Friendlyjordies says organised crime identities are running NSW after authorities refuse to investigate death threats

Friendlyjordies claims NSW authorities are ignoring death threats being made by organised criminals which is linked to the firebombing of his house in November 2022 which itself is attempted murder.

Friendlyjordies had his house firebombed (22/11/22) a few months after he published a video titled “Coronation” detailing crime figures and alleged crime figures associated with a company former NSW Premier John Barilaro went to work for after retiring from politics. (Click here to read more)

One man was arrested and charged on the 21st of December 2023 with the firebombing. The ABC reported he is an alleged associate of the Alameddine organised crime network who featured in the Coronation video.

The death threats, at least in part, were to make Friendlyjordies take down the Coronation video from his YouTube channel.

The below statement was published on the Friendlyjordies YouTube channel on the 1st of February:

You might have noticed that we haven’t been releasing videos after the police arrested a suspect for the firebombing of my house. While we’re very grateful for their persistence throughout this ordeal, we felt it would be prudent to see what the response would be from certain individuals.

Their response has been one of rather perplexing confidence. Buoyed by the lack of further arrests they have decided to be much more blunt with their requests, threatening anyone they believe had handed over information to assist with the creation of the video Coronation.

This video detailed links former Deputy Premier John Barilaro had with development company Coronation Property.

The video encompassed more than Coronation Property associates. It included an array of spirited characters, many of whom were enraged with its release. Police have made it very clear that many of the prime suspects in the firebombing are in that video.

Now, over a year later, these figures are once again venting, threatening dire consequences if the video isn’t taken down. Given these people’s colourful history we don’t consider these to be idle threats.

Naturally, we contacted the appropriate authorities, but it appears these men have engulfed the state in a state of fear. It appears these men are indeed above the law. It appears these men are free to point the scythe at anyone they wish, blackmail them with the most heinous, violent acts imaginable and there is not an authority in the land powerful enough, or perhaps foolhardy enough to check them.

We have done our absolute best to keep the video up. Believe me, we have. But if the content of Coronation is to fall on wilfully deaf ears, if its only tangible result is the death of innocent people, we will not have their lives hang on our conscience.

In other words, you win. We’re taking down the video. Congratulations. You run this city.

We were ignorant of the fact that Sydney is more or less 1920s Chicago. But now that we’re fully aware, you are free to run your business without further bother from us. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The real shame in all of this, of course, is that it would have made a great story for self-proclaimed home of Australian investigative journalism Four Corners, that touts that it exists to serve the public interest. And you, of course.

It would be very interesting to hear the editorial rationale for why the paralysing grip that organised crime has over the first state didn’t meet that criteria while trying to get to the bottom of why there isn’t more homosexual AFL players did.

Questions for another time, perhaps.

The question for now, though, is how did these men accumulate so much power that they have incapacitated any of the so-called estates from acting on matters that question its own ascendancy?

This is not thugs killing other thugs for territory. This is unlawful punishment for reporting on the erosion of state authority. You would think that that would interest the state for self-preservation purposes if nothing else and yet it doesn’t.

As such, if the policy is to let sleeping dogs lie, so be it. We can live with that. In fact, we have no choice. We have learned that there is a currency that is far more dependable than the dollar, and that’s terror.

We can take solace in the fact that we did our part – more than our part. More than we will ever be able to publicly divulge. We ran out on to no man’s land without any support and support never came.

End of statement from Friendlyjordies

Below is the video Friendlyjordies published with Jordan Shanks reading the above statement:

I wonder if the people making the threats factored in taking on the whole YouTube / internet fraternity. The Coronation video has now been reuploaded by a number of other YouTube channels and a quick check shows the video has been watched over 450,000 times over the last 10 days or so. The Barbara Streisand effect has kicked in.

Friendlyjordies has had run-ins with the NSW police before and has helped shine a light on police corruption. (Click here and here to read more)

When Friendlyjordies and people associated with him are receiving death threats and the police are not doing anything about it you have to wonder if it is because of Friendlyjordies’ previous run-ins with NSW Police or because he helped shine a light on NSW police corruption.

Friendlyjordies says in his statement: “We have learned that there is a currency that is far more dependable than the dollar, and that’s terror.” That’s true and it is the governments of the day that allow terror to reign supreme.

Imagine if a journalist at the ABC, Nine or any other old media company received death threats and the police did nothing. They would call for the police commissioner to be sacked.

Friendlyjordies is a comedian but also an independent journalist and over the last few years independent journalists have been doing more and more of the heavy lifting exposing corruption so should be given the same protection the old media journalists would receive.

  1. As in Mexico, the criminals run the show in NSW. Politicians are there to cast a veil of respectability and to ensure nothing changes, while the police protect the villains. The Rum Corps days never ended in NSW.

  2. Not surprised that there are suggestions NSW police are incapable of addressing issues related to organised crime, their overall track record clearly shows this, always excel at the soft targets who can’t fight back, like strip searching of Children, attacking senior citizens, attacking those who dare to display opposite views of the incumbent government, commissioners who are clones of the government, seperation of powers does not exist within NSW, easy to see why today’s youth have no respect for the law, a succession of dishonest lying Politicians, same organisations of criminal gangs most likely have connections to the public service, politicians and judiciary, these are the risks connected to any individual or organisation that publishes information against these crime gangs, expect retribution.

  3. I watch from NZ with growing horror the clear corruption of Australian policing and government. The behaviour around the torture of refugees imprisoned on Manus island and the draconian measures to stop reporting were horrifying enough to arouse my concern. But as I learn more of rape ignored, corruption, police malpractice, criminals acting with impunity it seems Australia is a cesspit of democracy abused. Now I know why Aussie cops who arrived in Christchurch after our quake to help were viewed with horror as they acted with such aggression even our cops were shocked. It’s just normal practice. No accountability.

  4. Let’s be honest. New South Wales started as a place to deposit Criminals. Nothing has changed over the past 200 odd years.
