Scott Morrison’s new scam, claiming mental health issues. Seeking a defence for his crimes?

Scott Morrison now claims that he “experienced “debilitating and agonising” anxiety during much of his time as prime minister, and that he would have become seriously depressed without medication.”

Scott Morrison made the claim in “an extract of his forthcoming book” he gave to The Australian to promote the book.

Morrison has stooped to a new low trying to justify his crimes and corruption as Prime Minister while at the same time trying to rip off more people by selling his book of lies.

It is very common for white-collar criminals to play the mental health card as a defence and with Morrison being despised by many Australians, and even his own Liberal Party colleagues wouldn’t show up to his farewell dinner, he has chosen to play the last card in his hand.

In this article I will drill down into Scott Morrison lies as they don’t add up when examined in any detail and it shows that once again Scotty is up to his old scamming ways.

I will outline the background to the new claims of “anxiety and depression” below then deal with Scott Morrison’s blatant lies on the matter.

Background

Scott Morrison, 30th Prime Minister of Australia from 2018 to 2022, has been receiving plenty of media attention over the last couple of days promoting his book.

It has also made international news with the UK’s BBC publishing a story on their website.

The ABC reported:

In a book Mr Morrison says explores how faith intersected with his time as leader, he wrote that the toll of the job had worn on him, and his waves of anxiety had become acute. “My doctor was amazed I had lasted as long as I had before seeking help,” Mr Morrison wrote.

“Without this help, serious depression would have manifested. What impacted me was the combination of pure physical exhaustion with the unrelenting and callous brutality of politics and media attacks.

“As a politician, I know this goes with the territory. That’s not a complaint or even an accusation. It’s just reality. Politicians are not made of stone, yet they’re often treated as though they are, including by each other.”

Mr Morrison told the ABC his Christian faith had also served as a major aid for him. “The meds were helpful, but faith for me has always been the major ingredient,” Mr Morrison said. (Click here to read more)

The SMH reported (27/4/24)

“In the interview and the book, Morrison declined to say which medication he had taken and said that while he had got through the first year of the pandemic in 2020, in 2021 “that’s when the pile-on really got under way”.” (Click here to read more) (At the beginning of and throughout 2021 is when Scott Morrison’s cover-up of Brittany Higgins rape was exposed in full.)

Morrison put similar messages on his Facebook and Twitter accounts. Below is the Twitter message: (Click here to see on Twitter)

Morrison has now published the below video message on Twitter where he says he was dealing with “anxiety and mental health issues” but they were mild and “after that” he was able to go on and land the AUKUS deal. (Click here to see on Twitter)

Scott Morrison’s lies about “anxiety and depression” analysed

1. Scott Morrison says, “Sharing my story is intended to encourage others and normalise and de-stigmatise what is very common for many Australians, who deal with this every day.”.

Lie 1. If that was true Scott Morrison would have shared his “story” long ago. His main goal of sharing it now is to help sell his book and make him money.

2. Scott Morrison flip flops between having anxiety which he seems to claim led into depression, but he provides no evidence of what drugs he took or who his doctor was.

Lie 2: “Mixing alcohol and anti-depressants …… exactly who I want in power”. And as we saw, Scott Morrison drank alcohol on a regular basis as PM and so he would have put Barnaby Joyce to shame if he was on medication while drinking.

3. Scott Morrison told the ABC “The meds were helpful, but faith for me has always been the major ingredient,”.

Lie 3. Almost everyone knows Scott Morrison is a fake Christian. His book is directed at the few people who believe his fake Christianity. In the below video, March 2022, former Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells outs some of Scott Morrison’s corruption and his fake Christianity and Morrison’s mentor Hillsong’s Brian Houston.

4. Scott Morrison told the ABC “What impacted me was the combination of pure physical exhaustion with the unrelenting and callous brutality of politics and media attacks”.

Lies 4 and 5. Firstly, Scott Morrison was well known for being the laziest Prime Minister we have ever had, and he very rarely worked weekends so the “pure physical exhaustion” is a lie.

Secondly, Scott Morrison in the below video from 2020 said he did not care what people said about him and I have no doubt that is true so his claim “the unrelenting and callous brutality of politics and media attacks” impacted him is another lie.

The SMH reported (27/4/24) in an interview to promote his book:

“Asked directly if Australians had not known who he really was, Morrison said: “I think that’s true … I think at the end of the day, to my detriment, they [voters] bought a narrative peddled by others to destroy me, which was effective, but they didn’t know [me] and frankly … maybe if I had told them, they may have reacted more strongly. Who knows?”” (Click here to read more)

Yes, Scotty is a victim of “a narrative peddled by others to destroy” him and we all didn’t know about it.

The old “play the victim” routine is one well warn by crooks and conman. It is used regularly by Rupert Murdoch’s propagandists who likely helped Scott Morrison write his book of lies.

In the below video Sam Dastyari, in April 2019, talks about Scott Morrison’s dirty tactics to be elected to parliament in 2007 where Morrison destroyed the reputation of a competitor in the Liberal Party.

