦🇺🏖️🏊♂️👍
If you want to get rich, into politics.
Remove the title “Honourable” they are not worthy of it.
Then a Parliamentary Pension with the Gold passes etc., that the Taxpayer pays, while the criminal mates appoint these ….. to make further mayhem in the private sector,
I had not observed Marise Payne, as having accomplished nothing at all in her role as a representing minister for defence, other than her standing close to the banquet table where the finest of foods were on display… To be later devoured by the many unworthy politicos in attendance.
Effectively, Ms Marise Payne MP was preventing a highly competent person from fulfilling the role of our then minister for defence.
Imagine trying to get a referendum to change those loopholes, not going to happen. The only way forward to upset the duopoly is me voting Greens for the first time next election.
That’s all we have, Deb, our vote. You won’t be alone.
The point of dual citizenship was raised in this article which made me think of Tony Abbott who had a query raised during his stint as PM (I think). My understanding was that he was thought to have British and Australian citizenship and that he could not prove this was not the case – I think he used the “dog ate my homework” defence. Was this ever finalised one way or the other and, if not, why not? Was it another cover up by the LNP ?
Well, based on what is stated in this article, the situation outlined regarding Joe Hockey’s alleged involvement in the $368 billion AUKUS deal and his manipulation of Australian taxpayers for personal gain is deeply concerning.
If this corruption is allowed to continue, Australia’s political system will be irrevocably compromised. Joe Hockey, once a failure as treasurer, now stands at the centre of a $368 billion AUKUS fraud scam, systematically manipulating Australian taxpayers for his own personal gain. His blatant profiteering from defence contracts, coupled with his control over political preselection processes, undermines the very foundation of democracy.
This is not just cronyism; it’s a calculated hijacking of the government for private interests, a power grab that threatens to turn Australia into a playground for former politicians to exploit. If left unchecked, Hockey’s actions will entrench a corrupt oligarchy where the public purse is nothing more than a piggy bank for the elite, with taxpayers left to foot the bill for their greed.
The political system would be reduced further to a rigged game, where loyalty to self-serving interests, not the Australian people, determines who rises to power. The Australian people would be left with nothing but puppet politicians, bought and paid for, whose sole purpose is to enrich the same corrupt network that has already bled the nation dry.
The consequences would be catastrophic. Trust in the political system would evaporate further than it has now, and with it, any hope for real change. Australia’s future would be one where the cycle of corruption feeds itself, perpetuated by a political elite that answers to no one but itself.
This is a grave threat to democracy itself, and if it is not stopped, the very soul of Australia will be sold to the highest bidder.
Hmmm, that is starting to sound familiar!
I remember when Joe was our ambassador in Washington (wasn’t that appointment a slap in the fact to Australians?) Whenever he went to an event, he charged Australian taxpayers for child care. Made me wonder if all our politicians are doing that. We paid his ridiculous salary, his car and driver, his housekeeper and cook, his suits (I would guess) his office staff, and while he lived high on the hog, we also “raised” his kids.
Mmmm, Fred, your latest contribution encouraged me to to remember 1788 – 1799.
