ABC journalist Louise Milligan has been silenced, possibly for life, by ABC management from talking about why the ABC shafted Amber Harrison who has been “silenced for life” by billionaire Kerry Stokes from talking about corruption at Channel 7 and its parent company Seven West Media (SWM).
I know how Kerry Stokes operates better than most as he spent an estimated $5 to $10 million of Seven’s shareholders money trying to silence me, from reporting Kerry’s and Seven’s crimes and corruption, with SLAPP lawsuits from 2014 to 2022.
If fact, there is a current outstanding arrest warrant in NSW for me to serve 10 months jail after Kerry Stokes ordered Seven Network and SWM to institute contempt of court proceedings against me. (Click here to read more) But that’s another story.
ABC’s 4 Corners broadcast a story, by journalist Louise Milligan, titled “Don’t Speak” on Monday night (12/8/24) about Channel 7 silencing staff and then once the ABC started promoting the show, with Amber Harrison in the promotional video, Louise Milligan was silenced from mentioning Amber Harrison in the show.
It raises numerous questions with some being:
- Has Louise Milligan helped the situation by shining a light on how staff are silenced at Seven or made the problem worse by being silenced herself?
- Who silenced Louise Milligan? Was it ABC Chairman Kim Williams?
- Why did the ABC promote News Corp propagandist Samantha Maiden in the show given her history? Maiden was forced to resign from Sky News because of her conduct in the workplace. Maiden attacked rape survivor Brittany Higgins in a scandalous article based on lies which she was forced to take down from the internet under the threat of contempt charges. Maiden is also due to give evidence on behalf of Senator Linda Reynolds in her defamation case against Brittany Higgins in the next week or so.
- Louise Milligan’s story made no mention of the fact that the ABC sacked journalist Antoinette Lattouf and are spending $100,000’s on legal fees because the ABC wanted to silence her. Why didn’t Four Corners mention Antoinette Lattouf’s silencing? The ABC can’t say it’s because it’s before the courts because so is the Bruce Lehrmann and Ben Roberts-Smith defamation appeals and they were both mentioned.
- Louise Milligan mentioned harassment allegations at Seven, Nine and the ABC but made no mention of all the harassment allegations at News Corp. Why?

Lets look at some facts:
Fact 1: The ABC Started running a promo on Twitter and elsewhere last Thursday (8/8/24) for Monday’s show (12/8/24) titled “Don’t Speak” about the work culture ate Channel 7. It’s subtitle is: “Allegations of sexism, exploitation and extreme bullying at the network are rife”
The shows transcript starts off: Channel Seven bills itself as a family network, but a Four Corners investigation finds it to be a “second chance club” for senior men, described as a “degrading, soul-crushing” workplace.
Allegations of sexism, exploitation and extreme bullying at the network are rife and staff have been left hospitalised. In some extreme cases, they are unable to work or been suicidal.
Many staff have made legal claims against the network and many past staff have been gagged with non-disclosure agreements.
Fact 2: Amber Harrison, who was silenced by Channel 7 after an affair with CEO Tim Worner and after she went public with the drug and financial fraud culture at Seven, was part of the promo video on Thursday as she had done an interview with Louise Milligan for the show.
But by Saturday Amber Harrison had been cut from the promo video with reports to that effect in some media.
I published a slightly edited version of the promo video with Amber Harrison back in on Twitter as per below: (Click here to see on Twitter)
Fact 3: On Monday’s show Amber Harrison had been totally cut from the show. But the ABC did not mention why at the end of the show which I thought they would have given they had initially used Amber Harrison as part of their promotional video.
Fact 4: Mumbrella interviewed Louise Milligan on Tuesday (13/8/24) and published an article at 10.30am.
In the interview Louise Milligan talks about the history of Seven and Amber Harrison in general but when asked by the journalist, “I noticed Amber Harrison was in the promo and wasn’t in the finished show. Was that for legal reasons?” Louise Milligan responds, “I can’t talk about Amber Harrison.” (Click here to read the article)
Fact 5: Amber Harrison did an interview with the SMH on Tuesday (13/8/24) which was published at 3.51pm which says:
A last-minute omission of a key interview from the ABC’s Four Corners investigation into the workplace culture at the Seven Network undermined the purpose of the program, says former company executive assistant Amber Harrison, whose part in the program failed to go to air.
Harrison was flown from Melbourne to Sydney by the ABC for a three-hour on-camera interview with the program’s lead reporter, Louise Milligan, for the investigation titled “Don’t Speak”.
Harrison is the former executive assistant at Seven who went public over her affair with the company’s former chief executive, Tim Worner, and is subject to an injunction taken out by the company that prevents her from speaking about her experience.
Despite the injunction, Harrison said her Four Corners interview was significant and within the bounds of the strict orders, and that the omission spoke directly to the tactic used by Seven to silence former employees.
“It’s curious that after being featured in the promo, my interview was pulled without explanation. This omission left a significant story untold, especially considering the hype surrounding the show and the high calibre of journalism Louise Milligan is known for,” Harrison said.
“The fact that my interview, which could have underscored the very point of Don’t Speak, was excluded is intriguing, especially when the decision not to include it wasn’t explained on the program. There’s a much bigger narrative here that wasn’t shared.”
Promotional material was published on Thursday ahead of the Four Corners episode on Monday night. The material included footage of the Harrison interview but after a legal notice issued to the ABC by Seven via legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills, the video was removed.
