Corrupt judge Walter Sofronoff is now under investigation by the Queensland and ACT governments

Former Queensland judge Walter Sofronoff, who is currently under investigation by the ACT Government for criminal offences, is now also under investigation by the Queensland government.

We’ll have a look at the ACT government matter first and where it’s at and then look at the new Queensland inquiry which will also investigate Walter Sofronoff’s handiwork.

ACT criminal offices by Walter Sofronoff

The ACT government hired Walter Sofronoff KC, who served as the President of the Queensland Court of Appeal (2017–2022) and as the Solicitor-General of Queensland from 2005 to 2014, to head up the ACT Inquiry into police corruption for covering up the alleged rape of Brittany Higgins at Parliament House in 2019.

Instead, Walter Sofronoff used his position as the ACT Inquiry Chairperson to conspire with News Corp journalists / propogandists Janet Albrechtsen and Samantha Maiden to attack Brittany Higgins and stitch up whistleblower Shane Drumgold.

But Walter Sofronoff outsmarted himself when he illegally leaked his ACT Inquiry Report to Janet Albrechtsen before he gave it to the ACT Government which is a crime. Sofronoff leaked the report, which was heavily biased against Shane Drumgold and protected corrupt police and politicians, to make sure Drumgold’s career was finished as ACT Director of Public Prosecutions.

I published an article on the 10th of August 2023 titled “Corrupt judge Walter Sofronoff was bribed by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp to leak ACT Inquiry Report to Janet Albrechtsen” which covers all the detail behind the Walter Sofronoff / News Corp conspiracy. (Click here to read the article)

Shane Drumgold fights back

Shane Drumgold has instituted proceedings in the ACT Supreme Court to quash Walter Sofronoff’s ACT inquiry findings against him and it is currently set for hearing for 2 days in February 2024.

The ACT government have gone quiet regarding their potential criminal charges against Walter Sofronoff for leaking the Inquiry Report but maybe they are waiting until after Shane Drumgold’s case is heard next year as it might uncover further evidence of criminal offences by Walter Sofronoff.

Walter Sofronoff phoned numerous journalists during the inquiry to push his agenda and even phoned me in May 2023 to attack Shane Drumgold and defend the corrupt police. (Click here to read more)

New Queensland government inquiry

In June 2022 the Queensland government announced an independent Commission of Inquiry into Forensic DNA Testing in Queensland which had major issues and they appointed Walter Sofronoff KC as chairperson. On 13th of December 2022, the final report was provided to the government.

The report found, “six years’ worth of DNA swabs in sexual assault cases were not properly tested and some samples “may have been missed”.”

The report found it all came down to grave maladministration and that lab manager Cathie Allen had lied for years about what was going on inside the clinic. (Click here to read more)

But this week it was found that the Walter Sofronoff Inquiry into Forensic DNA Testing in Queensland was flawed, and the government has now set up a new inquiry.

A whistleblower, Forensic scientist Dr Kirsty Wright, has pointed out that evidence at the Inquiry into Forensic DNA Testing in Queensland raised issues with Project 13 which is a robotic method for recovering DNA. But that evidence was ultimately ignored for some reason by Walter Sofronoff. Sounds like the ACT Inquiry where Sofronoff ignored a lot of evidence.

The ABC reported:

But Dr Wright said documents submitted to the Sofronoff inquiry showed the robotic method was recovering far less DNA.

An additional 7,000 serious crime and sexual assault cases will be reviewed because of concerns about Project 13, bringing the number of Queensland cases under review to about 37,000.

The new inquiry will begin today and will run for six weeks. It will be led by Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC, a former federal court judge, scientist, and former president of the Australian Academy of Forensic Sciences. (Click here to read more)

As part of the new Queensland Inquiry led by Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC it will investigate how and why Walter Sofronoff failed to address the failed Project 13 DNA testing which has now resulted in “an additional 7,000 serious crime and sexual assault cases being reviewed”.

When Walter Sofronoff gave his ACT Inquiry Report, which was very critical of whistleblower Shane Drumgold, to the ACT government they had the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions office review all the cases that Shane Drumgold handled.

Given the above, will the Queensland government now review all the court judgments Walter Sofronoff handed down during his time as President of the Queensland Court of Appeal (2017–2022) and will the ACT government now establish a new Inquiry into ACT police corruption and their cover-up of the alleged rape of Brittany Higgins? And if not, why not?

  1. It makes you wonder why Sofronoff was appointed to the ACT enquiry in the first place. Was he appointed to achieve the end result they wanted?

  2. Many judges are corrupt.
High Court judges have failed to hand back their Qantas Chairman’s Lounge memberships.
Many forensic lab technicians have corrupted trials.
    Remember Joy Kuhl.

  3. Goodness gracious me! … Walter, Walter, Walter…
What have you done? IMHO Walter, best you come out of what appears to be hiding and, openly and voluntarily address these matters in question.

May I suggest that without doing so, you may well be attracting more suspicions to yourself.

I think it’s… “Time to face the music”

I wonder what those at the Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane, are thinking?

  4. I wonder about the Toowoomba connection of Walter Sofranoff and Bruce Lehman in the latter’s court case enquiry led by the former.
