Exposed: Why PM Anthony Albanese put out a Dirt Sheet on Helen Haines

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s claim that the dirt sheet on Helen Haines given to the media by his staff is only a “list of funding asks from Helen Haines” is a huge lie exposed by the fact that the dirt sheet has been published as per below.

Helen Haines was aware of the dirt sheet not long after Albanese’s office gave it to some journalists.

The Daily Mail reported (19/10/26), “When the document was brought to her attention at the time, Haines told the Daily Mail she had not previously seen it, adding: ‘They are pretty desperate.’” (Click here to read more)

The SMH reported on Friday (22/10/26), “fellow crossbench MP Monique Ryan told the SMH Haines thought the claims were ridiculous: “She knew about it and laughed about it. She’d have the worst dirt sheet of all time.” (Click here to read more)

I will carve up the dirt sheet in a minute, but let’s have a quick look at what sparked the dirt sheet in the first place, which is Helen Haines continually shining a light on the Labor government’s pork-barrelling.

(I have also published a video version (Podcast) of this article on the Kangaroo Court of Australia YouTube channel which you can watch by clicking here. It has some extra commentry)

The below video, ABC’s 7.30 Report on the 8th of September 2026, about Labor’s $560 million pork-barrelling, which features Helen Haines, is what infuriated Prime Minister Anthony Albanese so much his office issued the dirt sheet on Helen Haines.

7.30 Report Pork-barrelling – Helen Haines – 8-9-26

The day after the above video went to air (9/10/26), and its associated article was published, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s office started working on the dirt sheet on Helen Haines, because Albanese was obviously not happy with Haines helping shine a light on his pork-barrelling with the $6 million golf club grant.

If the Prime Minister is to be believed, his office started working on a document the day after the above story went to air, showing the great work Helen Haines does so they could give it to the media.

Why didn’t Albanese’s office give the media documents on the great work all the other MPs do? Why only Helen Haines?

The fact that Helen Haines in February 2024 proposed the “Accountability of Grants, Investment Mandates and Use of Public Resources Amendment (End Pork Barrelling) Bill 2024” legislation, as per the below video, to stop pork-barrelling also would have put her on Anthony Albanese’s radar for a Labor Party dirt sheet.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s dirt sheet on Helen Haines (Click here to read the 5-page dirt sheet)

The dirt sheet, given to journalists in the Canberra Press Gallery, implies numerous times that Helen Haines has done something dodgy with grant requests and even shows what gifts Helen Haines has received, implying it is a “gifts for grants scandal.”

The only power Helen Haines has with grants is to forward grant applications to the government for assessment who then approve or reject the grant application. But when reading the dirt sheet, Albanese’s staff have made it look like Helen Haines is the decision maker.

Below is one example on page 3 of Albanese’s dirt sheet:

$28,500,000 requested for Mount Buller Ski Resort

A table listing items related to travel or hospitality, detailing a lift pass for Mt Buller Ski Resort, a mental health awareness lunch organized by Myrtleford Football Club, and a Save the Children Fund parliamentary delegation to Fiji, including airfares and accommodation.

What has been declared is that in July 2022 the Member for Indi was gifted lift passes at Mount Buller Ski Resort for her and her spouse.

In 2025, the Member for Indi has asked the Treasurer to spend a combined $28,500,500 on two projects to “meet the needs of the growing visitor market in Victoria’s busiest alpine resort.” (Click here to see on page 3 of the dirt sheet)

The Prime Minister’s staff have looked for dirt on Helen Haines and gone to the Register of Members’ Interests, which is a “public record Members’ interests which may conflict, or may be seen to conflict, with their public duty. Matters which Members are required to register are set out in a resolution of the House of Representatives.” (Click here to read more)

And when Albanese’s staff have seen what gifts Helen Haines has received they have aligned that with grant applications to imply a “gift for grants scandal.”

The problem with Albanese’s office attempting a “gifts for grants scandal” is that it is all declared by Helen Haines, and most importantly, Helen Haines does not have the power to approve grants, unlike Albanese, who approved a $6 million grant for his local golf club.

Now remember, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told ABC Radio on Thursday (22/10/26): Let’s be very clear, because apparently it’s been published somewhere. It’s a list of funding asks from Helen Haines, just showing that people of integrity stand up for their electorate. No personal criticism of Helen. Helen is a strong advocate for her electorate. She’s advocated for funding for projects in her electorate. (Click here to read more)

Another example showing it is a dirt sheet is on page 1:

In the lead up to the election, the Member for Indi wrote to Treasurer Jim Chalmers requesting more than $845,000,000 of Commonwealth funding for local projects.

