Anthony Albanese attacks Grace Tame in support of Lachlan Murdoch

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attacked Grace Tame, by calling her “difficult”, while on stage at a News Corp sponsored function which suggests that it was done in support of News Corp heir Lachlan Murdoch and his long running feud with Tame.

Albanese has since back-peddled and apologised to Grace Tame, but his apology doesn’t stack-up when you look at all the facts.

What does stack-up is that Prime Minster Anthony Albanese was playing to his News Corp audience and keeping them happy by attacking Grace Tame, but when it backfired badly on social media, and when Tame responded, Albanese quickly came up with a lame excuse.

Below are several short videos and pictures that tell the story.

And the real story is we have a weak Prime Minister who will grovel to the Murdochs for perceived political benefit and Australia should be proud to have a young lady like Grace Tame who will fearlessly take on anyone to set justice right.

Background to the Liberal’s and Murdoch’s attacks on Grace Tame

Grace Tame won the 2021 Australian of the Year award for her advocacy for survivors of sexual assault and her work in campaigning to change laws that previously prevented survivors from speaking out about their experiences. Grace Tame is also a survivor who was groomed and raped by her 58-year-old maths teacher, who was found guilty and jailed for his crimes. (Click here to read more)

The next year at the 2022 Australian of the Year awards Grace Tame arrived and was met by the then Prime Minister Scott Morrison. Grace Tame was no fan of Morrison and refused to smile in front of media while meeting Morrison.

The 2022 Australian of the Year awards were in January which was only a few months before the May 2022 Federal Election and Murdoch’s News Corp media and Liberal Party supporters attacked Grace Tame relentlessly.

In February 2022 Scott Morrison had his wife Jenny attack Grace Tame on 60 minutes trying to boost support before the election, as per the below video, which is about as grubby as it gets. (Click here for the full 60 Minutes interview with Scott Morrison)

In January 2025, at morning tea for the 2025 Australian of the Year Award nominees, Grace Tame wore a “Fuck Murdoch” t-shirt as per the below picture of Grace Tame meeting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and his then fiancé, and now wife Jodie. The t-shirt received widespread media coverage and obviously embarrassed the Murdochs.

Background to latest scandal

At the Sydney March on the 9th of February 2026 Grace Tame was, “criticised by federal and state MPs for leading chants of “globalise the intifada” at a rally against the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog.”

“Ms Tame accused Australia of being “a so-called democracy that punishes peaceful protesters like us but welcomes a war criminal with open arms”, before chanting “from Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the intifada”.” (Click here to read more)

News Corp, various politicians and Zionist Jews have attacked Grace Tame relentlessly since then.

Grace Tame posted the below video, on the 10th of February 2026, in response to the attacks against her. (Click here to see the below video on Grace Tame’s Instagram page)

News Corp reported (28/2/26):

Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame is unlikely to face charges after chanting “globalise the Intifada” at a pro-Palestine rally, with NSW’s top cop admitting he had not watched the speech.

The phrase is linked to two popular uprisings in the Occupied Palestinian Territories – but is regarded by swathes of the Jewish community as a call to violence.

It has been criminalised in recent weeks in Queensland, with a NSW parliament probe recommending the Labor government do the same.

However, under current laws, the term had been “reviewed on a number of occasions” and not found to meet the criteria of inciting racial hatred, NSW Police Commissioner. (Click here to read more)

Will the people who attacked Grace Tame for saying “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalise the Intifada” now apologise to her?

Prime Minster Albanese’s attack on Grace Tame

In the below video Anthony Albanese calls Grace Tame “difficult” as the Future Victoria Summit hosted by News Corp’s the Herald Sun in Melbourne on Wednesday the 25th of February 2026.

Interviewer Sam Weir (Herald Sun editor) asked Albanese for one-word descriptions of various people. When Grace Tame’s name came up, he responded “difficult” after a pause. The clip went viral, sparking backlash, with Tame calling it “misogynist’s code” for a non-compliant woman.

Albanese apologized the next day (26/2/26) which is the second part of the below video:

But when Albanese apologies he mentions what Grace Tame said at the Sydney rally in February which should have no relevance to the apology unless of course it was relevant to Albanese calling Grace Tame “difficult”. That’s also Albanese dog whistling to, and/or validating, the Murdochs, News Corp and Zionist Jews who are attacking Grace Tame.

Grace Tame’s response to Anthony Albanese

Grace Tame posted the below 2 screenshots on Instagram:

Comment on a social media post expressing criticism towards a perceived cowardice, referencing the Israeli defence minister's remarks.

The SMH also reported (26/2/26): “Both men, when called out for their behaviour towards me, have used ‘she’s had a difficult life’ as a condescending justification. Get some new material boys,” she wrote on her Instagram page.

Summary

Anthony Albanese openly grovels to Lachlan Murdoch and his News Corp which is strange as it doesn’t do him much good.

That relationship is relevant because it shows that Albanese would have been aware of News Corp’s attacks on Grace Tame, at the direction of Lachlan Murdoch, when he labelled Grace Tame “difficult” at the News Corp event on Wednesday.

Two other examples of the Albo / Lachlan Murdoch bromance are, Albanese went to the 60th anniversary of The Australian birthday event in 2024 which is owned by Murdoch’s News Corp and Albanese even wrote an opinion piece titled “The Australian 60th anniversary essay: the decisive decade.”

On Friday the 20th of February 2026 the AFR reported,

“Sky News has launched a rebrand with a new name and logo at an event attended by media stars, business elite and political leaders including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.” (Click here to read more)

Murdoch’s Sky News broadcast hate speech all day every day yet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who has made public statements telling the public to tone down the rhetoric, supports Murdoch’s Sky News lies.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese openly supports the Murdochs and their lies and he was at a Murdoch event when he called Grace Tame “difficult”, after pausing to think about it, knowing full well they would potentially use it against Grace Tame.

