Liberal Party appoints Rupert Murdoch’s $500,000 man, former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, as President

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is paid $500,000 per year as a Director of Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Corporation, has been elected national President of the Liberal Party.

At a time when the Liberal Party badly needs to be reaching out to younger generations, they have gone for someone who doesn’t relate well to many, if any, generations given he lost his seat to independent Zali Steggall in 2019.

For a former Prime Minister, 2013 to 2015, to lose to an independent says he is badly out of touch with voters and is the last person who should have a leadership role in a political party fighting for its future.

What makes Tony Abbott’s Presidency of the Liberal Party even worse is that he will be seen as nothing more than a puppet for Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch, who are despised nationally, especially among younger voters.

Now days the billionaires like Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch don’t even try to hide the fact that politicians are bought and paid for, they just put them directly on their payroll.

Tony Abbott as Liberal Party President would make it a certainty that there will be a split and fragmentation of the Liberal Party in the near future and my guess is it will happen before the 2028 federal election.

But to be fair, whether Tony Abbott was Liberal Party President or not, the Liberal Party fragmenting was always likely, it is just that under Abbott’s leadership it became a certainty.

Kevin Rudd and the Murdochs

As regular readers know, I have been writing regularly about former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his connection to Jeffery Epstein, and Rudd sent frivolous and vexatious defamation legal threats to Google and YouTube last year and early this year to have my articles blocked in Australia.

But Rudd stopped doing that about the same time he stopped being Australia’s Ambassador to the US in March 2026, and my last 4 or so videos on Epstein, which also feature Rudd, haven’t been blocked.

But then all of a sudden, Rudd has had a video blocked by YouTube that I published about Rudd and Murdoch as per below.

I received an email from YouTube, with the below message, on Friday (29/5/26) letting me know they had blocked my video, for Australian viewers, titled “Hypocrisy Exposed – Kevin Rudd joins Rupert Murdoch’s payroll” that I published on the 18th of May, 2026.

Email notification from YouTube regarding a defamation complaint about a video titled 'Hypocrisy Exposed - Kevin Rudd joins Rupert Murdoch's payroll', stating it has been blocked in Australia.

The video is below for overseas viewers, or you can read the article version by clicking here.

So, it seems Kevin Rudd is now more concerned about being outed for being on Rupert Murdoch’s payroll than he is being associated with paedophile Jeffery Epstein.

And why did it take YouTube from the 18th of May until the 29th of May, 11 days, to block the video? Maybe Rudd was late in making a complaint, who knows.

Are Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch collecting former Prime Ministers?

The Murdochs now have 2 former Prime Ministers, one Labor and one Liberal, in their hip pockets, which helps when they want political favours.

While the Murdoch media doesn’t have anywhere near the political influence it once did on elections, it still has the power to intimidate politicians.

But that is to the politician’s and political parties downfall, as being associated with the Murdochs is now extremely damaging for them and their reputations, which helps explain why Rudd made a frivolous defamation complaint about my video linking him to the Murdochs.

This website and the Kangaroo Court of Australia YouTube channel seem to be living rent free inside Kevin Rudd’s head. But he won’t send his frivolous legal threats directly to me which I take as a sign I’m on the right track with my articles and videos.

Admin: Twenty-seven weeks ago, I launched a campaign with a simple goal: find 200 new monthly supporters so I can keep doing this work as a fully independent journalist, running this website and the YouTube channel without corporate backing or paywalls.

Since then, 175 wonderful people have stepped up and become monthly supporters. That’s huge, thank you!

We’re now at 25 to go.

If you’ve been enjoying the work and aren’t yet supporting monthly, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider joining them. Here’s the situation:

Like most independent journalists, I’m basically a one-person small business. Right now, a lot of us are feeling the squeeze, just like many small businesses and households are. To stay afloat and keep bringing you the reporting I do, I need roughly 200 more people chipping in whatever they can comfortably afford each month.

Anything from $3 to $100 (or whatever works for your budget) makes a real difference. There’s no lock-in, you can cancel or adjust anytime.

If that feels doable for you right now, you can see all the options on the donations page by clicking here.

Your support, whether it’s a monthly donation, a one-time donation, or just sharing the work, is what keeps independent voices like this one alive.

Please use Facebook, “X”, email and the other buttons below and help promote this article.

Kangaroo Court of Australia is independent media and is 100% crowdfunded by readers like yourself so please support on the links below. Click on the PayPal button below to donate or for other donation options click here to go to the Donations page.

  1. What the Libs need to concentrate on us ay branch level.
They need to concentrate is to get good informed branches people who have the passion and empathy for Australia.
    In the Bob Hawke mantra:
    Think globally
    Act locally
    Australia first

  2. No surprise here. Recall Tony Abbot was a Rhodes Scholar, that means he was trained in the evil ways of Cecil Rhodes. Murdoch no doubt soon found that the way to the top of any major media empire (and most others) is to either become a Zionist, or obey their commands. I’m sure most leading members of our government and leaders of most large Australian corporations fall into this category.
