Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his government are openly lying and deceiving the public in relation to the Iran war and the Australian government’s support of the war which will Albanese’s John Howard moment.
I say the government lies about the Iran war will be Albanese’s “John Howard moment” because former Prime Minister John Howard was exposed lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction to justify Australia’s involvement in the Iraq war in 2003.
As the saying goes, “the first casualty of war is the truth”, and many people are lying about the Iran war.
The below video is Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong ducking and weaving about the legality of the war.
The Australian government supports the US / Israel war against Iran, yet Penny Wong can’t say what the legal basis for the war is.

If Albanese, Wong, Marles and the government don’t know what the legal basis is, and can’t tell the public what it is, they should not be supporting the war.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims Iran would have had nuclear weapons in a matter of months, but President Donald Trump said last year they had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program. Benjamin Netanyahu has been saying that about Iran for over 30 years.
Can the US and Israel win a war against Iran?
The Afghanistan war ran from 2001 until 2021 with the original goal being regime change, to get rid of the Taliban leadership, and to destroy the Al-Qaeda terrorists hiding in Afghanistan.
The U.S. and allies spent over $2 trillion, with more than 2,400 American lives lost and tens of thousands wounded, and 41 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel were killed and over 260 Australians were wounded.
Yet the Taliban regained control in August 2021 as U.S. forces withdrew.
The bottom line is that the 20-year Afghanistan war was a total failure. So, why would the Iran war be any different?
If anyone says they support the war in Iran, ask them what the end result will be? And they won’t be able to answer.
And secondly, ask them if the result will be better than Afghanistan? Again, they won’t be able to answer.
And the Iraq war which ran from 2003 to 2011 ended with a government in Iraq that is riddled with corruption and hundreds of thousands of dead. Is that the US / Israeli plan for Iran?
For those who don’t know, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan are next to each other, as per the below map, and all three wars involve the US as the invader.
It’s ridiculous, the recent history of the Afghanistan war and Iraq war says whatever the result in Iran it won’t be good for anyone and Australia should not be supporting it.
And then of course, there is the fact that the war is illegal which is why Penny Wong was ducking and weaving in the above video.
Just Like John Howard has not been able to live down his Iraq war lies of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction to justify Australia’s involvement in the war, Anthony Albanese won’t be able to live down his Iran war lies in support of the US’s and Israel’s illegal war against Iran.
Given Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been in politics since 1996 and was in parliament when both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars started and finished you would think he would know better than supporting the Iran war.

Wong says that we are not party to the intel as to the legal (sic) basis for the latest USA/Israel attack on Iran even though we are a party to the 5 Eyes agreement on sharing intelligence. Obviously the USA has zero respect for the agreement & expects Australia to go along with the USA at any cost. Our cowardly Govt is absolutely shameless.
BREAKING: Mr Housing Commission has assured the nation that everything is under control, which is extremely comforting because nothing says “strategic wartime clarity” like a press conference that answers absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile, Miss Deeply Concerned 2016–2026 has confirmed she is, in fact, deeply concerned. Sources say she has upgraded her concern to Level 9.5, just below “Gravely Perturbed” but above “Mildly Furrowed Brow.”
When asked what the legal basis for the war is, Miss Deeply Concerned bravely explained that the legal basis is… very legal… and based on legality… which is classified for legal reasons.
Mr Housing Commission then reassured Australians that this will absolutely not become another Afghanistan or Iraq because this time we are using upgraded optimism and premium-grade hope.
Experts confirm that Iran is definitely only “months away” from something. They have been months away since the invention of the fax machine, but this time the months are particularly monthy.
If you question any of this, please understand alliances are important, maps are confusing, and history is merely a suggestion.
Anyway, back to paying $900 a week in rent while geopolitics speed-runs the early 2000s.
Everything is fine. Completely fine.
Just ask Miss Deeply Concerned.
As it was with Iraq and now with Iran, the US went to war (with our willing participation) to stop them from utilising/obtaining weapons of mass destruction/nuclear weapons for the reason that having/obtaining these weapons was against the law. The narrative is that these countries should not, definitely not, be allowed to possess such weapons (as opposed to the other nine countries which do possess them). However, the reasons why they shouldn’t are never made explicit – it’s just assumed to be common sense. Obviously the actual reason is that if these countries did possess nuclear weapons it would make it more difficult, if not impossible, for Israel to continue its land grab for the Greater Israel Project and for the US to maintain and expand its control over Middle Eastern oil. The last time the West got into a flap about a country obtaining nuclear weapons they shouldn’t be allowed to have was with North Korea. However, since then, the sky has yet to fall in. In the meantime, the killing will go on without any troubling hesitations from our obsequious, knee-bending politicians.

I thought there was a short lived war just recently to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons? Dunno…must have dreamed it.
Scott Ritter, Larry Johnson and Douglas McGregor have all been studying the defense missile resources of US and its allies. Their verdict: they will run out of defensive intercept missiles anywhere from 3-4 weeks. Iran will then have a free hand against Israel and US middle east bases. The US has run a full range of lies and propaganda and Australia has uncritically accepted this garbage. The virulence with which Australian politicians have attacked the Iranian people and nation is an absolute disgrace.
