Anthony AlbanesePrime Minister Anthony Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese uses a shotgun to kill a canary

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has overseen his first jailing of a whistleblower, David McBride, even though Albanese promised before the 2022 federal election to protect whistleblowers.

David McBride will be a lightening rod at the next federal election for anti-corruption supporters which is bad news for the Labor Party, and while it might also be bad news for the Liberal / National Party coalition, it will be  good news for Independents who campaign to fix the issue.

Whistleblowers are early warning systems that help protect democracies from widespread corruption the same as the canaries were early warning systems in coal mines.

I remember Anthony Albanese once saying that a lot of people underestimate him, well on this issue at least, Mr Albanese has over estimated his own ability to sell Australians the great lie that he cares about whistleblowers.

David McBride was sentenced on Tuesday (14/5/24) to 5 years and 8 months jail with a non parole period of 2 years and 3 months.

If McBride doesn’t receive a reduced sentence on appeal, he will be in jail during the campaigning for the next federal election which is due no later than September 2025. That will mean all federal politicians will be asked about David McBride and what they will be doing to protect whistleblowers and the Labor Party and the Liberal / National Party coalition will have to tell lies that no one will believe given their recent lies and failed action on the issue.

David McBride’s YouTube account published the below video today (15/5/24): (Prisoners do not have access to the internet so he either scheduled it to publish before he went to jail or someone published it for him)

I published the below video on the 7th of May titled “Will Prime Minister Anthony Albanese jail war crimes whistleblower David McBride? Sentencing 14/5/24” which is worth watching for the background to the matter:

David McBride’s jailing – The positives

Whenever a whistleblower is persecuted it helps highlight the corruption behind the persecution and in this case the corruption is by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the federal government.

Albanese broke his election promise in 2022 and gave Australia a fake National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) with secret hearings.

Whistleblower protection laws that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor party promised to introduce during the 2022 election campaign have gone nowhere and won’t be introduced before the next federal election, if ever.

David McBride being jailed helps to highlight and focus the publics attention on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s and the government’s election lies regarding the NACC and whistleblower protection laws.

Going to jail for what you believe in is just rolling with the punch so you can get back up to continue the fight. And I have no doubt that David will continue his battle when he gets out whether he wins his appeal or not.

Labor Party trolls on social media trying to spin it

It’s time for Labor Party Trolls on social media to stop blaming the Liberal Party for David McBride’s jailing because no one is buying it and that is one of the reasons that the Liberals were voted out of power.

If the Labor federal government had used their power to drop the charges against David McBride, like they did for Bernard Collaery, then McBride would not be in jail. And if the Labor federal government had introduced whistleblower protection laws like they promised then David McBride would not be in jail.

Labor Party trolls try to use the argument that there is a “Separation of powers: Parliament, Executive and Judiciary” but they conveniently forget that it is the Commonwealth government who prosecuted David McBride.

The fact that the Labor Party have their trolls on social media trying to spin the issue and blame the Liberals shows that Labor know they have a problem.

The reason Labor have this problem is because the Labor Party dislike whistleblowers just as much as the Liberal Party and National Party do. And voters should be asking why they hate whistleblowers so much. What have they got to hide?

Fun fact – NSW ICAC sent Shane Dowling (me) a Dear John letter 5 minutes after David McBride’s jailing

In October 2023 I sent an email to the NSW Premier Chris Minns and the NSW Attorney-General Mr Michael Daley asking them to quash the arrest warrant issued against me on the 3rd of September 2021 to serve 10 months jail in NSW for contempt of court.

Their response was to send me an email on the 6th of December 2023 advising me they can’t do anything and giving me the contact details for the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) because they handle complaints of corruption against NSW Judicial Officers.

I emailed a complaint to the NSW ICAC on the 8th of March 2024. (Click here to read more)

The NSW ICAC had over 2 months to respond to my email and they responded with a “Dear John” letter, saying they were not going to investigate my complaint, exactly 6 minutes after I Tweeted that David McBride had been jailed.

It seems like the NSW ICAC were trying to send me a message or maybe they were just using the McBride jailing as cover to take out the garbage. I have detailed the time line and facts in the below video:

It will be game on for anti-corruption campaigners and supporters of whistleblowers during the next federal election campaign and we won’t be supporting Labor, the Liberals or the Nationals. But we will be highlighting their lies and corruption during the election campaign and David McBride will be part of that whether he is in jail or out of jail.

  1. Another case of poor judgement by the Albanese Government and possibly another nail in the coffin of the one term Labor Government, though the possibility of a Dutton led LNP government is more horrifying.

