Walter Sofronoff

Corrupt judge Walter Sofronoff and his close personal relationship with News Corp’s Janet Albrechtsen

Walter Sofronoff’s subpoenaed mobile phone records show he made 55 phone calls for a total of 7 ½ hours to Rupert Murdoch’s The Australian, mostly with Janet Albrechtsen, in their collusion to protect the Liberal Party’s cover-up of Bruce Lehrmann’s alleged rape of Brittany Higgins.

But that’s only Sofronoff’s calls to The Australian and Janet Albrechtsen and doesn’t include how many calls Janet Albrechtsen and other News Corp journalists (propagandists) such as Samantha Maiden made to Walter Sofronoff, how many landline calls Sofronoff made to Albrechtsen, and how many emails etc.

The true communication between Sofronoff and Albrechtsen is likely to be at least double or triple, if not a lot more, then the recorded phone calls on Sofronoff’s phone records. And how many meetings did they have in person?

And given there was a lot of communication between Walter Sofronoff and Janet Albrechtsen was all the communications professional or was some of it personal?

The phone records are powerful direct evidence that shows Rupert Murdoch’s and his employee’s collusion with government officials to pervert the course of justice.

As someone wrote on Twitter “Why did Sofronoff choose to speak so often with a leading Bruce Lehrmann supporter?

Not only is Janet Albrechtsen a leading Bruce Lehrmann supporter but she is Rupert Murdoch’s number one attack dog going after Brittany Higgins and her supporters and Walter Sofronoff would have known it.

The ACT Supreme Court heard on Wednesday (31/1/24) that “Sofronoff made 65 phone calls to journalists, 55 of which were with reporters from The Australian. He said the total time spent on the phone was nine hours and 57 minutes, seven hours and 33 minutes of which was with The Australian, and that Sofronoff and Albrechtsen had been in contact since February 2023 until his role as inquiry chair ended – during which time she received “confidential information relating to the inquiry”.

“During the actual public hearings [one part of the Sofronoff inquiry], Mr Sofronoff made 10 calls to The Australian, eight of them to Ms Albrechtsen,” he said.” (Click here to read more)

Almost 85% of Sofronoff’s calls to journalists were to The Australian (Albrechtsen) and like I said earlier the true amount is a lot higher when you add calls Janet Albrechtsen would have made to Sofronoff and landline calls etc.

Walter Sofronoff headed up the ACT Inquiry that was initiated to investigate former ACT Prosecutor Shane Drumgold’s claim of political interference and the attempted police cover-up of the alleged rape.

The ACT Inquiry grew to also include retaliatory complaints by the ACT police (AFP) against Shane Drumgold.

Walter Sofronoff published a report attacking Shane Drumgold and defending the police which he illegally leaked to Janet Albrechtsen days, if not weeks, before he gave the report to the ACT Government. I published the below video on the leak on the 8th of August 2023 titled “Walter Sofronoff and Janet Albrechtsen’s great lie. The ACT Report was only leaked to her first”:

I am actually a direct witness regarding Walter Sofronoff’s phone calls with journalists and I wrote in an article titled “Corrupt judge Walter Sofronoff, who faces up to 6 months jail and owns a plane at Toowoomba airport, has gone into hiding” on the 7th of August 2023:

Walter Sofronoff worked the phones during the ACT Inquiry calling journalists to push his propaganda

Walter Sofronoff was personally calling journalists to trash whistleblower Shane Drumgold. How do I know? I spoke to him for 32 minutes after he emailed me asking to talk but all he did was trash Drumgold. The phone record on my mobile is below.

Walter Sofronoff phone calls

The bottom line is that Walter Sofronoff was trying to influence me to write articles trashing whistleblower Shane Drumgold’s reputation to help Walter Sofronoff stitch him up in Sofronoff’s ultimate goal to cover-up the Liberal Party – AFP cover-up of Brittany Higgins alleged rape at Parliament House.

The question that people should be asking is: What is Inquiry Chairperson Walter Sofronoff doing talking to independent journalists during the course of an Inquiry trying to get them to write articles trashing the reputation of whistleblower Shane Drumgold who is one of the people Sofronoff is meant to be investigating? And given that, how many times did Walter Sofronoff talk to News Corp propagandists Janet Albrechtsen and Samantha Maiden?

Someone on Twitter, where I have already published the above picture, said I shouldn’t publish Walter Sofronoff’s mobile phone number and normally I would agree.

But this case is different because I wouldn’t have Walter Sofronoff’s mobile number if he didn’t give it to me while he was trying to commit a crime and the fact that he gave me his mobile number is a key part of the evidence that should be on the public record. The new evidence of Walter Sofronoff’s phone calls to journalist’s supports the article I published on the 10th of August 2023 titled “Corrupt judge Walter Sofronoff was bribed by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp to leak ACT Inquiry Report to Janet Albrechtsen” which starts off:

At the same time Walter Sofronoff was illegally leaking the ACT Inquiry Report, to propagandist Janet Albrechtsen, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp was negotiating with Sofronoff to cash in on the dodgy ACT Inquiry findings.

A lot of people are asking what motivated Walter Sofronoff, a former judge and Solicitor-General of Queensland, to put his career and liberty at risk by breaking the law with his leaking of the ACT Inquiry Report to Murdoch’s Janet Albrechtsen.