● It remains unclear what due diligence the Member for Indi has done in selecting these projects, including funding for ski resorts, sporting facilities, the Prosecco Trail, and Bellbridge Boathouse.
● It is unclear whether these projects she has selected would be considered value for money.
● It is unclear what interests the Member has in businesses, community groups, sporting organisations or clubs that would benefit from these wide ranging and expensive projects she has flagged as worthy of funding. (Click here to see on page 1 of the dirt sheet)

All three bullet points start off with “It remains unclear,” implying there could be something dodgy going on. What happened to Albanese’s claim that it was just a “list of funding asks by Helen Haines.”

Let’s deal with the first bullet point

The first one says, “It remains unclear what due diligence the Member for Indi has done in selecting these projects.” It is up to the government to do “due diligence,” as it is the government who approves or rejects grants. But Albanese’s staff implied it is up to Helen Haines.

Bullet point 2 says, “It is unclear whether these projects she has selected would be considered value for money.” That is for the government to decide, not Helen Haines and Albanese’s staff know it. Does Albanese’s staff expect all MPs to be accountants or business consultants who spend their days crunching numbers on grant applications?

Bullet point 3 says, “It is unclear what interests the Member has.” That is a blatant lie because the dirt sheet quotes Helen Haines’ declarations on the Register of Members’ Interests so Albanese’s staff know exactly what interests Helen Haines has.

The whole dirt sheet is riddled with “what’s in it for her” insinuations against Helen Haines, which again shows Albanese is lying.

Albanese’s leak to Canberra journalists on the Drip shows it was a dirt sheet

The dirt sheet was given to journalists in Canberra Press Gallery, 2 days after the 7.30 Report on government pork-barrelling which featured Helen Haines heavily criticising the government.

Most of the journalists in the Canberra Press Gallery would be on the Drip from Albanese’s office and owe him favours.

The Drip is where Albanese’s office spoon feeds journalists stories, and in return they are expected to write nice stories about the government. The gravity of it was exposed last year by Media Watch, and I wrote at the time:

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was exposed controlling Canberra journalists, to publish his propaganda, on Media Watch on Monday (8/9/25), but that is only half the story.

What is even more disturbing is that Albanese also controls Australia’s old media CEOs and Directors by keeping them cashed up via the News Media Bargaining Code, which shakes down global tech platforms such as Google and Facebook for hundreds of millions of dollars.

As it currently stands, Anthony Albanese’s office is in effect co-authoring many articles being published, in writing and on TV, via Australia’s old media. (Click here to read more)

Would Anthony Albanese put the political hit on someone?

In October 2025 I published an article titled “PM Anthony Albanese defames former senator Rex Patrick to deflect scrutiny on new FOI laws” which starts off:

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese used parliamentary privilege to defame former senator Rex Patrick trying to deflect scrutiny on new FOI laws his government was trying to pass. (Click here to read more)

As per the below video, Albanese called Rex Patrick a “failed former Senator” when there was no need to do so and it was clearly premeditated, knowing Rex Patrick would receive abuse online from Labor Party supporters, and that is what happened. (To watch the full video click here)

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese could have just said a “former senator” instead of saying a “failed former Senator,” which incited abuse online, but that is what Albanese wanted to do.

Looking at what Albanese did to Rex Patrick and what Albanese did to Helen Haines, it is clear he was trying to generate negative publicity for Helen Haines, knowing full well she would receive increased abuse online.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been in politics for 30 years since 1996, and he thinks he is a Labor Party hardman who doesn’t hesitate to destroy people’s reputations if it suits his objectives.

  1. Australia needs a government of mainly Greens & independents. The major parties are corrupt & are leading us down the path well trodden by the criminals in charge in the USA

  2. Give up, Albanese. We’re onto you. Another in a long list of examples of “what you say and what you do, are two different things.”

    Thanks Shane.

  3. I have enormous respect for both Helen Haines and Rex Patrick. That Albanese has targeted both in such nasty ways clearly shows to me that he is from the gutter. He fights ‘dirty’! This is NOT the Labor Party that I voted for and was a former member. I am now so incensed with Labor, that I am ashamed of that admission.

That Albanese aimed to get ‘dirt’ on such a highly respected woman as Haines just drops Albanese even lower in my estimation. I, for one, cannot believe how poor this man’s judgement has been. Ive never liked him, but this…..? Hes way out on line on so many fronts its now exhausting keeping up with them all. We do have 2 good options though – the Greens or Independents. My opinion only, I might add.

With Albanese at the helm, I doubt that Labor have any chance of winning at the next election. I can only hope that he also loses his seat. As for the dirt on Haines, I sincerely hope that this opens voters’ eyes to the incredibly nasty, malicious man that Albanese is. He’s in good company with Trump – they’re both the same.

  4. Keep up the good work KCA. More broadly to this topic – I’m old enough to remember that the bloke who gave the state funeral for his mate Richo is also the bloke who was the biggest political beneficiary of the bashing of poor old Peter Baldwin. He’s had 50 years to work for a gentler, kinder, more inclusive form of politics. No dirt sheet required about this integrity test. He’s not on his own but what an awful excuse for PM.
