Federal opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s chances of winning his own seat at the federal election just took a huge hit with community independent Ellie Smith entering the race for Dutton’s seat of Dickson.
Peter Dutton only won the last election by 3% and he has the most marginal seat in Queensland and any serious competition will make it very hard for Dutton. Ellie Smith already has 200 volunteers which says she will be a serious force come election time which is due no later than May 2025.
Dickson Decides had their launch on Monday 27th of January 2025 and announced Ellie Smith as their candidate.

Growing up in Queensland, my parents worked hard to give my sisters and I a great start in life. They both ran small businesses, Dad in construction and Mum in retail, until she later retrained as a social worker. Ellie Smith has only been in politics a few days and already the Labor Party and Liberal Party trolls are attacking her with lies. That’s a sign they are very worried.
The Labor Party and Liberal Party can’t afford to criticise anyone especially since they have become the UniParty in recent years. And how have the Labor Party gone holding the Liberal Party and National Party politicians accountable for their crimes when they were in power from 2013 until 2022? Yep, the UniParty rules again.

Ellie Smith had 200 volunteers at her launch a few days ago which is a great start and as I say in the above video if she can get 1000 volunteers, she will be a big show to win the election which would have the added bonus of removing Peter Dutton from parliament.
If Ellie Smith can win it will send a message to all politicians that their seats in parliament are not safe so stop lying and deceiving or you will be gone. So, if you live in the seat of Dickson or close by think about supporting her or volunteering to help.
From now until the election, which is due by May 2025, I will try to do more stories on independents and minor parties the same as I have done previously.

If the optimum outcome is unseating Dutton this independent with need to direct preferences. Dutton rolls independent candidates last election with fake hiw to vote cards having independent & green preferences to him (lnp) & one nation.
It’s very evident that the LNP are note only corrupted but dishonest in electoral rules.

Voters of Dickson…stand by for dirty tactics from both Labor and LNP. Beyond me how the electors of Dickson keep returning this same federal member. Last federal election the incumbent federal members used tactics like.
‘ these boat people will take your seat on the train’
‘ these boat people will take up your hospital bed’
Then came the personal attacks on the disability of the other candidate.
Poor reflection on Australia that these gutter type tactics are used and electors believe this tripe..
I always blame the voters. Low quality voters always vote for low quality politicians. Australia needs to raise its standards. Urgently.
The moment anyone attempts to spread cringe worthy disinformation like, “Libs and Labor are the same”, most political observers just switch off. There is no comparison to the LNP unpredictable extremist factions and a progressive united Labor party, period! Anyone that uses this, are just playing politics for their own base self interests. I will be voting for Ali France, because she is in the only party that can gain the 76 plus seats as they have now and have that deserved mandate to Govern for all Australians. Right now we have 24 Liberals, 20 QLD LNP and 9 Nationals along with the 4 Greens playing politics obstructing everything and anything Labor does to alleviate the economic catastrophe the LNP left the country in 2022, while a collection of known and unknown Independents are basically just spectators. Charmers has accomplished outstanding results considering the challenges and obstructions and should be congratulated for his and Labor efforts. Why the rest of you cannot see that is just bloody absurd!
And Labor set up a fake National Anti-Corruption Commission in collusion with the Liberal / National Parties which allows the Liberal / National Parties to get away with the crimes they committed during, as you say, “the economic catastrophe the LNP left the country in 2022”. Hence the UniParty.

Yes, I was very active in one party but resigned 30 years ago in protest at the deterioration in what was the better of the rwo parties. My Father was involved in that same party for all his adult life, but i knew he would have agreed wuth my actions.

I’m all for independents and surprised at Australians who haven’t seen the corruption and lies from both of the major parties over the many years of Australia’s decline of proper governance. I read Ms. Smith’s policies which I found well intended but with little explanation of how she means to change, for instance. “Living Better”. Supporting permanent energy relief is great but what caused this, how can electricity prices be reduced and stable, and what does working with the government to develop smarter housing solutions mean? Why have our main retailers been allowed to continue to make profits at the expense of Australians, has the ACCC been the watchdog throughout our cost of living crisis? Perhaps this will become clearer once she is elected but as we saw with our current Prime Minister all his policies became clearer after he was elected which turned out to be lies, misinformation and disinformation. Voters need clarity and not generalisations. The government destroys natural forests and disrupts and kills wildlife under the flag of renewables to reduce CO2 which our bush already does. Not small areas are cleared but thousands of acres without any proven knowledge of the benefits of long-term wind and solar farms. Like many government agendas, it always comes down to the dollar and if the government can show they are doing something and making money from unseen deals then the consequences will be dealt with later and in most cases when it is too late and always at the expense and detriment of the Australian taxpayer.
Ellie Smith is not one of the establishment-captured duopoly. That’s all we need to know.
Our representatives need our interests at heart. Ellie seems to fit the bill.

At this stage in Australia, a great deal of lying is evidenced, many misleading ministerial statements are finding their way into our national media news broadcasts.
Our government appear to be ignoring the gradual build up of the American Military presence in our sovereign nation.
Defence minister, Richard Marles, is well aware of the US military influence, along with their interfering in our nation’s arms and weapons procurements agency.
Better to eject the US from our nations weapon procurements agency.
This would save a great many billions of our taxpayer dollars that can be re-routed to deal with our own national concerns.
Blind Freddie knows that the UniParty is running this country into the ground and we became a global laughing stock because of it. The 2022 election proved that voters are waking up and electing more independents, with people that actually care about the country. That’s why Albanese wants to put a stop to that with their electoral donation reforms, in an effort to rig the elections in their favour and keeping new competitors out.