And when Albanese did apologise, he finishes the apology by dog whistling to the Murdochs and other Grace Tame haters.

There is no love lost between the Murdochs and Grace Tame and for Albanese to take the Murdoch’s side makes him a national disgrace.

  1. It’s time for Albanese to go. To have a PM so openly having this tit for tat with Grace Tame is unbecoming to his role. He has proven, repeatedly, that he’s a remarkable weakling; now its time for a Labor reset with a person of strength, preferably a decent strong woman to stand up to Taylor and Hanson. Albanese is a disaster.

    • I believe that a strong woman, with a high ethical balance, would be a wise choice to replace Albanese. A principled female against both Taylor and Hanson would be a shrewd decision, especially one who is a good orator. I believe that Plibersek may fit that role. Albanese has squashed her potential for a reason!

      • Plibersek has repeatedly proven that she’s a good little girl who does as she’s told and/or what is self serving as far as her post-political career. Penny Wong is the same, more the latter whose stance on issues swings any way the wind blows and what will shore term benefit her trajectory. I think they’re all full of it. That is because they are all career politicians and at that point you immediately stop considering civic issues because it no longer matters to you personally. None of them can recall they are actually public servants, not royalty.

  2. Yes, it is time for Albanese to go, but not because he called Grace Tame “difficult” which is hardly an “attack”. He needs to go because he is weak, self-serving, condescending, divisive and not that bright. If he hadn’t spent almost his entire working life in government he might have a clue how the real world works. And yes he needs to be replaced with a strong, intelligent, moral person. Gender is irrelevant.

    • You are absolutely correct in your assessment of Each Way Albo. Unfortunately the msm only criticise him on trivial grounds rather than on the important & valid grounds that you have highlighted.

  3. Albanese: the man doctors describe as a ‘miracle’ for being able to stand up without a spine (stolen from The Chaser). His spinelessness more recently on display with his unwavering support for the unprovoked US/Israeli attack on Iran. And why Labor politicians have never learned that there’s absolutely no point in trying to suck up to the Murdoch enterprises, totally eludes me.

  4. ‘Attack’ is taking his gaff too far.
While I agree it was a poor choice of words and one that is so loaded in the context of women who speak out: I don’t believe Albanese meant any malice. I’d describe it more as a blunder without consideration, which is difficult’ when asked to use one word in response to rapid fire questions.
What I can’t understand is why he would put himself in the ridiculous situation to begin with Sky/Murdoch press.

    • Your comment focuses on Albanese and what he said without taking into account what Albanese said was also “Albanese dog whistling to, and/or validating, the Murdochs, News Corp and Zionist Jews who are attacking Grace Tame.”

  5. I don’t believe the PM would intentionally set out to defame Ms Tame. He is guilty of allowing himself to be set up yet again by placing himself in situations a Prime Minister should not be in.

    • Keep labeling downtrodden women as ‘angry’ and ‘bitter’ because then you can blame them for their perceived ‘behavioral issues’ (read, not being performative and subservient to you) instead of your own failures. Failure to treat women with equality as they deserve, failure to stop women and children from being assaulted….the list goes on. Your commentary is just a tired mire of the usual low key victim blamiing deployed to ‘put ’em back in their place’ when any woman speaks up or speaks out because they have to. Would you feel angry in some respect if the same thing happened to you as happened to Grace Tame? But you never have thought about it, because you’ve never had to. Do you think if something like that happens to you the feelings EVER go away? No matter what actions you take? NO THEY DON’T. You don’t even have guts to say “It was her own fault.” Because let’s face it that’s what you really mean. Your entire attitude reeks of underlining the usual misogynist dismissive tripe.

    • Anthony Albanese let himself get used for a gotcha answer & all the Australian press grabbed it with glee. If this is indicative of the trouble he’s in, he’s in no trouble at all.

  6. My life experience from personal and observation of others is you get labelled ‘difficult’ when you don’t give other people the things they know they’re not entitled to from you, immediately, and without resistance, when they demand it. This is always about power but mostly manifests in sex, money, time and more nebulously generally subservient behaviour which makes the perpetrator of the control tactics feel ‘superior.’ Tame is not entitled to ‘perform’ for a rich white powerful upper class man who is quickly turning into a low key little Hitler.

  7. Great to see a range of opinions in the commentary to this article! The mark of sound, mature journalism.

  8. Anthony Albanese has completely lost his moral compass. While attacking Grace Tame for speaking out, he openly panders to the USA and Israel, endorsing policies and military actions that have caused immense civilian suffering – including reports of attacks on schools in Iran that killed many schoolgirls and children – nearly 200 yet acts as if this makes everything “right.”

THIS IS NOT LEADERSHIP; IT IS A FAILURE OF CONSCIENCE.

He supports defence deals with Indonesia despite ongoing reports of serious human rights abuses in West Papua, prioritising political convenience and foreign interests over Australian values. Albanese attacks a courageous Australian who stands up for justice while remaining silent or supportive when powerful allies commit atrocities.

His repeated appearances at Murdoch events and alignment with media interests show a troubling willingness to put loyalty to foreign powers and corporate influence above the people he is supposed to serve.

Anthony Albanese, it’s time to look in the mirror: your actions show clearly – you do not speak for me.

Australians deserve a leader who defends human rights, respects principled voices, and acts with integrity – not one who applauds injustice abroad while undermining courage at home.

  9. I watched video of him answering the question. He knew full well what he was doing when he answered “Difficult.”