When the program aired, it made no mention of Harrison or Worner, or why the promotional materials that had helped build anticipation for the episode had been removed. (Click here to read the article)
Fact 6: Amber Harrison also did an interview with The Australian and said:
Harrison said she conducted a three-hour interview, telling The Australian “I knew my legal [boundaries] and I stayed within those.”
“If I was cut because Seven made legal threats to the ABC after I appeared in the promo, I feel that I was used as ‘clickbait’.
“I don’t think they had anyone else in the Four Corners program who would have generated publicity like me.
“I would have expected to have been included. It’s weird that a Four Corners episode called Don’t Speak – which is obviously what I can’t do – didn’t include any reference to me after using me in the promo.
“I had no idea I was going to be cut and I wasn’t told by Louise that I was to be dropped.”
She told The Australian: “I think anyone who speaks out about Channel 7 is very brave.
“But I think the program would’ve held a bit more weight if they included someone like me who was really taken down by Seven.” (Click here to read more)
Fact 7: Channel 7, on the orders of Kerry Stokes, threatened Amber Harrison with legal action on Wednesday morning (14/8/24). The SMH reported:
Seven West Media has threatened to take Amber Harrison to court for alleged breaches of an injunction over comments she made about her interview being omitted from a Four Corners investigation into the media company.
This masthead understands a legal letter threatening contempt proceedings was issued to Harrison, a former executive assistant at Seven, on Wednesday morning as the company revealed a 69 per cent slump in full-year profits and flagged huge cost cuts to counter an advertising downturn.
On Tuesday, Harrison said an omission of a three-hour interview she conducted with the ABC’s Louise Milligan left a significant story untold after the flagship investigations program cut the footage at the eleventh hour on Monday night.
Harrison is subject to an injunction taken out by Seven that prevents her from speaking about her experience at the network. (Click here to read more)
The ABC’s 4 Corners “Don’t Speak” show was of some value, but it only really showed the low hanging fruit.
Journalist Louise Milligan said during the show that they couldn’t run a lot of stories because of legal action, non-disclosure agreements (NDA’s) and because people were too scared etc, but there were still many stories of abuse, corruption and silencing at Channel 7 that Four Corners could have investigated and shown but they refused to do so.
I wonder if ABC Chairman Kim Williams, Louise Milligan or anyone at the ABC will answer the questions I have raised above or have they all been silenced.

Congratulation to Louise Milligan on her professional reporting on 7 West scandal’s as well as her previous reporting on the Catholic Church, Ms. Milligan is one of the few remaining professional journalists left in Australia, who along with KCA are one of the few impartial media left who can be relied on for truthful reporting. It was often said that when the replacement to run the ABC having come from Newscorp would most probably continue to lower ABCs standards. The past journalists of greatness, Barry Cassidy, Kerry O’brien Emma Alberche etc have certainly not been replaced by such professional journalists but rather Murdoch cheque book type hacks which is of great disappointment.
Toby, how audacious! Wish I had said that.
Well said!!
KCA thanks for the additional insight into the media censorship of stories about media censorship. The ABC’s decline continues as its Charter is mocked and ignored. Kim Williams is leading this decline. His recent words about the importance of ABC quality and standards are demonstrably hypocritical. Shame on him and his cronies for their weak lack of integrity. Shame…
How can 7 West Media continue to flout the Australia’s Public Disclosure Act 2010?
I allege that the legal professionals aiding 7 West Media would be guilty of flouting the above Disclosure Act.
No Australian public institution or any corporation (nor private individual person, can legitimately claim an exemption or a privilege, or even be it an immunity, to the carriage of each & every legislated law and or regulation currently in force, against the commission of a criminal action or be it a corrupt criminal action allegedly engaged in by Kerry Stokes and or his son, Ryan Stokes.
The allegations against the directors or senior management appointees of 7 West Media of flouting or ignoring, any and all legal obligation claimed against the vile person[s] that control 7 West Media.
Time for licences to operate for Channel Seven to be withdrawn.
Well … what a disturbing turn of events. It seems ABC journalist Louise Milligan has been effectively silenced by ABC management, preventing her from discussing why the ABC decided to cut Amber Harrison from “Don’t Speak.” This has instead raised significant concerns about the integrity and independence of the ABC itself. This situation eerily mirrors the very issues of censorship and suppression that the episode sought to highlight.
The circumstances surrounding this decision are not just troubling but also raise several further questions:
1. Has Louise Milligan’s own silencing inadvertently exacerbated the very problem of censorship that she aimed to expose at Seven?
2. Who exactly ordered Milligan to refrain from mentioning Amber Harrison, a key figure in the narrative? Was it the ABC’s Chairman, Kim Williams?
3. Why did the ABC feature News Corp journalist Samantha Maiden, given her controversial history, while omitting more pertinent stories like that of Antoinette Lattouf, who has also been silenced by the ABC?
4. How can the ABC justify mentioning ongoing legal cases such as those involving Bruce Lehrmann and Ben Roberts-Smith, yet exclude other significant harassment allegations and silencing tactics at News Corp?
The credibility of the ABC and its integrity in journalism, is in question.
To silence Louise Milligan, a journalist known for her fearless reporting, is not just a disservice to the public but a dangerous precedent for media freedom in Australia.
So, in conclusion, this twist is worthy of its own Four Corners episode, it seems the ABC has taken a masterclass from Channel 7 in the fine art of gagging, proving once and for all that when it comes to silencing voices, they truly don’t discriminate – journalistic integrity be damned.
It appears all Australian mainstream media is controlled by undercover conservative ‘actors’. There must be some undercover rewards for these guys? Or maybe they do it because they need a layer of elites with less mental capacity than the punters?
