Former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and newly appointed Chairwoman of the mental health support organisation Beyond Blue is almost certain to be called as a witness in the criminal trial of Ralph Blewitt. Mr Blewitt was charged by the WA police a few days ago on Thursday the 16th of March 2017 with fraud totalling more than $400,000 during the period of 1992 to 1994.

The police allege Mr Blewitt ripped off construction company Thiess by himself when half the country knows that is a lie.

The website Michael Smith News, who interviewed Ralph Blewitt a matter of hours after he had been charged on Thursday, has reported:

Almost 5 years since he first came forward to assist police in the AWU Scandal, Ralph Blewitt was today charged by WA Police with 31 counts of causing detriment to a person by deception – more commonly known as fraud.

He has been bailed on his own undertaking to appear in the Perth Magistrates’ Court next Wednesday morning.

He has not been served with a police brief of evidence, nor has he had the particulars of the offences police allege against him explained.

I predict that charges of deception on Thiess will fail because Thiess knew exactly what it was paying for, there was no deception, there were secret commissions. Let’s see what a court thinks. (Click here to read more or listen to the interview with Ralph Blewitt)

At this point it seems that no one else has been charged but it is well-known that the mastermind behind the AWU fraud during that period was Bruce Wilson who was also at the time the boyfriend of Julia Gillard.

Julia Gillard’s history

I wrote an article on this website in 2011 and said:

Julia Gillard had criminal allegations made against her in 1995 when she was accused of helping her boyfriend steal over $1,000,000 from the Australian Workers Union (AWU) and helping him spend the money on such things as her personal home renovations and dresses.

Julia Gillard has never denied helping him rip off the $1,000,000 plus dollars, what she has done is denied doing it knowingly. Her part was helping set up an account called the “Australian Workers Union Workplace Reform Association” and possibly other accounts that the money was laundered through when she was a lawyer working for Slater and Gordon who were the solicitors representing the Australian Workers Union.

Julia Gillard was investigated by the Trade Union Royal Commission in 2014 / 2015 and while it didn’t recommend charges against her it did find that union money was spent to renovate her home.

Gillard was also known to use her position as Prime Minister to hand out jobs for the boys and girls. A couple of her most controversial appointments were appointing Bernard Murphy, her partner in crime from Slater and Gordon Lawyers, as a Federal Court of Australia judge in October 2011. So will Gillard use her position as Chairwoman of Beyond Blue to stack it with Union and Labor Party cronies? Time will tell.

Julia Gillard’s biggest achievement

If Julia Gillard was never PM it is highly unlikely that we would have had The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse which has benefited tens of thousands of victims and many more when their families are included.

For all of Julia Gillard’s failings which this website and many others have been happy to point out when she was PM she can certainly hold her head high in regards to setting up the Royal Commission.

Over the next year or two while Ralph Blewitt is in court facing charges Julia Gillard will be regularly asked about her knowledge of and involvement in the AWU fraud which is not good for the reputation of Beyond Blue. It is almost certain that Mr Blewitt would also call Julia Gillard as a witness if he can. This will greatly undermine Gillard’s role and credibility as Chairwoman of Beyond Blue.

Unfortunately the position of the current Chairman Jeff Kennett became untenable when he recently used social media to bully and harass Amber Harrison who is a former employee of Channel Seven where Mr Kennett is also a Director. Mr Kennett had become a total embarrassment for Beyond Blue.

It’s looking very much like Beyond Blue have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire with their leaders. I wonder if Beyond Blue raised with Julia Gillard the AWU fraud and Ralph Blewitt’s recent arrest and what did she say if they did ask her about it.

Summary

At the moment everything points to Ralph Blewitt being stitched up to be the fall guy to protect Julia Gillard, Bruce Wilson and others. The police could still charge more people so we will wait and see before coming to a final conclusion. If the WA police do try a hatchet job they’ll get a hammering on social media like they have never experienced. The Australian public have had a gutful of cover-ups and won’t tolerate it anymore.