Below we will see the evidence showing some of the benefits that Walter Sofronoff was planning on receiving and they are linked to News Corp. But firstly, it’s worth noting this is not the first time this exact scam has happened. (Click here to read the article)

I published the below video on Wednesday with my initial thoughts on the new evidence of Walter Sofronoff’s mobile phone records:

The hole Walter Sofronoff is in is going to keep getting deeper and deeper with Shane Drumgold’s case in the ACT Supreme Court back for full hearing on the 13th of February 2024.

Justice Michael Lee will hand down his decision in Bruce Lehrmann’s defamation case against Channel 10 and Lisa Wilkinson in a few weeks or months. It will be interesting to see if Justice Lee jumps in the hole with Walter Sofronoff and hands down a cover-up style judgment or if he hands down a true and just judgment shining a light on at least some parts of the cover-up.

The whole cover-up of Brittany Higgins alleged rape is so blatant and obvious it’s time for the federal government to set up a Royal Commission.

  1. I agree: Royal Commission now. This whole affair stinks of corruption like nothing else in recent memory

  2. Just more fallout from the Brittany Higgins saga…..when will it end? And at what cost? Meanwhile she is swanning around in France without a care in the world. The trouble that one night out has caused so many people….and for what!!!

    • Yep, Why not just let the corruption fester and grow and let the perps get off the hook? I dont think so! She’s in France to restart her life has been ruined by a corrupt government and courtier journalists. Thank Goodness for the likes of KCA. Should be Australian of the year.

      • I am right with your reply Pat ,It is tough when someone has to leave the country to keep well. What can we do about AUSTRALIAN LAW when this is the outcome???

    • Without a care in the world? Seriously? She’s been maligned, vilified, sued, basically driven from her country and you think she doesn’t have a care in the world? What a privileged life you must lead…

    • Good question!
Mind you, why say its here when it takes two to tango, and Bruce was the one plying HER with drinks (on record), offered her a lift home, went via Parliament House and took her in there, then LEFT HER THERE. So I daresay that is the story that has nuclear bombed so many, many lives – in parliament, in the justice system, in the AFP, in the media (wow, the list goes on and on) and now Sobronoff himself.

    • Where is your evidence that Brittany Higgins is “swanning around in France without a care”? What a crass comment!

  3. Keep on saying, the calibre of the judicary in Australia is very poor in all jurisdictions..these latest allegations are absolutely appalling. With the combination of the person selected who ran this inquiry combined with the complete failure of ACT policing to be impartial makes you wonder if there is any hope with these politically motivated individuals. Truth doesn’t appear to be relevant at all..

    • Nothing has changed with the judiciary or law enforcement in Australia since the colonial era. Still as corrupt as ever.

  4. Why the hell are all these crooks walking around when they should be in jail .
The whole system seems corrupt not dissimilar to Pakistan or Argentina and that group of people .There is basically anarchy in Australia

    • Just shows Australia is just as corrupt as the most corrupt of these countries you’ve listed, difference is apathetic media controlled by a few ruthless faceless grubs, we all know who they are.

  5. The whole law enforcement ( policing, the courts, judges) needs a dramatic clean-up & a honest tough politician to demand it is done.. How can we accept people being ordered to be incarcerated by morally, ethically & criminally corrupt law enforcers who should be incarcerated themselves.? What bloody Hope have us Aussies got if we allow corruption in our politicians & law enforcement departments & courts.. lt maybe the way in other countries but it’s not the way of the Aussies, G’day mate, maté’s don’t crap on each other, we need to strongly retain the larrikin, friendly, honest Aussie mateship we are known worldwide for tho it’s fading sadly helped by selfishness instead of mutual respect… Keep going Shane, l admire your zest for truth & honesty..👍🙏..

  6. Good summary of a very sorry and tawdry affair. And I wonder who was behind Albrechtisan’s completely over the top support of George Pell in spite of the raft of contradctiodnary evidence.

  7. If the allegations mentioned by Shane are proven to be true, then there are serious ramifications for all the decisions that Sofronoff made as a judge. This could blow the Qld courts apart.

  8. I was at the court yesterday. The judge told Drumgold’s barrister that he was very loath to let them cross-examine Sofronoff.

  9. “The judge told Drumgold’s barrister that he was very loath to let them cross-examine Sofronoff.” …

Was there a specific reason the judge fully explained for his decision / statement?

Was there / will there be a cross examination?

What was the final outcome please?

  10. Brittany Higgins is more than entitled to her financial compensation, and is free to do with it whatever she chooses. After all, the real drivers in this entire affair are federal politicians across the entire political spectrum. The words and actions of our most senior elected representatives set the scene, established a precedent and gave the green light for everything that followed.

In particular, during the sitting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday 8 February 2022, Brittany Higgins was present in the Public Gallery of Parliament. From that vantage point she received a formal apology, as well as effusive praise, from speakers representing all sides of politics – Scott Morrison, Anthony Albanese, Barnaby Joyce, Adam Bandt and Zali Steggall. This occurred some ten or so months before the compensation amount paid to Brittany Higgins was determined and/or settled. The formal apology and praise from Australia’s Prime Minister, no less, and other political leaders was prima facie acknowledgement of the Commonwealth’s obligation to pay her compensation. If this was not the case, why did our political leaders see fit to give Brittany Higgins a formal apology in the first place?