  2. A very disappointing result for David McBride. Cannot believe Labor allowed this. Thank you, Shane.

  3. After some soul searching yesterday, I have come to the conclusion that the current federal government has abandoned the word labor. A very sad day indeed. It comes hot on the heels of our Pie Mincer having a secret meeting with spud and knacker the NACC. I wonder if he has spud on speed dial, to keep him in the loop at short notice?

  4. I have been (or was) a dedicated Labor supporter for over 60 years but I will never vote for them again. In future the last spots on my ballot paper will be reserved for the ALP and the Liberals. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the federal government who promised so much but have delivered so little. In addition we have the Victorian and Queensland governments and the less said about them, and in particular – Daniel Andrews, the better.

  5. Sad.
Albo fronted with promises. OK he implemented wage tax reductions which is fine.
However behind the scenes he is Howard / Morrison in disguise. He does not like social media and will do all he can to cancel it. Frightened at how much of his moves will be exposed.
He is a “little man” when support and genuine governing of the country is viewed.

  6. Royal Commissions, Public Advocates, Ombudsman, Attorney General, IBAC, Human Rights Commission – all government organisations are inherently corrupt simply because they “outlive” politicians. Whistleblowers are people directly affected by the corruption and can no longer mitigate or ameliorate the “abuse” of a job or public service they believe in.

  7. Mr. Albanese, before the last federal election we had, told the Australian people that they deserve a better government.

Apparently, his vision of a “better government” involves having zero interest in what his own people is telling him, while bringing back the Coalition’s abandoned policies.

For example, the misinformation/disinformation bill that the Coalition wanted to introduce. There were a lot of submissions opposing this, causing Rowland to withdraw the bill. But then she plans on re-introducing it later in the year, and the Mar Mari incident was the trigger. This bill, which is designed to censor social media and establish a Ministry of Truth, and exempts the MSM. Seems like the government is too thick to realize that Ch7 made the false claim that one Benjamin Cohen was the one slaughtering women at Bondi Junction.

As for McBride, the government should be condemned for handing down the budget on the same day as his sentencing. The only way we can get rid of the 2 major parties is to vote more Independents/Green members in.

But wait… both of them want to put a stop to that. It will be similar to what happens in America, and then some. Only way, then, is cross out your ballot paper and write “These parties are unsuitable” (or “These candidates are unsuitable”, if voting below the line.) If everybody did that, then election day would be interesting.

  8. “It will be game on for anti-corruption campaigners and supporters of whistleblowers during the next federal election campaign and we won’t be supporting Labor, the Liberals or the Nationals. But we will be highlighting their lies and corruption during the election campaign and David McBride will be part of that whether he is in jail or out of jail.”

Until the House of Reps GERRYMANDER of preferential voting (which is designed to ensure one of only two parties LNC or Labor retain power always) is changed to support optional/preferential voting Australians will always be stuck with these CORRUPT TWO PARTIES ALWAYS IN POWER!

  9. History could well remember Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, as the Fake Prime Minister, together with a few other well deserved derogatory appellations.

  10. While they are much better than the previous government (who wouldn’t be?) I feel Albanese has, with no excuse, let us down on two major promises – whistleblower protection (I can’t for the life of me see why he did it in this case) and an anti corruption commission “with teeth”. Has anyone been investigated and prosecuted yet? There is so much obvious low hanging fruit to be had if they were sincere, but they did the dodgy with Dutton when it wasn’t needed to pass the bill, and that says a bit about them. The next election will come without a single LNP minister prosecuted, despite watergate, Sydney airport land, detention centre contracts etc.

  11. Very disappointed in all Fed/State/Local governments of the day, appears like staying in power is the only thing they care about.

  12. Typical boomer always sellouts. Still wondering where they get all these funds for ukraine’s war while telling the Australian pulbic they should tighten their own belts.

  13. Does anybody know where David McBride will be “residing”?
I for one would like to write to him.

That which has occurred this week in AUSTRALIA, has totally SEARED my moral compass.

Australia over the last few decades, has fast become an unrecognisable regime in many respects but more so in the manner that certain individuals and community groups are treated, processed, charged and prosecuted in the name of the regime and that “regimes gang” of political, police, corporate, MSM publishers and judicial counterpart lobbyists.

However, looking in from the outside, it would appear that those individuals and groups that are part of “the gang” seemingly get away with all manner of civil, legislative and criminal offences, when they are caught with their “hand in the till” or disorderly misconduct.

    It saddens me greatly!

Please, does anybody know of David McBride’s whereabouts or address?
    Thank You