Scott Morrison Twitter lies 2

Why do criminals play the mental health card only after they have been caught? In this case no one wants to know Morrison in business or politics. E.g. Do you think Peter Dutton or anyone in the Liberal Party will have Scott Morrison out campaigning for them at the next election? Of course not, because they know it would be electoral suicide.

While all the old media are promoting Scott Morrison’s lie to help him sell his book, make him some money and rehabilitate his trashed reputation I have tried to shine some truth on what Scotty is really up to.

If you are thinking of buying Scott Morrison’s book of lies you should hold off because the first people to buy it will quickly be highlighting on social media all the lies in the book.

The list of lies Scott Morrison told while he was Prime Minister is a mile long but there are a few people who still believe his lies and others who are happy to promote his lies because it suits their agenda.

Scott Morrison is a career criminal and his claim of anxiety and depression is just another lie to him. But it’s an insult to people who do suffer from mental health issues.

  1. Scott Morrison
Lucky he could afford to get help
What about the poor people that can’t afford it and left in the gutter

    • That’s if he even needed help, I don’t believe his story for a minute. Just another sleazy lie, told to promote his book sales, which hopefully will be very few.

    • SSRIs amd Benzodiazepine are giveaways, Mick.
Side effecs of SSRIs include reduced libido, that could be a reason he’s reluctant to identify the drug, but I’d agree it’s more likely he’s making it up and getting a plug in for antidepressants too.

  2. IF he was overwhelmed by being P.M., it was because he was ‘Not it for purpose’ due to the fact that of his inability to comprehend his crass self-opinionated view of his capabilities!

  3. No depression is sight when he invented robodebt to punish the untermensch. Happy to make them depressed and suicidal as a result though. The man is an arshole and “I’m sick of your bullshit”

  4. Credit where credit is due, he does such a superb job of making himself look a jerk, I guess it just comes naturally…

  5. Well done, KCA.
Yes, Morrison was never a Leader.
I like & applaud this end result for Morrison, he is now receiving his just rewards: no Australian company wants to employ him, his own party refused to attend his farewell party & his office staff hired Lawyers after the rape cover up because they knew he would throw anyone under the bus.
From my analysis – Morrison ensured the cover up – to close to an election.
Reynolds is complicit & his chief of staff,
    Gaetjens .
    Keep up this fine journalism.
    👌😁

    • Morrison has had the last laugh on Australians. Thanks to the Albanese Labor government approval of AUKUS, this is where Morrison’s future income will be.

Scott Morrison has come under fire for taking on two jobs in the US private defence sector after the former prime minister announced his exit from politics.
After revealing plans to resign in February, Mr Morrison said he would be joining consulting firm American Global Strategies as non-executive vice chairman.

He will also assume a strategic advisor role with AUKUS investor DYNE Maritime, alongside former US Secretary of State and ex-CIA director Mike Pompeo.

The venture capital company invests in technologies related to the joint security agreement that was orchestrated under Mr Morrison’s leadership.

Maybe this was Morrison’s plan all along. After all he said ‘ he didn’t believe in government’ at a speech at the Victory Church, Perth a few days after the May 2022 loss.

  6. The book is on Amazon and called ‘Plans For Your Good: A Prime Minister’s Testimony of God’s Faithfulness’.
    Foreword by Mike Pence

With a such a confused title I can’t see it being ‘critically acclaimed’ or a movie version ever made. No customer reviews yet.

    • Both Howard’s and Morrisons books would be excellent for starting the weekend BBQ. I highly recommend both.

  7. Morrison is no different from the rest ,when they became Prime Minister of this country.
They all lie , only in it for themselves and how much money they can make from taxpayers.
They go in it with so much money and come out millionaires..
They have destroyed this country, and Labor is making sure they finish the job …. Traitors all of them….

  8. Morrison is bunk! Morrison has had the protection of one of the worlds most corrupted media’s and still does. The only people in Australia that suffered anxiety while Morrison was PM, were the poor damned bastards that refused to vote for him, that suffered so terribly from his catastrophic failures, he repeatedly inflicted on them.
While Morrison well knows that religious fundamentalist evangelicals are known to have the highest intake of prescription barbiturate sedatives in the world, “Utah and other red States in the USA are the highest”. Just to maintain the fake facade from the hypocrisy of their false beliefs and depressive lifestyles, it’s doubtful this would apply to such a calculating deplorable charlatan like Morrison?
Meanwhile we look at the cause of so much misogyny and violence against women, look no further than the books written about the deplorable Abbott/Morrison Govt, it’s extremist LNP/Media culture warrior hate machine and the secretive shadowy religious fundamentalist faction branch stacking machine hiding in the dark underneath it all!

