Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese biggest election lie. The NACC scam exposed further!

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised voters he would clean up government corruption, with a genuine National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), when he was campaigning for the 2022 federal election. But as every day goes by more evidence comes to hand that makes it clearer that was a big lie by Albanese and the Labor Party.

The latest evidence of the big NACC lie is Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus being exposed for trying to appoint Labor Party crony Stephen Rothman, who is a NSW Supreme Court judge, as a deputy commissioner of the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

The attempted appointment of Stephen Rothman to the NACC has to be put together with the other Labor lies about the NACC and now the Labor Party lies about cleaning up the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) which I do below.

By collating the lies it gives a fuller picture of how Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party plan on continuing with the jobs for the boys and girls routine and concealing government corruption.

On Monday (12/2/24) the SMH reported in an article titled “Reputation at risk”: Albanese government’s corruption watchdog pick pulled over party links”:

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus wanted to install a legal figure with Labor links to the second-highest position in the new anti-corruption commission before the committee vetting the appointment baulked and helped kill the proposal.

The Albanese government nominated NSW Supreme Court Justice Stephen Rothman to become a deputy commissioner of the National Anti-Corruption Commission late last year, prompting the Greens to accuse Labor of risking the reputation of the non-political body, which may investigate the government and its political opponents.

Rothman was a Labor candidate for the seat of Wentworth in 1984, contested Labor preselection for the seat of Dobell in 2003, and was a founding member of the International Centre on Trade Union Rights.

A senior legal source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to frankly discuss the issue, claimed it was inappropriate for Labor to pick Rothman – appointed to the court by the NSW Labor government in 2005 – given his widely known party and union connections in NSW political and legal circles. On Tuesday (13/2/24) the SMH followed up with:

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus’ department used limited Google searches to help vet potential candidates for jobs on Australia’s new anti-corruption watchdog, it has been revealed, as the Coalition accused the government of attempting to “stack” the non-political body.

Senators on Tuesday grilled officials in Dreyfus’ department over his nomination of NSW Supreme Court Justice Stephen Rothman to be deputy commissioner of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). (Click here to read more)

The Labor Party has disbanded the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) because of Liberal Party “cronyism”

The AAT website says:

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws. We review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies and, in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. We also review decisions made under Norfolk Island laws.

We can review decisions made under more than 400 Commonwealth Acts and legislative instruments. The most common types of decisions we review relate to: child support, Commonwealth workers’ compensation, family assistance, paid parental leave, social security and student assistance, migration and refugee visas and visa-related decisions, taxation and veterans’ entitlements etc. (Click here to read more)

In December 2022 the Guardian reported in an article titled “Administrative appeals tribunal axed with Labor declaring it ‘irreversibly damaged’ by Coalition”:

Attorney general Mark Dreyfus says review body was stacked with Liberals in ‘disgraceful exhibition of cronyism’

The federal government is abolishing the administrative appeals tribunal, claiming the former Coalition government “irreversibly damaged” the review body by stacking it with Liberal MPs, candidates and staffers.

A new administrative body will be established next year, with the attorney general, Mark Dreyfus, promising a more transparent appointment process for members.

Public service staff working at the AAT will transition to the new body and open cases will be transferred. But appointed members will have to re-apply for their jobs.

The move comes after years of allegations by the Labor party that the Coalition had filled the ranks of the AAT with supporters.

“By appointing 85 former Liberal MPs, failed Liberal candidates, former Liberal staffers and other close Liberal associates without any merit-based selection process, including some individuals with no relevant experience or expertise, the former government fatally compromised the AAT, undermined its independence and eroded the quality and efficiency of its decision making,” Dreyfus told reporters on Friday. In February 2024 the SMH reported: “Dreyfus faces backlash over new tribunal integrity test”

The government of the day would be able to stack its political allies into a new administration tribunal in a repeat of the jobs-for-mates culture that dogged the former Coalition government, critics claim, as a new stoush brews over a key plank of Labor’s integrity agenda.

