Lachlan Murdoch

Will Donald Trump’s arrest also lead to charges against his January 6 co-conspirators Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News?

Former US President Donald Trump has been indicted to face charges relating to paying $130,000 hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels a few weeks before the 2016 Presidential election.

That by itself has no impact on Australia but what might have an impact are other potential charges Trump is facing such as inciting the January 6 United States Capitol attack (2021).

The reason that could impact on Australia is because 2 of Trumps alleged co-conspirators for inciting the January 6 Capital Attack are global criminals Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch who utilised their Fox News channel to promote lies that the 2020 election was rigged. The Murdoch’s business and propaganda interests in Australia could be impacted if they were charged along with Trump for inciting the January 6 Capital Attack which is the main focus of this article.

But a quick overview of Trumps legal issues:

In America they use a Grand Jury who listens to the prosecutor and witnesses, and then votes in secret on whether they believe that enough evidence exists to charge the person with a crime.

One Grand Jury (New York City) voted to charge Donald Trump with crimes related to paying Stormy Daniels and if Trump hands himself next Tuesday as reported then we should find out then exactly what the charges are then. CNN are reporting: “Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case.”

The problem for Donald Trump is there are at least 3 other Grand Juries afoot. One in Georgia where “prosecutors are considering bringing racketeering and conspiracy charges in connection with Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.

There is another Grand Jury investigating Donald Trump for having classified documents at his home and another investigating the January 6 United States Capitol attack. Donald Trump and his family are also being sued by the New York Attorney General in a $250 million civil fraud trial.

Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch in big trouble

Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch have used their Fox News in the US to promote Trump since 2016 because if was good for business but they had a falling out after the 2020 election.

After the 2020 election the Murdoch’s and Fox News initially stopped promoting Trump and his lies about a stolen election but the Murdoch’s quickly realised they were losing views fast and went back to promoting the lie of a stolen election. These facts are shown in the released documents in the Dominion Voting System defamation case against Fox News.

One released email is below which was sent from Rupert Murdoch to Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and cc’d to Lachlan Murdoch. Rupert says it was “Pretty much a crime” in “insisting on the election being stolen” and it was “Inevitable it blew up on Jan 6th”.

The above email put together with all the evidence in the Dominion court case showing Fox News knowingly promoting the lie of the stolen lection before the 6th of January 2021 is a powerful prima facie case that the Murdoch’s and Fox News helped incite the Capital Attack.

If Donald Trump is charged for inciting the 6th of January Capital Attack the Murdoch’s and Fox News could easily also face charges are co-conspirators.

The irony is that Lachlan Murdoch is suing Australian news website Crikey, which he instituted in 2022, for saying the Murdoch’s were co-conspirators and over the last few weeks evidence from the Dominion court case shows that is true. Lachlan Murdoch will now have no choice but to withdraw his defamation claim against Crikey which is currently set down for hearing in October 2023.

I published the below video (31/3/23) titled “What does Donald Trump’s arrest mean for his co-conspirators Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch & Fox?” which has further information:

I published the below video (30/3/23) titled “Smoking gun evidence destroys Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News defence in Dominion $1.6 Billion lawsuit” which has associated information:

As I say in the above video Donald Trump’s criminal charges in New York will likely only be the first domino to fall with numerous other charges from the other Grand Juries to follow.

If that happens I think there is a good chance Trump might take the Murdochs down with him one way or another. Whether is be the Murdochs also facing criminal charges or Trump’s supporters deserting Fox News.

It must be remembered that it is because of Murdoch’s decision to tell lies of the stolen election to support Trump and keep his followers happy that Fox News is being sued by Dominion for $1.6 billion. So maybe Donald Trump outsmarted Rupert Murdoch.

  1. The best analysis of the situation facing Trump and the Murdochs I have read from any news source in the world. It would be so nice if they all took each other down and I agree it is just the beginning for Trump and a future series of a series of rollercoaster litigation cases. It’s nice to see the swamp draining the swamp, but there is little chance left for any decency in US politics, Republicans or Democrats, or US mainstream media for that matter.