  9. He’s a moron and dope, as well as a liar, never was up to the job, should never have got it and put us through four years of horrible dressups. That ever present smirk gave me anxiety.
Anyway, why is the bugger still here???? Didn’t he say he was moving to the US. Well bloody well go, get out of here.
    Anne

  10. So …..WE THE PEOPLE were purposely kept deluded by Morrison during his tenure as PM ….whilst we were reliant upon HIS judgement as to what was good for us and as to whether or not we got involved in WAR on the spot at anytime?
IMPO the man needs to be put to trial for In-Office Misleading of The Public, then indefinitely consigned to a Psychiatric Hospital/Sanatorium
If his HillbillySong Church mates could all be included…that would be great too!

  11. So he suffered from depression and anxiety doing the job that God told him was rightfully his? Maybe God was wrong? But God is never wrong. Now I’ m confused.

  12. His alleged symptoms are hardly “mental illness”…those are a direct, expected outcome of his conduct. An insult to those with genuine mental illness.

  13. Anxiety? Depression? Try Robo-debt for that and more.

Even though I am an atheist, I know that the teachings of the New Testament. Morrison didn’t follow them. Instead of looking after the sick and the poor, he demonised them and illegally took money from the most marginalised people in society and instead preached the ‘Prosperity Gospel’ that said God blesses the rich and greedy.

  14. Scumocchio’s book should begin with the phraise, “Once upon a time” and if you scratch and sniff its covwer it wreaks of bull shit.

  15. Send Scotty to one of the offshore detentions centres like Nauru for therapy and rest. Maybe there is a migrant there that can help Scotty cleanse his sins. I don’t care what Scotty has or what happens to Scotty the bully he is was a disgrace and is still a disgrace to Australia.

  16. Morrison complaining of anxiety and mental health issues whilst punishing refugees and people on welfare for not being amongst the “chosen ones” in his happy-clapper church is like a thug putting his boot into you and complaining of his ingrown toenail!?!

  17. I doubt Albanese would have been elected if Morrison was not PM. The Labor vote was AGAINST MORRISON….not FOR ALBANESE.

  18. In breaking news, NACC have announced the success of their first investigations. HOWEVER, no names or details as this would embarrass the villains. Only small potatoes so far as we still don`t know if biggies like Morrison are under scrutiny. On SBS today, ASIO files on Frank Hardy are getting an airing. Makes you wonder if commenters here are under scrutiny when you expose the Establishment.

  19. His children will pay as he certainly never suffered the little children. The sins of the parent is beyond his intellect. What an abomination of a human being. And for those non-entities who supported him they are culpable too.

  20. Morrison wants to blame the Premiers, in part, for his mental problems. He calls it a pile-on. Wrong. Daniel Andrews had to deal with a thousand times worse pile-on from the Murdoch media.

  21. If Scott Morrison’s mental issues were so debilitating at the time, why didn’t he step down as Prime Minister? Morrison cannot have it both ways. Either you are physically and mentally up to the task of leading the country, or you are not.

  22. It’s always interesting to hear the rantings of Gods elect. The starving, dying children in the world, people killed by landslides etc etc – no, no, they’re not worthy of the Lords love. But the shit from the Shire, or Scummo as my friends and I like to say? Of course, have an extra helping of all the goodies in life. All of the above comments apply. Just go away.

  23. The giveaway is that he thinks anti-depressants work.

And I have to say, it’s a bit rich for him to pretend to advocate for the mentally ill after spending so many years tormenting them as social security minister and then prime minister. The Coalition’s welfare policies are based on the belief that anyone getting a pension for mental illness is a bludger and a malingerer who just doesn’t want to work. All the changes they made or attempted to make to the disability pension or the NDIS were all rooted in that belief system, so it’s a bit rich for him to come out now and spruik for mental health.

  24. What follows is my honest opinion:

The DELUSIONAL PATHETIC SELFISHNESS from this man-child Scott Morrison continues unabated.
Do you think he requires psychiatric intervention?
He certainly chooses to continue and enhance his life as a an extremely stupid person, an imbecile.
I will be greatly surprised if he is invited onto the hustings for Peter Dutton, or whomever, at the next federal election? Any bet takers?
Frankly, I don’t think he will be!

    PEOPLE, PLEASE DON’T EVER FORGET
Data from Services Australia shows that, between July 2016 and October 2018, 2,030 people who had received a Robodebt-related letter subsequently died. There is no recorded evidence that the deaths were caused directly by the scheme, but then it has not been investigated or researched to that level of detail.

Undoubtedly there would be a percentage of the lives lost, and many families dislocated due directly to the exacerbation this Liberal National ILLEGAL Policy of ROBODEBT! Just ONE LIFE would be too many.
INHUMANITY and MANIPULATION just forgotten and pushed aside it would seem!

    Where is the NACC?

Compare that to just over 1,000 Australian Defence Force combatants’ lives lost since WW2 – that includes Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

“HE can GO – Mr Speaker.”

  25. Morrison, in cahoots with the Murdoch press, has now commenced a full-on rehabilitation program to reduce the impact of the Scomo years at the forthcoming election. Some will be convinced, mainly journos writing for you know who, but the majority will hopefully ignore this charlatan attempt at excusing the worst PM we have encountered since the last century.