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus’ proposal for the new Administrative Review Tribunal is at risk of not securing sufficient support in the parliament, as crossbenchers, legal experts and integrity advocates say it fails to future-proof the body against politicisation. (Click here to read more)

On the 2nd of October 2022 I published an article titled “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s fake National Anti-Corruption Commission fails whistleblowers” which starts off:

PM Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party have backflipped on their election promise for a powerful National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). One of the ways they have done that is by making sure as few whistleblowers come forward as possible which is designed to cover up Labor Party corruption in future years. (Click here to read more)

On the 9th of October 2022 I published an article titled “Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus cooks the books to justify secret hearings at the National Anti-Corruption Commission and video you won’t see at a Federal ICAC” which starts off:

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus is lying and deceiving the Australian public regarding the percentage of public hearings the NSW ICAC has in an attempt to justify secret hearings at the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). Having secret hearings at the NACC is not about protecting reputations it is about helping criminals hide crimes.

Mark Dreyfus claims that the NSW ICAC only has 5% of their hearings in the public so I contacted the NSW ICAC, as per the emails below, and they sent me a link to their latest annual report for the 2020-2021 year. The report shows Mr Dreyfus has cooked the books and is lying.

Normally the opposition (Liberal and National Parties) would be very quick to point out such blatant public lies but they are working with the government to make sure voters rarely get to see the National Anti-Corruption Commission hearings in public. This should concern every Australian. (Click here to read more)

David Pocock – Independent Senator for the ACT had the below to say on his Twitter account (13/2/24) in a tweet titled “It’s time to legislate safeguards that prevent political appointments and jobs for mates.” (Click here to see on his Twitter page)

As Senator David Pocock points out Labor’s performance when it comes to jobs for the boys and girls isn’t any better than the Liberal Party’s. The AAT will end up being full of Labor Party cronies who have replaced the Liberal Party cronies.

As a side note and declaration Justice Stephen Rothman handed down the Munsie v Dowling judgement where Kerry Stokes, Ryan Stokes and their lawyer Justine Munsie sued me for defamation. I wrote about in an article in May 2018 titled “Billionaire Kerry Stokes made to look like a fool in his defamation “win” against journalist Shane Dowling”. (Click here to read the article)

I can tell you from firsthand experience in the Munsie v Dowling matter that Justice Stephen Rothman is as corrupt as they come and Australia dodged a bullet when he wasn’t appointed to the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission needs to have a public hearing investigating itself after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party have corrupted it right from the start with the collusion of Peter Dutton and the coalition.

But as we know Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton did a dirty deal to make sure the NACC rarely if ever has public hearings so the corruption can be easily hidden.

  1. Yes, this will be the main reason, next election I expect a minority Labor Gov. It has turned my stomach and also other people I know away from Labor.

Next election recommend voting for whoever is the strongest on turning up NACC capability and transparency. Labor will be on the bottom but just above Liberals.

If we want more responsible government, we need more transparency so jobs and kickbacks for mates are no longer hidden from the public.

  2. In breaking news, PM Albanese will set up an enquiry to investigate why the NACC has failed to investigate. An insider explained the lack of progress was caused by the non-delivery of paper and pens with the NACC`s logo. From China.

  3. Amazing we had a filth corrupt Government before, and we have another one now, Dreyfus when i have dealt with is now good and i am a labour man, although i don’t trust either

  4. Regardless, as soon as the secrecy provisions were announced, any reason to take the NACC as a serious anti-corruption instrument was lost.

    Democracy not.

  5. You’re right on the money, KCA. Our latest PM (read Pie Mincer) has seriously let the Australian voters down. He ought to hang his head in shame. His mother would probably roll over in her grave. She has always, during his political career, been described by the PM as a role model whose honest values he cherished. As for the AG, well he’s going right along with the sham. Poor fella, my country.

We voted the other lot out because of their blatant corruption. This mob is no better, it seems.

  6. hmm was good press when bringing down Morrison with so much corruption and dodgy deals! Haha so what about the ALP , squeaky clean ?!

and what happened to the promise to bring Assange to Australia not happy until he is dead make USA happy

  7. Mark Dreyfus holds the Victorian seat of Isaacs. Mark is from Victoria and holds a law degree. Mark will not expose the Victorian legal system to a truthful non biased inquiry into the corruption that has now infested Victoria, including the courts. Any Liberal or Labor or for that matter Greens politician who even pocked their heads above the trench line knows full well that their political career would be short lived. Australia is still a colony run by the Rum Corps who support its colonial exploitive legal structure where respect for family and community within the fabric of the law do not exist.
